I have nothing to do.... except go to the library for our weekly knitting group. First of 4 different groups every week. Laundry is all done and put away. Dishwasher has done it's job for me. Dh cooked supper last night thanks to a very heated discussion we had on Saturday. He actually admitted that he does nothing around here when he doesn't have a car on the hoist.

Cathy, my dh does a lot when there are other people around, but when it's the two of us... I don't think he's actually washed up dishes in the powder room sink more than once or twice since we've been without the kitchen and it's a job that I absolutely hate doing.

House is quiet this a.m. - the three Js return tomorrow for the sprint to the finish line, I hope. And it's nice to have a quiet week too.

I took out steak to grill for our supper. I'll make a baked sweet potato and maybe a salad.

Good morning!

Although there are some challenges this morning (aka teenage boy with an attitude) I still consider this to be a good morning. More things have gone right than wrong. DD11 and I had a good chat on the way to school and she arrived on time.

DS14 is unhappy with me because he bought what he considered to be a great deal yesterday -= a 1970's pickup for $500 (his money) and I refuse to let him have it hauled to our home to sit in our driveway. This truck doesn't have a title, doesn't run, it has broken windows, the hood is missing, etc. It is a wreck, but he only sees the possibilities. DS14 does not have the skills to take a wreck and make it into a usable vehicle. I made DS14 contact the seller and tell them to not deliver this wrecked vehicle to our home. I don't know if the seller will return DS14 cash money or not.

Also, DS14 has not finished sorting his bedroom stuff. We shook hands and agreed it would be done by 5pm yesterday. I finished my part of the bedroom project, but he hasn't finished his part. DS14 is unhappy with me because I have suspended all of his activities until he finishes the bedroom project. NO going to work. NO playing with friends. NO church activities.

Apparently, I am ruining DS14 life and not having a bit of guilt over it. I am quite comfortable saying NO.
NO to hauling wrecked vehicles to sit in our driveway.
NO to not having consequences when you don't keep your word.

I have 49 years of parenting experience and am confident this stance is necessary.

I have watered out front, stretched, did half of a walk thunder called us back home.
I have one chapter of writing prompts written out and in the journal jar yea for progress!
Breakfast is done.
I have a plan for lunch.
Dinner is the mystery.
Call go do to put in bujo is next up.
then s2s at some point needs to happen.

DS14 is making amazing progress in his room. He has come to me 4 times in the last hour "Come look what I've done! I am so happy with my room" He is working on a few more decisions and actions to finish it. Finally!

As soon as DS14 finishes his bedroom, then we will start homeschooling. We are running about 3 hours behind our typical school schedule.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed but it's okay - I need to do a visual clutter check and it will be better.
the window washer is here but dh wouldn't let him clean the inside windows in his bedroom and bath or his library I have a feeling the bathroom will be gross.

I might have to start insisting on work being done in those rooms.

What needs finishing: wash other half of wall in family room
wash the kitchen wood walls on bottom and some top areas
water pots

Spent quite a bit of time revamping all my lists this morning. Just finished lunch. Dh finished up soup I made last week and I had 1/2 a chicken salad sandwich. (I had made chicken salad from leftover pulled chicken that we bought for our lunch on Thursday. It's actually been pretty good.)

Dh showed me the top of his left hand this morning!! He has a coat closet outside and wasps had built a nest in there (and I mean HUGE). He sprayed it twice last night and evidently was stung several times on his hand. Said it woke him several times during the night with the itching and he'd put C ortisone lotion on. It is SO swollen! He is so allergic to these kind of wasps -he's one lucky fella that he didn't go in to anaphylactic shock. I'm much less than humored by all this. Everyone here at the campground has complained bitterly about the amount of bees/wasps around this year, but we have way more than our share! Partly because of the fact that dh is still sorting cans for recycling behind a screen on our deck. (He no longer can do it in the 'can barn' like he's done for years. I'm trying to figure out how to get him to stop doing this. I know he counts on it for spending $$ over the winter.) At any rate I'm pretty unhappy with the present scenario. Dh's 'boss' is coming later in his 'bee suit' and they'll remove the nest and hopefully that will be more than helpful. Have a friend making us some 'pretend' wasp nests (crocheted) and we'll crumple paper bags inside and hang them around. Supposedly wasps won't build nests near where they assume there are others already built. Hoping she gets them to me sooner than later this week though I know she works all week. I've seen some on A river but don't want to pay the price if I can help it. We've already hung 2 wasp traps from the roof over our deck. And they are working big time. (Thank you, Blessed, for your hint about the fake nests BTW).

Back to crossing things off my l&&ts.

I am so so sorry he got stung like that!!!
so scary- my youngest has allergic reactions to stinging insects and I know how bad that could have been for him! glad his boss is coming over with a bee suit.
