I am so thankful for wonderful neighbors: They went and brought back 3 pails of gravel and redid by our electrical/water/septic posts. It looks so nice now. Then they went with dh to pick up 2 plastic buckets to put out behind our RV. There weren't any so they settled for 8 milk crates. On top of that they put an aluminum table we had hanging behind our shed. Then they took all of dh's winterizing stuff from out front and took it around and put it on the table. Plus, after I cleaned the gas grill (which is perfectly fine) we were getting rid of, they put it out by the road. It was taken within the hour and has a happy new home. The gas griddle/cover I ordered will be here Tuesday and dh can putter at putting it together. Can't wait to use it. It ended up being less expensive to order them from A river than H ome D epot. Neither one had shipping charges. We have the very best neighbors.

Dneighbor did tell me what a time dh had up at the tractor/wagon however. After he had difficulty getting up there he discovered the seat was wet. So he tried to get down and she yelled at her dh to catch my dh. :? Said he couldn't believe how out of breath he was. I'm just praying that he has safe travels around the ponds with the wagon loaded with 'super soakers'. Hoping he'll come home and rest/sleep after this. I won't be over nervousness until I see him in that chair.

I decluttered a car today - yay!!! It's going to a lovely young lady who could really use a good car for a big discount. I am thrilled it's going to a good home.

my brother came over with his friend - we had a great time!

oh - dogs found my new cross stitch - I will have to buy it again.

picked some small decorative pumpkins I grew - I found a couple more bigger pumpkins growing!!!
dd younger is coming in during the month of October. I am hoping to have pumpkins for her to carve.

now it is actually time to work.
1. put away the stuff I took out of my old car.

dogs are outside with dd older.= they are not happy to be outside on their own. they want me to work - not going to happen today as it is really sticky and warm outside.

I replaced the battery (twice) in the SUV fob and ruled out that possible cause. I was able to get inside the SUV by using the mechanical key inside the key fob. However, that is as far as I could go because the SUV battery is completely dead. I find that strange to happen without any indications or warnings. This car emails me when the tire gets low so wouldn't it give an indication of a low battery? DH is taking DMIL to do her grocery shopping so I will hit the pause button on the SUV troubleshooting effort until he returns.

I made soup from garden vegetables and some leftover meat.

The kids want to go to the fair again. Tonight is the final night for it. Last night DD46 brought her SO to our little town fair to watch the pie auction. However, he got sidetracked and was fascinated by the details of the pig show process. HUH??? This guy is the most well-traveled person I know both inside US and foreign countries. In all those decades of travelling, he has never seen a pig show. We explained to him the goat & sheep show was Thursday. The cattle show is today, and the horse show is Sunday. You just never know what new adventures you can have at a small-town fair.

hello -

hi d dee what lovely neighbors you have!
I am praying for your dh!!! I hope the super soaker part won't drain him too much. I am sure he would rather be doing things that sitting at home but it is so worrying. hoping he comes home soon and just relaxes.

hi d lady it is a life lesson, isn't it? I am happy you all came home with 3 wins - that's a lot! yay on raising money for the pies! I always loved the dairy cattle showing and the sheep as well - especially the little kids showing off their hard work that they had done for their animals! I don't care for the state fairs - I love the smaller ones. We used to live in green county in Wisconsin and boy I miss the cheese curds and corn they would serve. So many good memories.

hi d cathy

hi d twins sorry you were so achy - hope that you feel nicely stretched out and feel great later on today! can't wait to hear about the dress!

hi d Nancy - so nice that you had a lovely night sleep!
hope the air quality gets better fast.

hi d rose how great that you bought hurricane shutters! it's a blessing!
I am so so sorry you tummy is wonky again! praying you feel better soon!

I can't go back any further but so you know I am thinking of everyone that has and has not posted here.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

It's awful for him to be feeling that unwell, Dee. For both of you.

Way to go on decluttering a car, bw2. I thought at first you had cleaned out the debris from inside and then realized the entire car was going!

We went out together. Went to the tailor and dh got Starbucks while I was there. Then to a furniture store - a friend texted dh a photo of counter stools last weekend - they had three there but weren't comfortable for dh's bottom. We have two right now. I need to start calling the outlet place in GA daily to see if they get in another that will match what we have. They only had two in stock when we were there but we were told them get things in all the time from returns so to keep checking. (Friend that told us about this finally got the rest of the stools she needed by doing that.)

Then we stopped off at a Vintage place for a walk through - I did that while dh went to the hardware store next door. And then to Home Depot for my light bulbs and a liquor store stop. Finally home again. Dh is watching football and I need to get busy. I was no where near finishing a.m. routine when we went out. OTOH, a lot of weekends I don't get it all done.

I need to do some kitchen counter clearing and putting away and I'm just sitting.

Going to try for five mostly easy things:
-clear kitchen table
-upstairs for straight edge and pad to cut cabinet lining material on (also, need my pad for stretching my back from there)
-clean up from what was unpacked last night (empty bins to garage, packing materials to trash or recycle)
-make up the bed
-straighten great room

Thanks, Twins. Realized I wasn't feeling all that well myself. Knew I felt really sleepy. Dozed off and when I came to decided perhaps I should check my blood sugar. It was 52! :o Just had some peaches that dh had sliced earlier mixed with some tapioca pudding. We're going to friends in another hour or so for a cookout, but I definitely knew I had to get something into me. Dh has gone down to take a shower. I may still need to eat a little more -hate feeling like that. We had a vegetarian lunch -sweet corn and dh baked some squash. Not sure what kind it was but it was delicious -more like sweet potato. But evidently it wasn't enough for me.

Safe travels, Lucylee. (Dee) take care.

You are all getting way more done than I am today. I slept in a long while. It was a long hard day yesterday and I think resting my legs was a good thing. They finally feel good.

We got the exhaust hood/microwave surface light fixed today. It had quit working but I remembered when I shut the microwave door it fluttered off. So I had a new one in the lightbulb box but it was only a year ago I changed it and they usually last a long while more than this. So with a screwdriver I took off the plate/lens cover and there was the bulb laying there. It had fallen out. So I put it back in with some difficulty. It is one of those small bulbs with the 2 prongs, and instructions are to not touch the bulb with our hands. The oils on our skin are supposed to do something to the bulbs and make them not last. So I got a disposable glove on for the work which makes it awkward. It felt loose up in the socket so we'll see how this goes. At least it's lighting up now.

Some desk chores. Wrote a note in a birthday card and copied a post card/notice to include. Our High School is having a luncheon thing for our 55th year and I sent the notice to my friend who corresponds with me at Christmas. I'm not sure they had her address. She and I went to school together. I'd love to go but way too far for me. It's doable for her, though.

Worked on this week's study. 4 1/2 pages, and it took me 3 hours. If I study this way I'll never get through the rest of them each week! I put all the studies and other stuff on both calendars, my pocket one and my wall calendar. I already have one appointment on the same date, but I can make it if I go straight from one to the other.

Frozen pizza tonight. I'm happy not to cook one meal this week. I did cut up some extra stuff to put on top.

Thought I posted another "round" and was looking back to what I was supposed to be doing. I bet I didn't post it, and then I rebooted my computer.

-Cut drawer liners for three drawers in cabinets under the island - these are facing my knees are and for things that aren't used that frequently.
-Clear DR table of what I can, straighten up in there. Since we don't have a pantry there's a lot that's still on the table.
-sit down and stretch out my back
-clean the stovetop (have to declutter first.
-try to find a home for the larger food processor. It's rarely used - a few times a year at most, but I need it for making gefilte fish (literally, chopped fish)
-reboot laundry

From the round that I "lost" I had cleared the kitchen island as much as possible and started dishwasher. Can't remember what else. I'm also doing some small things as I see them.

We just had a lovely hard rain shower.
