"SAVANT" SUNDAY
SAVANT: a very knowledgeable or skilled person; scholar, guru, genius
Yep! That would be any/all of us. Everyone here has these skills and it's been a place to come for many years for knowledge, advice, skill sharing, genius moments and on and on........
It's extremely foggy this morning. I was awake during the night and read for a while. Then slept till 7 and got up, took my thyroid med and evidently went back to sleep until 8:30. Dh was up and gone and I never heard him. That's extremely unusual.

Re: "SAVANT" SUNDAY
Need to get moving. At least my back is somewhat better this morning. Have a load of laundry to go down to the laundry room at some point today.
I love how we can often put something out by the roadway here and "POOF"....it's gone. Put our gas grill, which was till in really good shape out there yesterday. Within 20 minutes dneighbor said a golf cart and a truck pulled up looked at it and one guy said, "I want this grill!" They put in the truck which turned around and down the road it went to site 79 (we're site 61).
Off I go to do my morning routine and get something done. Dh is going to be cooking salt potatoes toward noon. There's 'big' goings on here for the holiday today. They learned many years ago that come Labor Day Monday that most of the campers were pulling out to go home and get ready for the school year and events weren't well attended till they moved it back to Sunday. Always have had a clam bake until this year. They're just having a cook out and a band. The band I could care less and I'm sure I'll come back to the RV. I almost think it's supposed to rain off and on. If so they'll move festivities indoors to Boulder Hall. Hmmm....wonder how that will go. They've urged people to bring their chairs and coolers to the outdoor event. Supposedly you can't take any beverage into Boulder Hall. Though when we used to have Monday night pot-luck people brought their own beverages but nothing alcoholic. Going to be interesting.

Re: "SAVANT" SUNDAY
Dee I am so glad your back is better!
I slept well.
It is smokey here again today but not quite as bad we had some rain.
It is cooler that is good.
I have been amz. shopping, could not find what I wanted at the place I usually look found a couple of journals to try.
Still doing a bit of birthday shopping. I did get a used one a guided journal inspired Michelle O. it is actually pretty good, has shaped good quality paper and I ignore prompts that I have covered in others it is great for younger gals. I have a special focus for this one I am doing. Getting unstuck post pandemic stuff for me now. New phase again. Only a couple things left from when I started in 2020.
I have been up a bit and it is lite out so I can consider my walk or weeding to stretch as my show is not on for the weekend.
I need to figure out my church clothes also.

Re: "SAVANT" SUNDAY
I slept well here and was up at 8:30 or so. Ds has been over for omelets with us. He had asked if we wanted to go out for brunch today - for our anniversary I think - but we suggested omelets here. He and dh are going shopping for furniture for his condo. We've offered to do that since his birthday and he's waited to settle in. Or put us off. But he needs furniture downstairs. The old couch he has went to his second bedroom and he was using a card table for his "dining" table.
Dh went on a run this morning just wanting things put away somewhere so I had to work with him. A lot of cabinets still not wiped out and he has no idea how I like things. So I'll having some wiping and moving to do. I know he 's trying to be helpful - may be it's good for me because I've been feeling so overwhelmed and tired. I can only do so much decision making and working in a day. My focus yesterday was just trying to get things looking better and caught up, not necessarily put away. And I've been running a lot of things through the dishwasher before I put them in cabinets and he didn't take time for that.
And he says that when he gets back he wants to work on moving things around in the garage so we can get a car (one of his) back in.

Now I'm in business with cabinet lining. I found my father's ancient L square iron in the garage. I wish I knew exactly what it was called. It's a steel L with measurements. I can use to cut right angles and measure at the same time.

Re: "SAVANT" SUNDAY
Maybe so, Dee, but shaped as an "L" not "T."
Dh is working on the garage and I'm inside. I told him where some things out there could go (into my car for recycling, some of his mother's china upstairs.) We're both sniping at each other: "Why would you put that there when you never use it?" he says. "I use it every week in the winter months when I make soup" I say. I don't think he has much of an idea what I use and don't use, and he certainly doesn't get the principle of "Put what you need frequently" in the most convenient places.

Re: "SAVANT" SUNDAY
Home from church. I was in the nursery with the littles during Sunday School, so I missed that lesson with the ladies group. DH was on stage several times during worship service doing communion, offering and prayer requests. This was DH first time doing these things in this church.
I cooked steaks, mac & cheese, sauteed vegetables and some biscuits for lunch.
Next up - menu planning for this week.

Re: "SAVANT" SUNDAY
Dh has done his thing in the garage and we've loaded up the kitchen and unpacked a lot. I think there's still a box in the garage, but I'm not sure what I'm missing? I'm shocked at how much room we have now.
I just had a late lunch and I am tired. I'm going to read for a few minutes with my feet up and then I'll see if I can get dh to help with clean up and regrouping. I didn't finish with lining drawers - no surprise. Once dh came in we were working together.

Re: "SAVANT" SUNDAY
I asked my dh about the T vs. L shaped squares and what are they called. He said the L shaped one is called a square and a T shaped one is called a T square. He said if you are asking for someone to pass you one or the other, you either say "Pass me the T square." or "Pass me the square." He has numerous things like that hanging around the garage because he does wood working, and all kinds of other things. (Welding, gunsmithing, etc.) We also have an entire shelf dedicated to trailer hitches. Those things are heavy. It's like a treasure hunt out there. My dh is probably the only person who has actually purchased a home for the garage.
