Hello to all! I hope everyone had a lovely holiday.

LadyM, I understand the suspicion because it kinda spooks me, too. When Caller ID tells me who someone is, I like to simply say, "hello" and give the person the courtesy to say the introduction they intended.

Hoping lucylee's dgd moves on from the upper respiratory troubles.

Yesterday we were invited to dstepson and dtepdil's Labor Day cookout and even though the weather did not fully cooperate, it was fun. I brought veggie hot dogs and they were very nice grilled. Dstepdil made one of her lovely marinated salads. We had corn on the cob and french fries. Thoroughly enjoyed their dog, which is actually her mother's but we are the second family! We (HRH, really) are her puppy-sitters Friday.

Today some of HRH's family came for a short visit, very enjoyable. The house looked nice. The LR afforded a good conversation area, we think. They couldn't stay past 11:30 because they have responsibilities at a Meals On Wheels.

I "hit the button" on a purchase of a new set of cookware today. Our frying pans especially have been showing their age, and the dutch oven doesn't "set" well on the flat stove - hasn't, really, for a long time but we've been pampering it.

HRH was very surprised by a call today to let him know his dentist has him down for a cleaning tomorrow. I find this somewhat strange, since he is the most calendar-conscious in my world, but he has to assume it just never was written down here. It certainly bites into the week, but is do-able.

I think my one of my neighbors have separated - I am hoping I am wrong.

I didn't work for 3 days whew I need to get back into working mode.

3 season room looks exactly like I thought it would. - everything is put back - it was very little and I am happy I went minimal in this room.
dh is already talking about putting things in there this winter - My answer is no (in a nice way).
I have to get a cover for the one bench.

dogs haven't been happy with me being inside - but at least they are playing together. They come in to check with me every so often but are having a jolly good old time running around.

rinsed the 3 season room, everything is exactly where it should be (for this minute 8-) )
it's warm outside and I need to work outside.

whites are washing again bc I left them in there overnight
vacuumed first floor
rinsed the kitchen
washed the counters and the stove
turned the dw on
cleaned out the fridge
straightened the family room and wiped the dogs beds
wiped the top of the washing machines.
washed the last pot
watered pumpkin bed.
dh and I ups'ed my car book from my old car to my brother
I got coffee and paid cash

I am considering whether I want to plan for this fall and winter bc I feel like it OR go work in the yard.
this includes adding house work in areas that I don't normally do - dust etc. builds up in these areas and is a lot of work to clean if I only do it once every 3 to 6 months
Christmas is starting to get in my head re: gifts.
I put off weeding zone 1 and it shows.
I have a yearning to do needle work of some type.

also needed:
clean out sink
dry whites
do cold wash - very little
dinner

soon:
decorate for fall.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Thanks for the good wishes!

Yes, blessed, she was diagnosed with JA when she was less than 2 years old, I think. She is on Humera and Methatrexate, which really lowers her resistance to infection, but it keeps the arthritis under control very well.
Tomorrow is another day.

I'm disappointed that pantry guy has not been here to finish pantry. Was supposed to be back this afternoon. Tile guys are coming in the morning and the counter guys at noon. I am rescheduling my body work tomorrow. I don't feel good about leaving these guys in my empty house and the counter people - due at noon - are likely to be here much earlier or later.

And I haven't done a thing all day except to play genealogy. Not even working on what I should work on, but just playing. I suspect it's exactly what I need right now. I don't want to face the list I made. I don't think I could have gotten out of bed if I were like LadyM with twelve events on the calendar.

Much much later. Pantry guy is here...still going. Dh came through and did some mansplaining for what I wanted with the pantry drawers....

Taking a break. I've been working. Hard. We got ladders out and I got buckets of sudsy water and rags. We got the blue painters tape all around the top of the trim by the ceiling in our lanai. Big space out there. I washed that trim all the way around and a couple feet out from the wall all around on the ceiling. Dug out the troughs and cracks/crevices on the hurricane panels tracks. A couple long spaces need packed flush with calk, that was never done and the mud daubers like to build nests in there and the tree frogs use it as a bathroom, blek! All that is dug out and brushed and washed. Tomorrow it will be dry enough to calk. DH says it is such a deep crevice that it will take a few days to dry before I can paint. But the rest is ready to paint.

Those problem areas are at the top of the picture window, nice long stretch, over the bathroom door, the glass block window and over the sliding glass door at the master bedroom. Sigh....

Up and down the ladder, move it over, up and down over and over and over. Change the water, new rag, etc. Left DH to hose off the concrete floor. I must go check what kind of paint we have left. I know there's not enough. I had done the front porch like this, not quite as big a job, but then I used the rest of the paint in the laundry room, 2 doors there and all the base trim. So I'm probably out.

Need a shower. I wasn't sure I ever sweated this bad before.

I am so glad the meds are really helping your sweet grand daughter!
praying for her immune system to keep away infections!

how nice the d dog walked nicely d Nancy!
yay on mowing the lawn and your other work!
praying that some rain gives you a good gentle all day soak (every 4 days to keep the plants happy).
waving to you!

hi d harmony - yay on taking a break. yay on alllll of your work!
it's a big job!!

d twins I am so sorry the pantry guy didn't come right away - frustrating! Glad he finally made it.
genealogy work is work! it takes a lot of brain work even when looking around!
I think the reason your tired and that the list is not what you want to do is because you were so busy this weekend. It's fun but it is exhausting.

it's official I am tired.
I finished the planning for September, October and the house until next spring.
I have to order some things: bulbs for October planting, present for d niece (she is the funny gift recipient this year at Christmas).
dh has decided what he wants to give for the white elephant this year. Silly guy!

I still have to
fold and put away whites
dry the darks
put away clean dishes from dw.
shower

tomorrow I will get the cash gift for the landscape gentlemen - I always give them a tip at this time bc there are other men that come during October. They help me so much!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I am reminding myself of the importance of keeping perspective. Just because a bunch of little things are going haywire at the same time doesn't change them into big important things.

This afternoon little things =
Little thing #1 - phone isn't working. then it is working. Then it isn't...... Then it is... then it isn't......it is currently working. I am 95% sure it isn't the sim card. I think the phone hardware is failing. But first I want to do more troubleshooting before I cry uncle and order a replacement phone.
Little thing #2 - SUV battery replacement
Little thing #3 - I had to take SUV back to dealership because many of the digital readouts weren't working right
Little thing #4 - I missed my noon coffee because I was on the go and forgot to take it with me.
Little thing #5 - The lettuce at Subway looked GROSS so I didn't get lettuce on the wrap and the gross lettuce didn't give me confidence in the rest of their food.
Little thing #6 - The screen at Sonic wasn't working so I couldn't check in to pick up my order from their app (I changed to a different parking spot and that screen worked)
Little thing #7 - When I arrived home DD11 met me at the door crying. I got her calmed down enough to tell me what happened (she took wrong paper in Math class so she will receive a zero and a strike). We discussed how this happened and what she could do to make sure it doesn't happen again. We emptied her 20lb backpack and organized it so she won't have rumpled papers anymore. She now has a plan in place to handle her papers better. I will be emailing her math teacher in a few minutes to discuss it.
Little thing #8 - The battery in my mouse quit. It is an easy fix to replace the battery, but does it have to stop working when everything else is breaking?
Little thing #9 - Speaking of mouse.....I found mouse tracks underneath the kitchen sink. We have a mouse in the house! Traps set. BUT REALLY ....two mice??? What's the chance of a computer mouse failing the same time a real mouse shows up in the house??
Little thing #10 - CPA called and told me to GMAT. He is trying to close out his clients for the year and my procrastination is messing with his plan. So he gave me an appt on Thursday to take our tax stuff to him.....except it isn't ready for him.
Little thing #11 - Apparently when little thing #4 happens I become cranky. Why else would I write all this?
