Re: GMAT Wednesday PWYC
I have been alternating between prepping for tonights meal and doing homeschool with DS14. We are attempting 11 assignments today (7 due today and 4 we didn't get to do yesterday). I am about to cry uncle on doing extra assignments today and declare Friday to be a catch up homeschool day.
I started feeling overwhelmed, so I sent myself outside for garden therapy. It is 97F today so I only lasted 30 minutes before I needed a break to cool down. Relaxing with feet up, fan on high blowing directly on me to help cool off, cup of coffee to sip and enjoy.

Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Aack. For some reason I dived into my two DPCs. For the first I finally got an answer, don't know how many people I talked to but finally got there.
The second took 30 minutes but I think it is resolved now. This was for the microwave we returned at Home Depot, and yes I spent almost an hour on the phone with them two weeks ago.
While holding with HD the guys came by to install the small countertop piece at the back of the stove. I had tile people here almost all morning and the project manager also going over different things. Oy. Little by little some things are happening.
I started a load of laundry, whites because I've used so many cleaning clothes and dish towels cleaning up. Counters pretty full today because I moved a bunch of things from DR and need to put them away, but I've had people here ever since, or been on the phone. I did manage to get my fall wreath out for the front door.
I need to regroup. Probably clear kitchen counters and DR should be top priority.
I know you are feeling overwhelmed, LadyM, but you have this. You could do it with one hand tied behind your back, as they used to say.

Re: GMAT Wednesday PWYC
Back in the house for a while. Enjoying the air conditioning. We took a break earlier once during the process. I was working on the rest of the taping when DH came home. We finished the couple places that needed it. I had washed a couple places and the bathroom door.
We tackled the calking. Some of it was ladder work. I helped while DH went up the ladder. Slowly, one step at a time. I could have done some of the top calking but he is really good at it and wanted to try. The 2 channels to fill under the sill were very very hard. I tried some of it and I was struggling, laying on my back looking up otherwise we couldn't see the spaces. DH took over, laying on the rolley thing for mechanics with a pillow under his head to make it a little higher and when he needed to move along I pulled him by his feet. Anyway, that is done now although DH says the spaces are so deep the calk will probably shrink and we will have to go over them again. None of this shows that anyone will see. The stuccoer should have done a better job of getting it in these spaces.
We came in and I offered to give DH a haircut so after we cooled off a bit we did that. I'm trying to decide if I want to start some of the painting while he's at youth group or should I stop for the day. First I need to make some supper so he can get out the door to church.

Home from body work. I went by the drugstore to pick up script but forgot to take the one that needs filling with me. So I need to go back tomorrow, or another day. I need to make a list for tomorrow.
Dh went by a client/friends' house for a drink with them. I have the oven preheated for our supper, and earlier made the stuffed peppers so they just go into the oven for 15-20 min. This is a quick recipe with italian sausage, spinach, tomato sauce and mozzarella. Like a pizza in a bell pepper.

Re: GMAT Wednesday PWYC
I don't know if you could say I got my act together today, but I did manage to
* s2s before leaving the bedroom/bathroom area (and I did my floor stretches and tidied the bed before showering)
* finished the laundry
* washed dishes that had been in the sink two days
* played with dgd approx 3 hours
* went to church
DGD had to go to the doctor again today, and on the way home, she wanted to come to our house. She had a rough day so I wanted to cheer her up a little bit. Bless her heart, she has a boil behind her knee that is painful and "angry-looking." Doctor tried to drain it a bit, but she cried so much he stopped and advised baking soda paste poultice. She also has developed a yeast infection, after spending over 20 days on antibiotics and now on the third round of ten days! AND still looking towards tubes in her ears. DDIL is just at her wit's end.
We played school, and a sorta self-styled game of "Go Fish" with her Pokemon cards (from McDonald's Happy Meals.) Neither of us have any idea whatsoever how one is supposed to actually play the Pokemon game, and the instructions make absolutely no sense to me at all, so dgd just makes up games. When I accused her of changing the rules so she would win, she said, "Let's not talk about that."
Church is... concerning. Some of you may have heard about the conflict within the United Methodist Church. We didn't really learn a lot tonight, but we are concerned. DH said, "Well, I'm not leaving as long as (current -- new-- pastor) is there. She's 75 years old, how long do you think she will last?"
I am finally reading Atomic Habits, LadyM! I'm reading the e-book from the library, so I'm making notes as I go.
That was why I was DETERMINED to s2s before I left the bathroom this morning. "After I weigh myself, I will start the water for my shower." Told dh my new resolution might result in me staying in the bathroom all day, but I did manage to do it. That makes one in a row. I had this habit for awhile some time ago, but fell off the wagon. It is so much easier to do the easy thing than to discipline yourself to do the hard thing.

I decided there was enough to do inside the house that I didn't go out to paint. Plus my muscles were screaming at me to stop.
1 LOL washed dried and folded. A few things that I usually dry outside I hung in the garage. Our drying rack is taken down while I do the porch work. Kitchen work done. Tools, buckets, etc. organized into a neat pile. Turned out a good idea not to paint. Even though it's under a roof, it must have been really high humidity as it rained a bit all evening.
