SPECIAL SUNDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

What is making this Sunday SPECIAL for you?

I've been up since 7 and awake since 5:30. Dh has gone down for a shower and to switch our laundry to the dryer. Just finished my breakfast.

Need to get back at it today -weight has been up 2 days in a row and I definitely know why.

Tomorrow we have to be up and at it early again. Dh has his yearly eye appointment at 8:40 about 20/25 miles from here. It will be a busy week and that's probably a good thing. Hoping, for dh's sake (& mine) that it doesn't drag too much. Friday he goes for blood work and Covid test in the morning in toward the city. I go for a Dexxa scan about 20 miles in the opposite direction that afternoon. Supposed to go see a very dear old friend on my way to the hospital for my scan. I don't think we've seen each other in at least 2 years. Covid sure messed up a lot of things.

Our neighbor(s) are coming over soon to help us pull out our refrigerator. We have a regular residential fridge and I don't think it's ever been pulled out. We're having trouble with a lot of condensation in the freezer and fridge both. Hoping it's just the coils that need cleaning. Not sure how easily this appliance is going to come out with the slide out rug it has to traverse. Hoping it's a slam/dunk.

Supposed to start raining this afternoon for a bit. Then it looks like rain all day Monday & Tuesday. Harmony, you definitely have to be tired of all the rain! Our phones ping all the time with weather/rain/lightning alerts for our area in FL and Tampa. Know it's been a very wet summer for you.

Okay, best get at it and see what damage I can do. (Hopefully it's not "damage" but "constructive"). :P

Our Sunday was made very special by our dneighbor coming over and pulling our refrigerator out and cleaning out the coils and the floor behind it. It's not easy in an RV because there's a hump for the installed carpeting in front of it for the slides to go in and out. So it meant trying to get the fridge over the hump and then it ran into the floor register as she pulled it out. Well then of course she couldn't get back there as there was no room at all to squeeze by. So her dh came over then and helped her get it out and again when they put it back in. One reason we needed it done was because there was condensation in the freezer. She realized when she put her hand at the top there was cold air coming out. So, between her and dh they managed to take the freezer door off, put in some washers so they could raise the level of the door. Now maybe it'll run correctly (I hope -that would be REAL SPECIAL). It's probably been costing us $$ for it to run to keep it frozen. We shall see. She's helped us do so much in the last few weeks. We're going to a fairly pricey restaurant that we all love in a few weeks and we plan to buy them dinner. Sure we'll catch some flack but that's ok.

Between dh and I we got a lol done this morning as well. I went down and got the LOL and got it folded while they worked on the fridge. It's now all put away. One thing I did yesterday was to pull everything out of our 'washer' closet in the bathroom. Dh has all his shorts/shirts/tank tops in 2 sets of plastic drawers in there. I figured out by moving them to the right side of the closet (and they still open ok) I could put our laundry hampers on the left and be able to pull them out so much more easily. So spent about half an hour in there changing things around. Happy with how it looks and works.

Did up our dishes a while ago and I've done some mopping. I keep a throw rug on top of the fridge to collect any dust -you can't really see it at all. Took it out to shake it and decided it needs more than a good shaking so will throw it in with the dark clothes next week and put it back on top of the fridge. So much easier than trying to wipe the top of the fridge -there's really not room between its top and the cabinet over it.

I was achy last night and woke up still achy. Right leg and back mostly. We're supposed to see the friends who have been redoing their kitchen this afternoon and see what theirs looks like. She has amazing taste so I know it will be impressive.

I've been piddling, slept until nearly nine and I've been watching off and on the Q's journey to Edinburgh. Now trying to clear kitchen island and table and plan the week. Glad to have a quiet morning!

Special here because it is Sept 11 21st anniversary remembrance. We've been listening to some of the coverage.

We may have the sun breaking through after so much rain recently it's been depressing! Keeping us inside.

Couldn't get to my usual service to watch this morning, so watched one that popped up on my youtube feed because I watched a dcousin's funeral service there the other day. Enjoyed that service - a very moving ordination within it, too.

Haven't been able to fully get through the cousin's funeral one yet, even though it happened earlier. When even the minister welled up with tears, I decided to wait a while and watch the rest. She was a beloved member there.

It will be Andy Griffith day on MEtv station, if a break from processions and remembrances is needed, btw. HRH has already found a moment to switch over to Mayberry after so much serious viewing.

Nancy asked a good question about our planning in Arts, Crafts and Needlework thread.

Spent a quiet morning with Sweetie watching the Queen and 9/11

Then had brunch with my son and granddaughter. After we ate we went to the park for some swing and slide time. Now home and Sweetie and I will settle in to watch the US Opens Men Final. Looking forward to that.

Church was enjoyable but weird to have such a low attendance. Where was everyone? Some sick, some on vacation, and some got in their feelings and decided to leave the church.

After church we picked DD11 up from DD46 home then met DGS25 at Golden Corral to eat lunch. DGS25 spent the whole lunch telling us about his new job.

Then we went to Lowes to get a kitchen faucet. Last night the kitchen faucet broke while DH was using it. Thankfully it didn't spew water or anything distressing like that. The faucet just broke, flopped over sideways and died. :)

Next up - plan menu for the week.

found my earlier post:

today is special because it is raining and it is a cool but not cold. I was able to work in the yard bc it wasn't pouring. it smelled like being in the wilds of Canada today. wonderful! lots of good memories. my parents, brother and I would take a water plane into the wilder parts of Canada for fishing - I am not a fisherman but I loved the nature and climbing over the beaver dams - portaging over land with our canoe's. This kind of weather reminds me of my dear dad!

This weather also reminds me of the woods in door county. Again wonderful memories.

Dogs had a blast and are sitting in the laundry room until they dry off.

d dee what lovely neighbors that you have!!! Glad that they were able to help!
I am happy that you love how the area looks and works.
good for you and your dh
