Chocolate Day Tuesday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Have a little chocolate while you work today! What fun!

Supposedly it's "International Chocolate Day!" https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/inte ... olate-day/

I know it's another one of those "made up" holidays but isn't it fun to think of chocolate? Dark and luscious!

Shucks! And I could have had my waffle with N utella this morning! Had it with jam instead. Editing: However! I did have chocolate (S nickers) C offee Mate creamer in my coffee. :D

Dh has been cooking plantains this morning. He'd had fried plantains in El Salvador years ago and wanted to try them. Smoke alarm went off many/many times till I was crazy and plugging my ears. He couldn't leave them to try to get it off. I had the screen door open and he finally turned on the fantastic fan. Place was loaded with smoke. At any rate it was a failed effort. He has one more to go and I hope that curbs his curiosity.

My lawyer is calling at 11 and I'm finding myself nervous, but why I have no idea.

I bought a pair of jeans earlier this summer and they've been awaiting hemming ever since. I at least have them out here to get started with the process. It's one of those projects that I've listed the several steps to getting 'er done. I have a much older pair of jeans and really needed them today, but found they're in the laundry. So put on a pair of capris and will try to get a good start on the jeans. Have the directions that Harriet posted eons ago on how to hem them.

Have a great day, everyone!

Good Morning!

It is another long day for me. At least if I am busy, maybe I will stay out of trouble?

PODA -
** trash to road
** DD11 to/from public school
** DS14 with his boss @ worksite 2 hours away. Last night DS14 completed 6 of 7 homeschool assignments for today.
** Update and print DS14 work log from last week so he can get paid.
** Prep food for lunch with elderberries. I'm making Pie Crust cookies and Summer squash casserole
** 11am Lunch with Dfriends
** DH checking on his DMom and spending a few hours with her.
** I will pick up DD11 from school and go directly to the city -
** Attwood for rabbit food
** WM for list items
** Sam's to pickup order & 2 prescriptions for DH
** DD11 appt with therapist
** Meet DGS25 to loan him rent money. He is scheduled to be evicted tomorrow.
** Pick up Sonic/subway for supper on the way home.
Arrive home just in time to get DD11 into shower and wash her hair.

Workers are back today finishing up loose ends, I hope. Although the other guy has to finish the pantry and the project manager is supposed to be lining up a part that was incorrect. Their challah, which I promised, is in the oven baking. Once it's finished I'll go out (again) to finish errands:
-pedicure
-pick up dress
-drugstore
-maybe wash car?
-put gas in car

We're going to drive to ATL tomorrow a.m., leave our car at dfriends house and Uber to the airport with them.

Break to cool down, hydrate and update SHE card spreadsheet.

Today's harvest from garden = tomatoes, 3 varieties of peppers, sweet potatoes, and summer squash. The volume of harvest is reduced since the plants are recovering from the 60+ days of over 100F temperatures. But the plants are covered in blooms so hopefully they will return to normal production until November (our typical first freeze).

thank you for sweetening up our day d twins!
so happy your kitchen is at the finishing stage! It will be nice to have the simplicity back without interruptions.
Happy errand day!

hi d dee.
my dd's love plantains as well. you don't have to cook them on high. If it is letting off smoke then it is too high.
hope the anxiety leaves soon.
happy jean hemming

I pulled out the tomatoes - they didn't do well anyway
I did a bit of weeding in zone 2 b veg area.

I had left my weeding tool in the garage - I picked it up and voila I put it down and lost it. I am frustrated that I can't find it. I have to readjust my thinking and just keep going. (found it in the bucket I use for pulling weeds). 8-)

I have a new great nephew! So exciting - he was born at 2:21 am, 20.5 inches and 7lbs. he is adorable! I am thrilled his mom is doing well! A lovely couple.
