I napped. I shouldn't, but I couldn't get to sleep last night and then woke up early this a.m. Other than that, I've piddled about. I have tried to find a replacement sponge mop head for the Libman sponge mop I have. The deal seems to be that sponge mop heads get discontinued so you have to buy a new mop. I like the sponge for cleaning the concrete screened porch floor.

Dh is home puttering around before bowling.

DD11 is okay. She is just tired, got overheated on the swings (temperature is 99F today), as well as being in THAT time of the month.

I've collected DH, DMIL, DS14 and DD11 food order for tonight and loaded all the items into the app to order. It is family night at Sonic which means 1/2 price hamburgers. I'm choosing not to get myself take-out fast food. I'm making my own version of fast food at home = Xtreme Wrap stuffed with rotisserie chicken & vegetables.

My step count is low low low today. As soon as I get home from DMIL's then I will use the push mower until I meet my step goal. I am sooo ready for cooler weather to arrive.

After 2 nights in a row of home made soup (Ham hock with white beans and cabbage) we had Chinese food tonight.

Cathy, I love Chinese food. We don't have a good Chinese restaurant here any more. One we liked has been closed and out of business.

I liked your story too, Blessed! Oh, by the way, we do not have basements here in Florida, the water table is too high. We would all have indoor swimming pools if we tried to build basements! The painting DH is doing is the porch slab, on top of the texturing we did. I'm liking the way it's all starting to look. I'm thinking if I had a nice basement, DH would have it filled with more of his junk, so it's best we don't have one. We also don't have much of an attic either. Just a space up in the trusses if we put plywood down first, but not a very big space where we can stand up. So garages and sheds are our only storage spaces. Probably why there's a commercial storage facility on almost every corner down here.

I made a big bowl of chicken broth. We took the veggies out of it and DH and I ate some of them. It is strained now and in the refrigerator. If any fat comes to the surface I will skim that all off. From the meat I made chicken salad which we had in whole wheat buns for dinner tonight. I also made 4 small packages of pineapple jello. I never knew they had pineapple jello, just lemon. This smells just like a fresh pineapple. (It's probably all chemicals). Not a very healthful diet, but it is only one day. DH wanted to know if he could put whipped cream on his jello. Ah, NO! When it's all over, then yes, so I will get some.

Only 7 days this time (better than 11 previously) to wait for the snail mail for HRH's email password. This one actually does work. So that was 18 straight days without email and as you can imagine, hundreds of emails were waiting, including medical appointment reminders and requests for response.

We're having chili tonight. I had no tomato sauce but made it from tomato paste. Haven't done that in years.

Took care of the 2 youngest of dd's boys today including a live lesson in what seemed to be geography? A mix of the concepts of where you live and what it's like, the globe, maps. Youngest grandboy was determined to put "west" rather than "east" in our region of southeast, because yesterday he had to learn the western hemisphere and said he wasn't supposed to unlearn "west". Eventually he did a really good job answering all the questions, but he was discouraged about such confusion.

Twins', I hope you are feeling better.

Also Mr. DeeClutter. (don't do too much).

Meant to say that youngest grandboy was able to call me himself, tell me what time he needed help with a large live classroom zoom, and explain his 2 oldest brothers would be at the dentist with his Mom. I didn't miss a single word he was saying. This is a big improvement since he's been living here. His hearing and speech are getting better by leaps and bounds.

Visited colorist yesterday. Just did a trim on my own. No time for much more. It's still too long, really.

HRH and I each had 2 bowls of chili with French bread (maybe too much) while watching The Great British Baking Show. Fun, and possibly comforting, to have that back on NFlix. HRH is much more interested in the people than I am at first. Then we sort of switch, and he cares only about the mistakes they are making and the competition. He really concentrates on the technical, and makes predictions about the order of finish and the words Paul will use to criticize.
