Hi all. We'll be warm for a while here. But not as bad as Mid-summer. It is only 79° degrees now but supposed to go up to about 85°. It's the humidity that makes it feel so hot here. I wore a cardigan sweater today with my top because they told us the surgery center is very cold. I've been in cold medical facilities before. This was NOT cold. Surprising.

I took a crossword puzzle book and a book to read. The book wasn't interesting, and the crossword was one of those difficult ones I don't do so well (I'm NOT a genius after all). So finally I got into their WiFi and played a game on my phone. DH was done in a little under 2 hours. The Dr. came out to talk with me and I said I was surprised it was this soon, and he gestured to the back rooms and said "They don't mess around back there". So nothing major found, little problem dealt with and the few things they see are normal to most people our age. Not concerning. And nothing he has to go back for. So we're pleased and happy it's done now, he's good for 10 years (so they say). I like this doctor, he's very nice. DH is a little loopy, he's eaten, we stopped and I got gas in the car and brought him and a sandwich home. He's back in bed for a nap.

That's my big accomplishment for the day. We also stopped on the way and brought home another gallon of paint for the porch. He thinks it needs another coat. I told him, the nurse told him, and his instructions say...not to do that painting today. He was considering it.

I guess I'll work on my last day of the study. I have to finish it today.

(Blessed) be easy with yourself. You've been doing a LOT of work. Sometimes our bodies tell us take a break.

Dee I'm glad you talked with someone. Boy you sure didn't need an additional problem.

My DMom had h pylori also. It was discovered when she had a bleeding ulcer that landed her in the hospital. I remember studying h pylori years ago and realizing it could be lying dormant since childhood and if one family member has it then most likely everyone in the house has it. I have assumed since then that I probably have it too, but I seem to remember that h pylori bacteria doesn't cause problems for most people. (((Dee))) it is a complicated medical situation that you and DH are dealing with. Lots of things happening with your DH at the same time. Hang in there!

My morning has been mostly smooth going. I've been busy and feel good about what I've accomplished. It seems to take me longer than it should to do the daily routines, but I do have a tendency to sidetrack and have to redirect myself more than once.

Homeschool is done (YEAH!) with a great attitude from DS14.

Last night DD11 counselor called and visited about the possibility of her seeing DS14 also. Her concern was if the kids would be okay talking to the same counselor (I think they will be) and if DS14 would be comfortable talking to a female counselor (I think he will be okay with it). The kids will meet with the counselor on different days and their appts won't be back-to-back. I knew there was a waiting list to get into this counseling service, but it worked out better than I expected. When I called to get DS14 seen by a counselor they told me it would be 12 weeks, but it is going to happen in under 4 weeks.

DH is with his DMom today and has called with information about medications that will be delivered to our home today. It is controlled meds and must be signed for. I will remain aware of the camera system today so I will be sure and not miss them.

I made smoothies for DH and DS14 breakfast this morning.

I made another stir fry today for my food. I enjoyed yesterdays stir fry so much that I couldn't think of anything else that I would rather eat. I switched some of the ingredients today to increase the variety of micronutrients. I will make a smoothie for myself later.

I will be cooking pork sirloin and homemade mac and cheese for the kids today.

((((Blessed))))) I have BTDT and depression can sneak up of a person. I must be very methodical about what I do when I feel the depression cloud start to hang over me. It is during those times that just doing the very basic daily tasks can be a huge challenge. IMHO, do whatever it takes to actively combat the cloud of depression settling over you. Seek medical attention, set up a schedule, select affirmations to repeat frequently, get plenty of sunshine, and/or anything else that might help. ((((Gentle Hug))))

Thank you, all, for any and all info. I'm pretty impressed with the PA from the Gastro's office. After he talked with us via/phone he also sent a message to us urging us to talk to cardiologist tomorrow re: the Eliquis. I guess it's the pepto bismol part of the treatment that interferes with the Eliquis diminishing its effectiveness. He wants us to get back to him (online) as soon as we know how long dh has to be on the Eliquis and then they'll either resume this regimen OR they'll do something different. We had expressed how difficult it is to talk with anyone in his office and he agrees wholeheartedly. He said the system that puts ALL calls into a main switchboard at one of their hospitals (and you're lucky if the right office gets back to you) is there for the forseeable future and they're not happy with it either. But online is the way to go and he seems quick to answer.

Nodding along with LadyM on her advice to bw2. As the days get shorter I try to guard against falling into depression. Do what you need to feel like you're taking care of yourself - put your pajamas on at 6 p.m. if you need to and rest! Getting outside to garden as you is so good for you also. With cooler weather I am going to walk more.

I have the deadline for my portfolio submission in two months and three days. I can extend but don't want to. Once RH is over, I'll start a push to the end. This has GOT to be done and off my mind!

Of the two things I took to UPS to return, I've received the refund email for one and not the other. Weird.

I ran across my "chore bingo" slips earlier and think I'll do a round. Making a list now, there are so many little OMM things that I keep thinking I'll get to and this would be a good chance to try to knock some out. I only have 14 on my list. My rules for chore bingo are that I have slips that correspond to my numbered list. I draw a slip and do the job. I cross the job off the list when done, but if it takes more than 15 minutes, I stop, put the number back in to the bowl and don't cross it off. I'll get back to it eventually, maybe. I work for 45 minutes before breaking for 15. I'll be off at the BOTH, back at :15 after.

Didn't get much done. Dfriend M came by with R uby and we walked a couple of laps and hung out to talk awhile. Then she needed to go out to go to the dump - and I was able to send stuff with her! (And she took the broom I was discarding - it was well used cleaning up after the construction but she's going to use as a garage broom.)

So I need to get started again now...working to :15 before the hour!

Coming back through after 45...resting for 15 now. I need to take out scallops to thaw too.

Tonight's menu is home made meat loaf with boiled whole beets and mashed potatoes from a box. I like the fact that dh enjoys the boxed mashed potatoes as much as regular mashed potatoes that take a lot of time and energy. These are a new thing in my pantry.

I made a major mark in the weeds - I still have some in the back that attention - my neighbor behind me does not weed but I am thinking I might do a little for them unless he yells at me. I am thinking of offering him some soil etc. when the young man comes next year. (on me).I will see if he is okay with it.

I bought a leaf mulch-er today. the cost of having leaf mulch down in the back is over $1,400. I bought the mulching machine for $213. Hopefully it works well this fall.
