Dishes never stop.

Re: First Fall Friday!
Morning…
Not much new around here… just maintaining my routines and going to my exercise classes. Sunday I go to my orientation class for working at the animal rescue and I’m excited about that. Can’t sign up to do anything there at the center until I take this class.
I don’t know about Harmony, but I am going to start my hurricane preparation today. I already have much of what I need, but still need to get my propane gas tank filled and a few others things to secure the outside furniture I have that I can’t bring in to the house. Our neighbor next door is teaming up with Sweetie so they can work together in getting ready for the storm which is suppose to hit around Wednesday.
We have shutters that were installed a few weeks ago the cover all of our windows so I’m not worried about that. This will be Sweeties first storm. No way to prepare him for that. Neighbors have told us that they didn’t loose electricity during the last big storm because our utilities are under ground, but I’m prepared in case we do.
Dee..so sorry that your DH is having such medical problems. My PA in Mesa was the best!
Blessed.. I agree with all suggestions mentioned above. Sometimes I just need a few days to take time off and just be still. Sitting in the sun or being outside really helps me.
LadyM… glad to hear the your counselor is so accommodating. My son’s was a female and he loved her. He started seeing her when he was 12 and continued with her off and on until he was out of high school.
Off to start my day… first to my exercise class, then HDepo, grocery store and filling my car with gas.

Re: First Fall Friday!
The east coast of Canada is having a huge storm this weekend. Cat 3 I think.
Cleaning lady just got here. Dishes are all done. Clean laundry is in the dryer because I want to put it on the wrinkle-away setting. Just a bunch of t shirts. I have a partial load in the dishwasher waiting for tonight. There are a few things in the washing machine. Other than that, I could say the house will be done when cleaning lady leaves.... but.... there is a huge pile of pants that need to be tried on before I donate them. I would like them to be gone out of here today, but I really doubt that will happen.

Re: First Fall Friday!
Fifty-eight when I got up and I am loving it! I hope LadyM is getting this weather soon too.
Today I need to do brisket, may need to do two shifts. I'm not sure if meat and veggies will all fit in one roasting pan. And the pan itself is so big with a domed lid I can't do two at a time. I took a meat loaf out of the freezer for our dinner and I'll make a salad or maybe something else green to go with it. I can make meat loaf in the toaster oven if the oven is still tied up with brisket.
Also more house clean up and a list for tomorrow when dcleaning lady will be here. Do I want to try to clean up my office? It's a mess. If she made up the day bed and was able to vacuum the floor it would go a long way. I need to continue with garage clean up. Not sure what's out there. Dh stacked things up and I found a box that was supposed to go to goodwill still out there, so I need to load up the car and take some things. And I need to do more filing.

Re: First Fall Friday!
Good morning!
No fall weather here yet. Our temperature continues to be in the high 90's. But I know it will eventually happen so the anticipation is high. I love hearing how others are enjoying fall weather.
DH has left to go be with his DMom and will be there for at least the next 24 hours. His DBro announced that he needs a weekend at the lake and has dropped out of the sibling rotation of care.
This morning both kids have their yearly well child appointment with our family doctor. Eeeks! I just looked at the clock and realized that I need to get them ready for that and out the door.

I need to get myself moving. First up, get the brisket in the oven. I can't seem to get myself moving. I just finished brunch.

Re: First Fall Friday!
oh my goodness; where did this day go?!!!
I was up at 9 (actually I was up earlier but kept nodding off).
I shooed dh out of the kitchen - he keeps closing doors behind me, stops the dogs from playing with their toy etc.
he doesn't like cold and I am thrilled to have a chill in the 2 rooms I have all to my own. I get the kitchen and the family room to heat as I like. (well not really but I am figuring something out so dh doesn't overheat my area. He can go anywhere in the house with it being hotter.
I just want to say hello!!!!!!
I have to finally start working!
I wish you all the best today!!!!

Re: First Fall Friday!
I know, bw2, I know. I just now got the brisket in the oven and now I need to clean up the kitchen. I ended up going to grocery and getting two foil roasting pans - I my big roasting pan and a foil pan, both covered tightly with foil. At least that's done.
I had over 10K steps yesterday and I have a sore foot still. I am using some arnica gel on it - a homeopathic remedy, but I also have voltaran or Icy/hot ready to try. And I just feel drained right now.
I am going to try for 45 min starting at BOTH to clean up kitchen. Also, the four things that didn't get done on chore bingo yesterday. I won't finish all these tho.
-15 min garage
-15 min filing
-put back up hooks for keys in the pantry, three cars, pool, dfriend M's house and extra house keys (labels too...)
-scrub or scrape label off the back of the counter stool we bought. It's on the the wood surface.

Re: First Fall Friday!
Taking a break…
So far I’ve been to HDepo to fill my propane tank, bought needed things to wrap up my outside tv. Went to ace hardware to buy a gas tank to hold extra gas for the car, went shopping at the grocery store where Sweetie was able to experience his first Hurricane shopping frenzy, and then gassed up my car and filled
The extra gas tank.
Came home, brought every thing in, rearranged my freezer, filled up several empty gallon containers with water and put in my freezer to freeze… I’ll put them in my refrigerator if I loose power…and am now making a schedule of what needs to be done.
Right now we’re looking at a Cat 3 hurricane. Many in my community stayed for the last one that was that strong without much problem. Our homes are built with a cinder block interior and must meet hurricane requirements. I’ve been through several storms this strong without storm shutters so I know what to expect. We plan to stay put unless there is a mandatory evacuation. The problem is not leaving, but trying to get back. Gas stations run out of gas and restaurants out of food making a return home very challenging.
