Twins… Sweetie made me laugh out loud after I told him about your Jewish New Year. He said considering all that we’ve been through since this time last year he was all for starting a fresh New Years but we needed to start after this storm. I really hadn’t give that much thought abt all our changes till he brought it up.

I told Sweetie not to worry if the electricity goes out because I have three board games we can play…Candyland, Shuts and Ladders and Sorry. I am easily entertained.

Harmony… do you have any macaroni on hand? You can always throw lots of veggies and stuff into it and stretch it out for a meal. That happened to me once when on a camping trip with 7 other people. I brought cooked macaroni, cut up veggies and some sausage with me along with a few cans of fruit. My friends thought the lodge would be open for dinner, but it wasn’t. We were suppose to be tent camping but a huge storm hit us. We were all able to stay in a large cabin but no ne had food but me.

I ended up making a huge Mac salad, sliced and fried the canned potatoes and cooked them with my sausage and made a fruit salad with cookies for dessert. The meal fed all 9 of us and 6 of them were men!

Sunny's idea sounds like a possibility, Dee.

blessed I've posted in PWYC most days but I think you've missed me because I've often been one of the late ones.

Just finished up a big plate of beans/rice/slaw. Happy tummy.

blessed
, I like that poem, because I was just talking to our willow oak that shades the front flowers. I was picking some of the thin leaves out of the flowers when one fell right in front of me and lodged onto a flower. I said, "hello up there, then" and it was funny until I looked up and realized there are a jillion of those leaves above. When they do decide to let go, whoosh, lol! (Most still green leaves, happily.) My dmother was so wise to plant a thin-leafed oak there, rather than a big leafed one. Very forgiving for raking, since you can't do much with them anyway, although they do still mat the ground and keep grass from being quite so free.

I looked and I have 1/2 pkg of egg noodles. Just now we heated up 2 cans of chili someone had given us and I put some leftover chili I had that I'd made from scratch. We mixed it all up together. Spicy! Nephew put some cheese and shredded chicken in his. DH had some. Friend not hungry. I'm having soup. She made some chicken noodle soup for little girl. Sigh...we are getting through. I think I'll make a big bowl of popcorn in a bit.

They helped put sheets on the 2 beds and nephew did help with the chores, the last panels, carrying the big glass table in, getting the generator fixed, and he helped when DH fixed the toilet. So. Now we wait. I have 5 eggs... 1 lb bacon, bread for toast,

DH went across to the convenient store that has a sub shop inside and they were just closing. It's in the neighborhood, too late.

We have cinnamon bread for breakfast. We'll not starve. Little girl only wants to play with her little nintendo.

I know I shouldn't worry but I'm not used to having company and not being on top of things.

It's coming to RRose about Wed afternoon or thereabouts. We are after that. All during Wednesday night for us will be annoying. Please no storm surge. Please please please.

The (prior) owner (but still in charge) of the campground has a house in Englewood, FL. It sits less than a block from the Gulf actually. Guess he flew down there either yesterday or today. I was surprised but he's worried about his home there. Not where I'd want to be with this storm coming in. Not sure if he's staying there or elsewhere, but he wanted to be able to check out his house.

DD said they're predicting with the newest track for Ian to come right over them at a CAT 3. Is that what you're hearing, Harmony? (She's on the East side of Lakeland.) She was supposed to be working her 'fun job' in Tampa with pre-season games this week/weekend. Not happening of course.

Watching, watching... (((Harmony, Dee's dd, Rose, Sunny's dsons))) (((My brother)))...
I have to say I have especially big (((HUGS))) for you, Harmony, with all those people underfoot. Like Sunny said, maybe the younger ones will prove useful.
People should let you know their plans in time to prepare.
DEFINITELY!

And (((DEE))) -- ooohhh -- that IS a huge cost for medicine! Surely they can find some other alternative, or the manufacturer can provide some kind of aid -- I know some of the advertised meds on tv say if you have trouble paying for XXX to contact -- someone -- ? (I'm not really offering much help here. But don't give up on getting insurance approval! Talk to the pharmacists and your doctor and maybe they will know some way to get that cost lowered.)

So today I can count as a wee bit productive --
* drug store
* tax office
* post office
* dh filled up the car
* 3 loads of laundry done. Still have probably 3 loads to do, but none are big loads. I really intended to change the sheets today, but after eating supper, I had another "spell" of coughing-coughing-coughing and I am exhausted now. I think I need to lie down for a little while and let my last round of meds (tessalon pearles -- sp?) take effect.

Spent a LONG time on phone with dmom today; we hadn't talked in several days so LOTS to catch up on, and of course, with my dbro in the same town with Dee's dd, she is worried about him. She kept getting a "number out of service" message when she called him, so I sent him a text and he called her, set her mind a little more at ease.

:!: OH -- I got that error message on this site late last night/early this morning also! BIG, BIG THANK YOU to Kathryn and Ken for getting us back online!!!
Waving to EVERYONE!!!
Tomorrow is another day.

DD just texted with an 'updated expected rainfall': 25.95". Egads! They're so saturated now it's not funny as I'm sure Harmony and RR know. Can't imagine former owner staying at his place. I'd almost think he's in the mandatory evacuation area. Yi!

Lucylee and Sunny. I've looked at our pharmacy (good rx) and that's even more. Looked up what you said, Sunny, and it only has that as the formal name of the Eliquis. When I tried the 'see if you qualify' for the cheaper co-pays it ended up more than what we're already paying. So, for now, anyway I guess we're just outta luck. It's the same with his COPD med.

Dee…. It’s turning towards us then up towards Harmony. Still very quiet. I set up my laundry room in case of a tornado. Plan for the worst and hope for the best!

Wish I could send Harmony some of my food. I don’t care about food, I just want a hot cup of coffee in the morning. May make a pot and put some in several of my thermos that I have. I also bought some instant just in case. At least after the storm I can heat up a small pot of water on my gas stove.

Sweeties shaving right now…. Guess he wants to look good when Ian arrives. Wonder how many babies will show up 9 months from now. Bet Ian will be a popular boys name then :D

WOW! So much rain is all at once!

We need rain but I don't think anyone would welcome that much at once. On the way to pick up DD11 from school yesterday, I snapped this picture. It doesn't show what I was trying to capture, which was the sky was filled with about a mile long and high cloud of dust. When I saw our red sky it reminded me of pictures of the 1930's dust bowl days when the sky was filled with blowing dirt. It is so dry here when the tractor preps the fields, the dust cloud can be seen for miles.

DSisIL called saying DMIL has taken a turn for the worst. DH is so exhausted that I didn't want him driving so I left the kids here and drove DH. DMIL is so frail and prefers to stay covered up to her chin with heavy blankets. DMIL knew who I was and chatted with me a few minutes. DH and his siblings have an appt with funeral home on Friday to make final arraignments. DS14 called to let us know a buyer was coming for one of his FB marketplace deals. We don't allow DS14 to meet with strangers alone, so we came back home to be with him. DSIsIL will be staying all night with DMIL tonight.

I went online and registered DD11 to attend a youth conference this weekend. This will be her first experience with that type of event. It is being held in Missouri so they will have about 8 hours of travel there/back.

I'm watchingthis youtube channel that is live showing the tornados happening in Florida.

I will go back and look at that video. Thanks. My news station is reporting about the tornadoes down her way.

I remember a lot of babies being born 9 months after the electric blackout in New York City!

I found a frozen thing of OJ in the freezer and made that for tomorrow. Nephew hooked up some box he had to our TV and put a movie on. I watched a bit of it but then I had things to do and couldn't just sit there. DH went to bed. The rest of them finally went off to bed too. He works night shift and hasn't been to sleep in a long time.

I straightened everything up. Stuff I usually do. This time I was aware of just how much I do every evening. Recharged coffee pot for the morning. Fixed DH med boxes and mine. It would be hard to do that during a storm.

RRose, I'd be happy with just coffee too. I can give up food before I can give that up. I do have powdered creamer and instant coffee just in case we lose electric. I have a little metal percolator I can put on the grill and make a small pot that way too. (It's for camping). They keep talking about the storm surge. I keep getting alerts on my cell and they even call my regular phone to get out (or shelter in place).

This storm is very very big. Ramblin is getting the outer bands, the eye isn't near her yet. I think I should get some paperwork gathered up and in something waterproof. DH says I shouldn't bother but it just makes me nervous.

Dee, a block from Eng. beach is a very bad place to have a house right now. I wish him luck. I haven't been able to sit and watch the reports very much, but that is a lot of rain for Lakeland. If they are getting that much, what will we be getting?
