Blessed, can you give us an idea of your dd’s location? How close to the beach are they?
Looks like it came ashore near Ft Myers, right?
On tv they keep talking about storm surge. How far inland does that reach?

Re: Waiting and Watching Wednesday PWYC
I have finally received a text from Harmony. She said that are in the bands just at the top of the eye. She can hear things scraping, but can't see through the shutters. It's battering the house, but so far they're ok. They are listening to the radio; no electricity. I guess their area has lost power.
Also had a text from Ds#1-C in Holiday, which is 20 miles north of Clearwater FL. He says they are having rain, but so far not bad.
DSis was asking about Rose and hoping she is doing ok!

Re: Waiting and Watching Wednesday PWYC
Thank you for the report Sunny. Glad to hear that they are ok so far.
Lucylee, there's a graphic here of the storm surge, but I don't have any context for it - i.e. how far inland RR or bw2's family might be. https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/graphics_at4.s ... t#contents

Re: Waiting and Watching Wednesday PWYC
hi dear ones
the wind is slowing down a lot - no more rattling. they won't go downstairs to the lower part of the condo until closer to 7
they live in zone A in Naples. right on the gulf.
I wish I could share the video.
My brother is sure that their cars are ruined. thank goodness dd younger took out all her camera equipment.
No electricity and it is super hot as they have the shutters etc. shut.
thank you d sunny for sharing about d harmony!!!
My brother and his friend will prepare to go south with their tools once the water subsides to fix mom's window etc. and my uncles house which we are sure flooded. He is in bear's paw in Naples near the canal.
I am thinking of everyone in Ian's path!
praying for safety for all!!!

Re: Waiting and Watching Wednesday PWYC
Joining in the hoping and praying that our SHEs and families in Ian’s path (and, well, everybody, really) will be safe.
Having an Idonwanna kind of day. Did some payroll work (finally figured out when I want to spell out element names and when I want to use the abbreviations). Got a sinkful of dishes into the dishwasher. Got DC to and from school. And really haven’t done much else. Was going to make stew for dinner, but the stew beef I thought was there wasn’t. So DH is making kielbasa with potatoes and onions. I really need to make at least a brief shopping list.
A dfriend made arrangements for her DH and an electrician friend of his to come by last Friday. She whisked me away so I wouldn’t be mortified to have anyone in my house (I was still mortified but less so). Anyhow, the electrician figured out what is wrong and what needs to be done, but I’m not sure what DH has arranged about actually having it done. Once it’s done, we can get the new stove and refrigerator in. I’m looking forward to making the grocery list then!

Re: Waiting and Watching Wednesday PWYC
Thank you for the updates.
I hope the men don't try to leave for blessed's Mom's house until they are sure roads are passable, even roads in Mom's neighborhood. Thinking of downed trees that can be localized surprises. Sure do wish their cars might be okay!
What a delightful friend, Mystery!
Nancy, a place near here makes a delish sandwich of variety of thin-sliced veggies with a sweet salad dressing as the condiment. They either add or don't add cheese or avocado, depending on the customer's preference, and I'd always ask them to leave off their hot-type banana peppers. When I went out for lunch with some of the church folks, we'd all get that sandwich and have it our favorite ways. I've had fun trying to mimic that sandwich at home. It's never exactly like theirs, but always good. I think they use a sweet onion dressing that has made it so popular - it's a trade secret of theirs though.
HRH handled the pharmacy errand and also did a light grocery shopping trip just because of heavy rains coming in. He made his celery/onion stuffing/dressing. Just in the mood for it, I guess. Smelled like sage in the kitchen.
He played a game online with dd42's boys. She and I talked on the phone.

Re: Waiting and Watching Wednesday PWYC
I've made contact with RamblingRose and they are safe. Their home is damaged but is standing strong. I can't imagine the experience RR, Harmony and others have experienced by being in the path of a direct hit by a hurricane.
