I'm still thinking over the Rabbi's sermon from Monday. I hope no one minds if I post the closing paragraph. (The reference to crawling or riding a bus is to a story earlier in the sermon about a Holocaust survivor's promise to a dear friend who died before liberation.)
The original Latin for the phrase “Time Flies” is “Tempus fugit.” That means we are fugitives from time. This year, may we instead be captors of time, slowing it down, breaking the bonds of habit, finding joy in every day, and doing whatever it takes, traveling by bus or crawling if we have to, to participate in special moments. In this period of renewal, the world is truly being born anew, and none of us know how much time we will have, so let us, at every opportunity, be prepared to enjoy a slice of life.

I'm up - stayed up well beyond 10 p.m. reading the last two nights and I'm feeling the effects. Today I'm getting my flu and COVID stabs at 10 at the local CVS and then I need to run into Staples to pick up an online order.
Need to get in the shower, I've lollygagged enough.

Dfs got his power back yesterday after Fiona hit Nova Scotia. My cousins have all reported in but I'm waiting to hear from friends who live near landfall, in a mobile home, across the street from a cove. We visited with them last month.
Will pop back in later. Off to get a long overdue hair cut. I still don't have a regular stylist (mine retired in 2021) and this cut is 4 months overdue. That's due to: 1. my reticence to make phone calls and 2. the guy never calling or texting me back. I loved the cut he did. Today's is at a place recommended on my local FB group.
CI~Good news: coughing did not keep me away and I do not have muscle aches.
I had a slight 99*fever in the nite. I was up a bit dealing with that.
Then back to bed till 7:30 It is raining here this morning.
This is normally my writing day.
Today I will mop upstairs for some activity. * = done

Had bfast.
Coffee is good.
Hydrating temp. is normal now at last check.

Lunch is cooking.

Yes, Twins, DD and crew are doing fine. They've even started to remove the plywood from their windows. A tree across the street came partly down, across the road and into their yard slightly before dark last night. Dsonil, DD and neighbors down the street got together and cleared it enough that trucks could get through. See they finished the job this morning. Our biggest fear -their trees, are all standing. A bright spot in their day was watching their DBiscuit splash through the pools of water in their yard. She thinks it's her own personal swimming ponds. Still praying for so many especially along the Gulf coast. The storm surge was unbelieveable! Waiting to hear something from Harmony and RR. DD didn't even lose power, just lots of limbs and water, water everywhere!
I'm trying to decide what to place where in this RV as far as these go: my desk, set of drawers by that, my recliner, Dh's recliner, his chairside stand, and our table & chairs. After 11 years I'm ready for a change. Dneighbor is supposed to help me organize and change Saturday. Think I can gain some space by cleaning off the shelves of the desk under the computer/printer. She's bringing her good vacuum so we can do a good job with that. My only problem is I realize we scheduled this the same day as DGniece's wedding. Oops! Hopefully we can make it work. "But first"! Think I have to reorganize the cabinets under our TV -they go the entire width and I should be able to make space there for much from under the desk. Wish me luck.
