Honoring our memories - PWYC Thursday

Post by Twins' Mom »

Yom Kippur includes a "Yiskor" service when our departed loved ones are remembered and honored. With thoughts of yesterday still on my mind today, I thought we could take a moment today to remember our own losses, and the loss of LadyM's dmil yesterday.

It seems this is a season of remembrance of losses and YK always sharpens it for me. My dsis died two days before YK in 2017 and dh's mother, my dmil, died 17 Oct in 1993. Others are spread throughout the year, but I suspect my dsis will always be associated with YK for me.

LadyM's family is mourning her dmil - their paternal matriarch - today.

I need to s2s and get to body work at 10 today.

Thank you rambling, text away. I still don't understand how I'm here.

Sorry I posted twice last night.

Keeping ladyM and her family in my thoughts and prayers.
A lot of lives lost with this storm, thinking of them at this difficult time. Also thinking of Dee and Twins with their losses in the past. So many others, Sunny not so long ago. Nancy too.

Ok, today's news, DH is out on his bike. He shouldn't be. Monday I took him to ER at very busy hospital the only 1 open for40 miles. They wanted to reroute him to a center set up for less important things, but dH's knee had gotten so bad he couldn't walk. So he got attention and x-ray etc. And Rx for gout or cellulitis type infection, antibiotic. And pain killer.

In other news the tree cutters are in our neighborhood and I saw a boom truck drive by. Looking better for service soon.

I'm trying to organize my desk which has a good working el. outlet, and hearing aids get charged here and. Phones and coffee pot yay. As long as the generator is running. Hardest thing is keeping track of where things are in this disarray here!

Rrose, they rebuilt the pine island bridge in 3days and their store is open.

I got my other radio going, found the last 2 batteries and haveocal news on!

Honoring our memories.
Every so often I remember to dedicate my day to a loved one. I haven't done that in awhile. I am thankful to have this reminder.

Today: I will be thinking of all of you and d lady and her family.

d Nancy hello - how wonderful that you slept well. what a good idea to manage your energy. have a wonderful day.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
donated some pumpkins to our landscape man for his grand daughter.
I will get 3 to our neighbor's children
our neighbor next door would want more but he is pretty wealthy so I struggle with giving more to an adult. He asked me but I think my joy is to give it to family and neighborhood kids. (I was going to bring some to the food shelter but I missed today's donation time).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
dh and I were going to do errands today but tomorrow is supposed to be cold and I would rather go when the weather is bad.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
hopeful goals:
finish planting the bulbs
water the back as it is so dry.
put away from garden
clean out the rest of veg garden and measure for the young man for Saturday -

I have been struggling with the pick it up and put it away as I am going. it seems like such a drain but I know it's the right thing so that I don't make a bigger mess. I want to do the best I can and not leave a place messier than it was before.
I keep thinking:
"work harder and better", but I have to ignore that feeling and just do what I can. no perfection. (even if progress looks small it is still progress). I keep telling myself that Progress doesn't mean making piles that I will put away later. Keeping my visual clutter low is better for me - that means take it there now even if it is hard.

----------------------
5x5
s2s
meds
put away kitchen, family room
water animals and birds
I should do dailies first but I will plant the bulbs first. I don't feel like it but it needs to be done.
decide on what you will do tonight instead of watching YouTube or movies. I haven't taken time for learning or crafts lately.
-----------------------
it is always a joy to be here with you!

First things first -now that I'm finally here. Lady M, you and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. As much as it is a time of mourning, may it also be a time of great blessings. Sending hugs with thoughts of peace.

Dh and I are going to the A T & T store this afternoon to hopefully purchase a long needed phone for me. Got a text the other day that his is now paid for, so now we'll start another payment for one for me.

Been tidying up around today and now need to get ready to go shopping with dh. He said he'd be home by 1.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

It is soo incredibly good to see Harmony checking in!

Thank you for the support and kind words. Dee - you said it well. It is a time of mourning but also a time of great blessing. DMIL was an amazing woman that had a positive impact on our lives. DH and I went to the funeral home this morning and took care of the final details....except writing the obituary. DSisIL and DBroIL didn't show up for this meeting. After the meeting I reached out to a cousin of DH to see if she would help write DMIL obituary. This cousin is a retired schoolteacher and an excellent wordsmith. Hopefully in the next few hours we can get the obituary finalized.

Meanwhile, regular life continues. I would probably curl up into a ball and stay in bed if I could, but the kids, dogs and rabbits need to be taken care of so I continue on. It is probably good that I stay busy.

DS14 has his first appt with counselor this afternoon. It took me weeks to get this appointment, so I don't want to cancel. I have a pile of papers to fill out and take to the appointment. I'll do those papers now.
