Tonight's menu at our house

Turkey thighs and drumsticks
Dressing or stuffing, whatever you prefer to call it
Cranberry sauce (home made)
Scalloped potatoes with cheese and onions
Mashed turnip or rutabaga, whatever you prefer to call it
Turkey gravy (maybe, haven't decided yet)
Carrots cooked around the turkey in the oven
Pumpkin pie with home made vanilla ice cream and whipped cream

We are having dh's best friend over to join us as his family is somewhere south of the border this week. Dd is going to her s/o's family today.

It rained overnight. It's cool here right now and overcast. I have very little to do around the house other than a couple of frying pans.

Since I posted this, the sun has come out and there are very few clouds in the sky and no wind. Dh and I will burn some cardboard and maybe toss on a few logs as well.

Morning…

Happy Thanksgiving to y’all up north

At it again with cleaning. Late Yesterday afternoon and into the night my power kept going on and off. I finally gave up and am at my list again. To add insult to injury, a huge thunderstorm with whipping winds started around 7 and soaked my dry rug and some of my cushions. Waiting for the sun to reappear so I can dry everything out. The winds were so strong they almost blew my plant stand with my plants over. Got soaking wet when trying to rescue them.

One step forward and two steps back

Off to start my day ….

Happy Thanksgiving Cathy and Kathryn! Hope you're having a wonderful Thanksgiving season whether you celebrate today or not!

I took care of calling dd and leaving a message about her tax return, and I emailed her the last bit of info she needs. Dh has sent me some additional info I needed, but not everything.

I took chicken out of the freezer for our supper. I'm trying to put off going to grocery until tomorrow.

I'm heading upstairs to work.

Where I go mess follows - I have always thought of myself as a girl version of pig pen from snoopy  - not in a bad way but in a real way. 8-)

I woke up to the stuff I had thrown down the stairs as well as all the laundry in the laundry room from dd Youngers room (again) that the cats laid all over from the 7 months of storing things in her room. I did toss 2 bags of dd's worn out cloths that I had kept.

I am tired of stuff shifting. dd lives in Florida and she will be staying there; even though I wished she lived here.

First things first:
dh is washing dishes by hand :D

laundry
washed :D :D :D
dried :D :D :D
put away :D :D
get outside collars on dogs and let them run :D
1. take everything at the bottom of the stairs (I tossed down) and either put away, toss, or donate :D
2. pick up and put away
A. front hall :D
B. dining room :D
C. family room
D. kitchen
E. laundry room

ordered new bug catcher :D
ordered the old joy hangers for my cloths :D
bought Christmas cards the other day :D
put aside more donations :D
tossed some cloths that are not comfortable anymore - too rough and then I don't wear it. :D
tossed dd yougners old work cloths from the beach - kept one shirt. :D
went out for lunch  junky food
ordered some groceries :D

oh D cathy that sounds wonderful!!!

hi d rose I am sorry you are still having problems with electricity. my dd younger told me that a storm came through. hoping the sun comes through to help soak up that water

hello d twins. enjoy your day!

hello everyone!!!

Hoping will (continue) to improve, Harmony & RR. Not fair heaping on top of what you've already been through.

I spent yesterday doing almost nothing. I really didn't feel all that well, but today I've been feeling better and quite busy. I'm breaking my day into "20 minute" segments and seem to be getting a lot more done. Intermittently I'm working on a box of photos that I want to give DGD27 before we go south. It's a slow process as I want to get some 'doubles' for us. I know she's going to be happy to receive this box of pics. I'm sure she's thought most of these (and a lot she won't remember) were long gone.

Dh says he keeps feeling better and better. Glad to hear that. Finally noticed in last day or so he doesn't seem to be hoarse any more. So we're holding up a bit before calling the Dr with his other symptoms. Plus he'll see his GP on Thursday morning. So may ask about the itching and increasing leg cramps then.

Trying to get back on track with my exercise too. So have ridden my exercycle for 4,000 steps so far.

I need to go get lab work done either tomorrow or Wednesday morning. I see my GP Friday afternoon.

Tomorrow I'm supposed to go to lunch with a dear friend here. She's more DD's age but we first knew her several years ago when she stayed here with her DD (who was undergoing treatment at Strong hospital here for Hodgkins Disease). She actually is from our 'neck of the woods' back in central NY. She and her (now former) husband came back here to camp a few years ago as her Dson, ddil & DGS lived nearby. The DD eventually passed away and when they came camping here we were able to reconnect. Introduced them to DS and DD and they've all become close friends.

Think I'll go work another 20 on this pile of pictures.........

Have a great day and Happy Thanksgiving to Canada folks!

Yesterday I thought it was going to rain again and I brought in all the clothes I had out there drying. Then it never rained. Today it is grey like that again so I don't know. RRose, I'm sorry everything got wet and you have to start all over. That is discouraging.

I have a lot of stuff on my desk to do and I did that and came back to pay a bill online. They had added a screen about hurricane stuff, lobby closed, etc. and I couldn't figure out how to get to my bill pay. I chatted with someone online and only later figured it out. I had X'd out the extra screen instead of logging in from there. Shaking my head....

I have slowed down to my regular speed (which isn't very fast). I have a load of towels to hang up and sheets are done washing. One more set of sheets after these.

Called our garbage dept. That took a while, asking about all my cans of leaves from the storm, will they take them from the cans? They definitely don't want them in plastic bags but I didn't know about cans. I have 7 cans full and probably piles for another 10 or so cans. I need these emptied first. We haven't had storm debris picked up yet but I hear they've started pickups. Our regular pickup didn't happen today yet either.

Now to check on my TV and see if I can get that going.
