Most of us aren't working "outside the home" as they used to say, so the weekend has less significance. But there's still something about Saturday!

For us, today is going to the river for a boat ride, followed by dh helping A get the boat out of the water. The wife of this couple, V, is having knee surgery next week, so this weekend is the last boat ride on that beautiful river gorge fr awhile. I think at some point we may watch some of the TN AL football game too. I hope Rose is able to watch it too. High hopes.

Services last night we outside in the sukkah, an outdoor "booth." Autumn is chock full of Jewish holidays. https://www.reformjudaism.org/jewish-holidays/sukkot Afterwards V and A came here for supper and a fire outside - we ordered out and send dh and A to pick up food. Beautiful evening but I'm already feeling peopled out. I know this will be a fun day and I can put my foot down about doing stuff tomorrow, I hope.

Need to s2s and get smoke out of my hair too.

New homemaking skill! Indoor propagation. My dfirstmil and my dear gardening aunt both used to do this skillfully, with my Aunt delving into multiplying many, many flowers to make her gardens less expensive. She would sell at Market.

Down at the base of the propagated leaf in a small 3oz-sized cup, little baby Halo's Aglitter African Violet leaves after 2.5 months! It almost looks like they are growing from more than one place out of the soil - more than one baby? Hmmm... .. I'll definitely keep it under the plastic for a while longer. Don't know how to do more except to watch youtube for instructions. The other leaf, propagated the same and right beside it under the same plastic, has none so far. At the literal last minute on both these, I had gone with a youtube lady's opinion of doing it without any rooting powder after all, just a very sifted potting blend and patience, and it seems to have worked.

The regular baby I transplanted at thimble-sized, that came off the mother plant as a surprise, is about 2 inches wide now with a bunch of leaves, very compact, and still seems to be the same variety as mother, by leaf appearance. Time to leave the plastic and go into a normal pot, maybe? and become a toddler.

The big baby that was already growing from the mother and has completely different, pointed leaves, is really lanky. It never had plastic cover and has grown wildly. Don't know what kind of blooms, if any, it might someday have - perhaps it is a reversion to a grandparent variety. May be an unattractive sport, but we'll let it try.

Oh you know I’ll be watching the game! My house is divided as my son graduated from the other university

Fingers crossed for this one. The university asked that all in attendance ware Orange. Can’t wait to see that.

Haven’t done much with my day, not that I care. Took a shower and washed my hair and am letting it dry naturally. My hair is now almost shoulder length and social media is filled with girls attesting to how they care for their wavy/curly hair. Decided I’m going give it a try, but I know it’s a learning curve. When my hair is this length or longer I always put it up in a bun at night…it’s great because it keeps my hair from breaking and when I take it down in the morning, it looks like I slept in roller.

So glad messy bun are popular right now because has hot and humid as it is it’s a great why to wear my hair. And then if we are going out to eat at night, or just some place in general, I can take my hair down and it looks great.

Harriet… my mom was great at growing new plants from old and I picked up some pointers from her. She had a huge planter built inside the house I grew up in and always was regrowing plants.

At the moment she has what my brother and I refer to as a jungle in her home. She started with a split leaf philodendron that she grew to 3 feet tall and from that she ended up with 8 more from her mother plant. As she grew older one of the things I would do for her when I visited was to help her pot new plants that she had taken from the mother plant and grown in glass jars.

Right now I just cut down a philodendron plant in my home and have the cuttings sitting in a glass pitcher waiting for the roots to grow. Once that happens I will pot them to another plant I have growing. I also have an a Avocado pit growing in some water.

My mom would grow anything she could. She would cut the tops of carrots with the leaves still on them, place them in a jar lid with some water and put them in a window sill. The only nice thing about this storm is it killed several of my large bushes which I have now remove. And they are the perfect place to put my very large pots so I can grow my sunflowers

I got up at 7 late for me but slept well yea!
have 34 granny squares left to do now I have 66 of them completed these are fun bc of all the fun colors I have of scrap yarns to
make up interesting combinations with!

I need to make up another batch of pie crust for my learning of meat pies,
this is not as fun as the others were because it was so new.

Kitchen is so so.
I need pans for the meat pies in smaller personal size.
on the hunt for those.
I will keep you posted.

My uncle had gout keep up on hydration as well I would add.
Careful on too much meat.

Back from a yard sale.
Went to a yard sale and could not resist a pretty plate, got some rubber stamps, and a veg. soup cook book,
greeting blank cards with a beach scene on them and stationary tablet small of red hats and purses!
And small foil pie tins score! Happy I remembered my cloth tote bag for my finds!
