Got a Christmas sweater cardigan, and tea print nite shirt.
Got low dose flu vaccine bc the high dose one made me ill, I was not going to get it but they were having a clinic so I just got in line after talking to the doc. about it. Pneumonia one in other arm.
Got Rx refills done.
Doing int. fasting doc. explained it basically no bfast, & no bedtime snack.
Got food unloaded and put away.
Walked ddog.
Watered front yard.
Hello. Brrrrr. I'm not ready for these low temperatures. They happened all of a sudden with no time to get used to lower temps. DH woke me in the middle of the night to get his blanket. It's been kept in the same chest for several years and why he needed help to get it and put it on the bed is beyond me. We were 45° this morning early. I will be getting out my warmer PJ's and warmer clothes for Thursday morning. I am still wearing my light cotton shorts and T-Shirt top. I was thinking it would warm up enough during the day and if I went outside I could put on my flannel shirt. They say tomorrow morning will be a bit warmer.
I know y'all are rolling your eyes but 60's is like freezing for us. That's how we put up with the hot temps in the summer, we get used to the heat. We don't get used to cold. Also we had windy gusts unusual for us also.
Some people around our region will not have internet until after the 1st of the year. Or later. Most of our county is up and running, but there's a small percent not set to have internet until end of November. I consider myself blessed to have been connected for 2 weeks so far. I still don't have a landline operational, but I was reminded by someone that maybe it's a good thing because people would perhaps be finding DH's name and calling for help.
Today he worked outside on his grass and weeds and cut the grass now that it's all raked. So I got to stay inside. I did a bunch of cooking. Made a big pot of chili and a casserole of ziti and I made enough salad for a few days. Cut up the chicken and made us sandwiches for lunch. So I don't have to think about cooking for at least a few days.
Twins, that was awfully nice of you to take the chili to your friend.

DH is out to youth group. They must have fixed their one building and are able to have the kids there.
I worked on my study and am ahead of the schedule now. It was pleasant to sit there in the quiet house and study for a change. Tomorrow we might be back at the fence work.
We missed the freeze or frost last evening. I don't think we really got a freeze at all, but definitely our closer canopy of trees helped against frost, which dd42 says was all over their out-in-the-open cars this a.m. One more threatening night and then it looks like as many as 10 days without frost. I had seen 32 as a low but now see 31 - hoping.
Dd42 got her Covid and flu shots in opposite arms yesterday and has had very little effects except arms feeling achy.
Twins', in Star Trek the Next Gen tv series, ornamental kale was used in gardens on alien worlds. It was so little-known in the mid-'80s that it fit the bill as a strange and alien-looking plant.

Dh agreed to music practice and we started and then the super showed up at the door with new air filters for the radiators. These are much better, pleated, ones that are HEPA rated. The old ones were a bit of fiberglass in a cheap paper frame that sagged so we had to put supports in underneath. The old style were the the ones that cost a dollar when we had a furnace and these ones are the sort that cost $15 - 20. Except these ones have to be custom made and it turns out I have 3 different sizes in my apartment. I would have sworn the two radiators under the identical sized windows in the bedroom were the same size. But they aren't. Our filters haven't been changed for almost 4 years (usually they were done annually.) They were still pretty clean, basically because the old filters didn't catch anything!
That process involved pulling a lot of furniture out so the radiators could be accessed. After he left we went back to singing and then I spent time putting things back. I think we are ready for tomorrow. I need to practice two songs in the morning but I can do that on my own since it is breathing in one case, and motions in another.
I took another break and then it was time to start cooking supper, Canadian Shepherd Pie (with garlic mashed potatoes on top and maple syrup glazed carrots.) I also cooked up another 2 pounds of ground beef and froze in 2c packets for when I need just enough precooked for a quick meal. And then I froze the remaining 3 pounds in single pound packages. While the casserole was in the oven, I washed up the cooking dishes so dh didn't have any cleanup tonight. I'm having a tea right now and then I'll start the dishwasher.
Dinner was good.
The evening was mostly wasted, but dh showed me his pictures from Europe. It was good to see where our honorary nephew is living and other parts of dh's adventure across 5 countries.
I have to do something for dd and then I'll be off to bed. My body is rebelling and I feel very sore in my legs. (This is one of the reasons I admired Twins' getting her body work done.)
