I have been working on paperwork all afternoon - lots tossed.

Heading for bed before long. Dh I hope is getting ready for bed very soon. Says he feels really bad tonight (his actual word was "terrible"). Told him to go get ready for bed. But he says he's not sure he's up to it. We only have about 36 hours to get through before we can be at the hospital. So thankful that DS-R will be taking us in for more reasons than one.

I've not accomplished very much today but did get a "2nd wind" a while ago and did putter away at my routine(s) from earlier in the day.

Anybody else be glad when all these political ads are a thing of the past? Think I'm going to watch "Wheel" and head to bed.

Dh has just gone in to get himself changed. He did go take a shower earlier before the water was turned off at 3pm. This is probably about the soonest it's ever been turned off. If dh was helping blow the lines tomorrow he'd be done at the end of the day and would be leaving sooner than ever. But our plans are set for Saturday -most likely a good thing. Our cardiologist was simply great getting dh in for this cardioversion so quickly. Only 2 1/2 days out. I'm impressed.

We like the new doctor (another one for our list of specialists, it is growing longer as we age.) Update in J&C.

Dh had more blood and urine tests, then we had fast food for dinner and came home. We lingered at supper because 7 out of 8 sets of test results came in while we were there so I was googling all the out of range results (so far 4 of them were out of range.)

I finished the vacuuming when we got home (slipshod cleaning this week) and did one zone chore. I also wrote out this week's zone chores into my planner for the week. We'll see if that helps me get them done.

Also up this week: decorate the buildings for Halloween and find out about who is responsible for buying candy. I now know who knows where the decorations are so that's a plus. I think we'll decorate on Friday night.

Just booked dh a flu shot for tomorrow when he goes to pick up his prescription from today. I'm pushing his forward (technically he doesn't qualify but I'm claiming the anemia is chronic) but I didn't book myself in, I'll wait until I qualify legitimately (but I might go with him tomorrow and if she jabs me too, I won't complain.

Dh here feels awful too. Mostly stomach complaints, I think, but he is just miserable.

Glad to hear from Dee.

I use Dove bar soap (if anybody is interested). Mostly I stick the little slivers at the end into the new bar and if it's wet enough it melds together.

Blessed, my DH believes we don't have to rake the oak leaves too. He says they are nutrients for the grass. I do know that one can lose their trees if they rake the leaves over and over and pile around the foot of the tree. It will smother there and the roots will eventually grow more up toward the top. We used to have concrete curbing in big circles around the base of the oak trees and used to fill them up with leaves and we were advised not to do that for the health of the trees. I'd go for raking if they get really really thick but run something over them and cut them up into smaller pieces so they compost better. When all the leaves came out of the trees in the storm we raked but only got 80% of them and we removed that many but left the rest and moved them around so there weren't deep clumps there. Eventually DH will cut them up with the lawn mower and leave them. For LOOKS, I'd like them all raked away, but facts is facts y'a know! I read the article, good facts there.

Fence work today. We got 2 sections rebuilt with the top rail and all the pickets in place. Not an easy process, I was surprised how much work it was. We have discovered the poles we replaced are 1" shorter between the bottom hole (for the bottom horizontal rail) and the top horizontal rail. Turned out DH brought out a saw and a horse and cut 1/4" off the pickets and everything fit then. The 2nd section was so tightly fitted with everything that it took a while to get it together. We are going to try to start earlier when it's not so hot and see what we can get done.

I hope I can sleep well tonight so we can get outside earlier. I'm not good at that. Good Lucylee didn't experience a tornado. We have enough storms around here now!

Wanted to tell RamblinRose that I'm not sure what county you're in but Lee county is giving away 2 mosquito traps to every homeowner if they go to the firehouse. If you're able, go there and get them and see if they help.

HRH and I took the golf cart to dstepson's garage today for a repair. We walked home.

Dd42 came over to get an Ataulfo (gold color) mango I'd found at grocery for her youngest, who especially loves them.

Took a walk with her. So that's two walks today. Also, through grocery store.

I use soap slivers down to soap nearly-nothings and toss them away. Using Dove now but lucylee's recommendation sounds interesting. Dove, btw, tends to go into 2 square half-slivers rather than a rectangle because of its initial shape, I think, so is a little more difficult to add to new bars, anyway. I just S2Sed and only had two little nearlies to work with. I left them for a future decision, because, of course I did.
