Simple Sunday

Post by blessedw2 »

"God never intended that we live complicated lives, He created so many things that we can take simple joy from, if only we take the time to see them." Kate Summers

life may not be simple but we can enjoy simplicity at least one day a week. A day of contemplation, a day of creativity or a day of rest.
I hope today that you have a simple and a peace filled day.

Look for the simple joy during the day.

November Night
BY ADELAIDE CRAPSEY

Listen. .
With faint dry sound,
Like steps of passing ghosts,
The leaves, frost-crisp'd, break from the trees
And fall.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Happy Sunday morning - I saw that we started in Saturday but I hope no one minds that I started a Sunday post.

We had a really lovely time with d in laws!!! The next gathering will be in the city so I don't know if it is something we can do. I will find out exactly where it is - we may be able to park at my d brother in laws work otherwise it will be hard to find parking.

We have a neighbor who always have a lot of loud parties but last night, when we came home, it was like a concert - I felt bad for the neighbors right next store. - (It was a big halloween party. They had a big tent, lights and really loud music! Wow it was like being close up to a concert venue. I have a feeling someone called the police on them as suddenly the music went down. it was still loud but not like before. I actually am surprised that they don't know how it affects others - personally I don't care until it hits midnight and beyond but last night it went above anything they have done before.

-----------------------------------------

today is hopefully going to be a simple day.
My hope is to get dogs outside to run around at least 5 times during the day.
today is self care day - I don't do well at this.
also dog care and dog blanket washing.
menu planning.

have a wonderful day!!!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Good morning! I came back through to read last night but never sat down at computer so didn't post. We got home around 7:30, pretty worn out from our retail therapy. We had a pretty day - beautiful leaves turning - as we drove through Georgia. We went to the Container store too and had a late afternoon dinner in a restaurant that was nice. I was worn out by the time we got home but read for awhile. Dh sat down and fell asleep in his chair pretty quickly, out like a light.

I got up late this morning. We may be getting together with friends for dinner tonight at a restaurant - they called on Friday and dh said he would get back to them to set up specifics. I just told dh that I'm feeling a little "short" right now, I need some space.

Onward to the day....

Morning…

Was up early and spent a couple of hours cutting down and trimming bushes. Came in an took a much needed shower. I still have one set of bushes to work on, but I’ll do it on Tuesday morning before it gets too hot. Suppose to be 90+ Today… feel like I’m back in AZ :D

Had a good time at trick or truck last night but we were facing the sun and my candy began to melt. Thankfully I had a cooler so I just handed out candy instead of putting it in a bowl so the kids could pick for themselves. Know we had over a hundred kids so it was fun.

Came home and put the melted candy in the freezer so it should be good to hand out tomorrow night. Right now I just finished my breakfast and am working on my second cup of coffee.

Twins… glad you had a nice outing yesterday didn’t hurt that our football team won again!

Waving to y’all…enjoy your day

Good day so far.

Up at 6:15 having slept over 7 hours straight. I got the right melatonin dose last night (1g) so woke up feeling awake.

Had my tea out on the balcony. It was just above freezing, but no wind on that balcony so I sat there for 30 minutes enjoying the closest thing I get to quiet around here, the stars in the western sky and the growing dawn in the eastern sky. It was fully dark when I went out there at 6:35, so had my little lantern on the table along with my tea and the candle powered teapot warmer. I got a great shot of the scene which I've added to my current Members Only thread.

Then I came inside, solved the daily Wordle in 5 (not bad although I've seen that word before in a different puzzle, probably Octordle) and then got dressed and was out the door by 8 to run an errand in the other building. As the sun rose, the mist on the river got quite heavy so when I walked back across the street, the whisps of fog were coming in at street level but if I looked straight up it was full blue sky. By the time I was back up to the 22nd floor, it was full fog and no view. That lasted until almost 10.

I made it to church on time. It was the All Saint, All Souls service so candle lighting memorial component for those who died in the past year and a great sermon on mortality (but mentally hard to listen to since it struck so close to home.) Nice visiting after church and now I'm home, just about to become really productive for several hours.

I've proposed dinner down at the Seaway but I have people dropping stuff off mid-afternoon so we'll not have time for a hike down there. The weather is wonderful today, should get over 60* again and full sun.

I have a cabbage roll casserole simmering on the stove. Dh mulched a lot of leaves this morning. A neighbour has a very smoky fire going in his fire pit. It smells amazing! Leaves are well past their prime for viewing. Dh has called the company that comes to deal with taking the mowing deck off and putting the snow blower on and they are coming sometime this week. We also have a company coming to do maintenance on our boiler AND I have to call the company that does our septic tank. Might as well be prepared because winter is coming whether I like it or not.
