Church was good this morning and I enjoyed every minute of it. DH sister attended for the first time and sat with us.

Things that make me wonder....hum....I'm not sure what to make of family members that come to our home when they know we aren't going to be here. This is the second week in a row this has happened. They know we attend church every Sunday morning. Maybe it is just a coincidence they are picking the two hours a week they know we won't be here? Ohs well....

I expected to have company here for lunch and planned food for it. However, since they came and left before we arrived home, we ate our meal with just the four of us. Our leftover stash has been replenished.

I hope Cathy drops in the SHE village soon.

I did some planning for the week. Dh is in most nights this week and I have three daytime appointments out of the house: the rescheduled eye check up, body work, and hearing aid. I'll need groceries at some point too. I went through some of the papers in my box this a.m. and got rid of at least ten by putting in recycle or scanning or sending up stairs. I've s2s-ed and started some laundry.

Kind of a low key day. We had rain earlier, and hopefully more overnight.

I requested a "verification of birth facts" a couple of months ago and rec'd it, and can't find it now. I think it came in the middle of the kitchen clean up and put away. So I bit the bullet and requested another. I just know the original is going to turn up now.

We're meeting friends at 5:30 so won't be out late. My kind of dinner out!

Hello again

I worked some more
I had more laundry to do as dh brought down two loads of towels from upstairs
dusted laundry room shelves and straightened them and tossed some things
I also pulled some things for donations

Cathy - I didn't see that! Thanks for clueing me in.

I am going to attempt to get 30 minutes of intentional exercise five times this week. Today I decided to do an exercise that would keep my focus by push mowing the yard to collect leaves for the compost pile. While I was doing that DS14 showed up on the zero-turn mower and made my grass collection easier. He cut the grass with a big mower, and I used the push mower to collect the cut grass. #Win #Win

I am trying to decide how many things I want to grow inside this winter. I don't want to overwhelm myself by growing too much and it becomes a chore. I want to keep it simple and a joy. However, I find myself wanting to try more growing experiments. My time is limited to do this because once we get the first freeze then the decision will be made for me. Note to self.... I can always dump them outside later if caring for the plants becomes a PITA.

DD11 is decorating a pumpkin at the kitchen counter. I spread newspapers in an attempt to keep the mess to a minimum.

hello I really want to say hello individually but my brain is all over the place. I am trying to stay focused on one task at a time. it's not hard work but busy just the same.

I enjoyed reading the paper this morning.
I have a movie on while I worked in the kitchen
quiche is cooking in the oven right now and I plan some fresh fruit as well. I am hoping to freeze the quiche for other lunch meals.

dogs are so bored with me being in the house. I have them outside and then inside but the younger one wants to be near me more often than not.
they did have excitement for a small bit - a neighbors dog came over barking.

Went to the store after church.
[At church afterwards They had ice cream with toppings, took some plain had just one teaspoon of it.]
I was cold so had hot cocoa reg.
Found a cast iron dutch oven that I have been wanting for nearly 3 years score the only one they had! Wa-hoo!
Will make up some beef shepherds pie filling in it later in the week.
After that went to Joann's found a muffin tin with large size openings for the pie to freeze the filling in for individual ones.
A couple other items I forgot bc my list was at home had not planned to go to the store.
Had lunch and rested a bit then cleaned under the mower and mowed in back b/c it is supposed to rain off and on all week here next week.

hello all.
I have been busy all day but it doesn't look like I did a lot.
I have washed all the dogs bedding
and I have one more load of towels
I did my whites today instead of tomorrow.
I don't know how the average person keeps up.
I thought when I decluttered that I would have a spotless floor all the time but without the daily vacuuming- the dog hair and my dirt stays on the ground - lol I don't know why I thought that.

Hello to everyone!

After online prayer meeting last evening, the pastor suggested some might want to see/hear his sermon already recorded (not usual for them, but worked out fine). So, there was a very good sermon to hear last evening as well.

Like LadyM, we had company at church hour, but since last evening's time had already been so enjoyable, it was not a problem to mentally "put a pin in" the local sermon for this morning to see later, and enjoy the visitors.

LadyM, that is unusual to have folks misunderstand even a week later, after they already saw that you attend on Sun. mornings.

Later both HRH and I had long phone conversations with an old friend of his who is having a very hard time lately. His dw has had to be put into a nursing facility because of dementia. and he is having every problem under the sun trying to get used to alone living. Her friend came in from a distance to visit her. He let the friend borrow their car while here, and she wrecked. No one hurt but such a situation.

One drip-dry laundry load done this afternoon, so this household isn't keeping up with blessed! The day has been quiet.

We did get a good walk in down at the Seaway. Plus the wonderful fish and chips which we haven't had for ages. We can't figure out why this place makes the best fish and chips in this part of the province (and almost on a par with and better than a lot of our favourite places in NS .)

We had our disruptions over by 3:30 and were down to the Fish and Chip place by 4:45. We ate first and just missed a ship going by; we could see it downriver and heading away from us as we parked looking out at the water to eat.

After we ate we moved the car to the start of a walking trail that starts by the waterfront and then winds its way through the greenspace of the town. Another ship (laker, not ocean going) went by as we were walking along the waterfront at the beginning of the sunset. (Pic in my MO thread, just because it bookends my day.) The trail is no more than 3.5 miles long if you do the whole thing and then walk back to the start through town streets but we only did about 2 miles tonight, including the walk back to the car. That was enough for me, but in the spring/summer, we can combine the trail with a walk through the abandoned railway tunnel (turned into a tourist walk) to get back to the waterfront and that should be a reasonable walk I can do if I start earlier in the day.

I'm exhausted now and sore. I really need to get to the doctor (or just skip that and book in with a physiotherapist), to work on my leg that I injured in NS. I can walk but it hurts a fair bit sometimes all day and night and my leg is weak so anything that requiring steps is slow and uncertain.
