Re: Monday PWYC
Twins, I hope your check shows up.
Our TaDa for today: we went and voted today. We were at a county admin. building and there were crowds of people in and out voting. A lot of places have been damaged and a bunch were moved up there. I was pleased how organized they were and how many stations there were for marking ballots. We were in and out in just a couple minutes. Before we went I went over the ballot with DH, the people, the judges, and all the amendments. We talked about them and what I thought. He has just been telling me to research it and he'd vote like I do. I don't think his brain operates well enough to figure it out...but I feel uncomfortable telling him what to do, so I always talk about it with him. We usually agree on it all anyway. So we went up there with our ballots and then marked our paper ballots and fed them into the machine. Very efficient.
He is out getting a truck load of mulch to put around the base of the fence on both sides. He's sprayed there again. I hate this job, but he wants help doing it, so I've got my work clothes on waiting for him to get home.
Coming back from the voting, I drove around our neighborhood. Oh my gosh. We are a mess around here. I haven't seen many of our streets here until today. Worse than I imagined. Also the industrial park on the way to vote... torn up pretty badly. Sigh...what a storm this was.

Re: Monday PWYC
Slept in missed Bible study had to eat.-----
Have put hoses under the carport dumped trash got mower blade out to get put on or at least store with mower so they are together when I put mower away for the winter, before I put the hoses in after it.
I can get my table loom upstairs now as I have cleaned off the rolling cart that it goes on.
Need to look up how to clean battery cables on google / you tube.
Handy man will be here later might have him help with these above things if when he shows up...

Re: Monday PWYC
"Honey", I'm home!" Got in Tampa about 4:20pm Saturday. Dh insisted that I come south albeit he can't leave yet at the very least until he sees the cardiologist at 4 today. Here's hoping that he's improved in both heart beat and BP. Otherwise he'll be facing a pacemaker. Which in and of itself probably won't be too bad, just another bump in the road. He's also had trouble finding his daily inhaler and his Metolazone (which he takes 3x a week). I've tried to direct him but so far no luck.
Then I spent almost an hour this morning trying to straighten out our American Express. He called to say he got a message saying someone tried to charge a $400+ microwave to his card. Should have had him look more closely. I knew we weren't billed earlier. When I tried to access our online account it kept telling me it was locked because of too many unsuccessful attempts to log in. Talked with AE 3 times and finally had to call him to call Customer Support to say I'm on the account. Went back in and tried to get in again and wallah was in! Called him right back and told him to 'never mind'. Of course each time I called I got someone with such a thick accent that I could not understand her. Then DS-A looked at his phone and found incorrect spelling etc and knew for sure it was a spam.
All that wasted, frustrating + time.
The last 20 minutes or better of my flight I had excruciating head/ear pain, like I've never had before. Sure it was this cold. Only one other time did I experience similar. Flew to D.C. to meet dh there when he worked for Kodak. I had a very bad cold and ended up deaf for a couple of days. Thankfully this quit after a few hours.
Yesterday I went to Orlando with dd to a Solar Bears hockey game. It was a good respite for me.
I've been busy all day and think I'm going to take break for 3/4 hour or so now.

Re: Monday PWYC
I decided not to hold with USPS, they'll tell me to give it another day I bet. I looked at our doorbell camera and mail was delivered at 11:06 (I should have checked it before I left earlier!) and the truck was on our camera at 11:14, 11:22, 11:38 and 11:41. He turned around once right in front of our house but
didn't go back to our mailbox that I could tell. He was obviously confused today because that's at well over forty minutes for the forty or so houses on the circle. And I didn't see anyone else near our mailbox. But the camera for some reason didn't record when I drove in the driveway and got the mail when I got home so I don't know if it would record another person there?
Going to finish getting together the chili and straighten up the kitchen, then upstairs for a bit. Ruby will be here at five.
Dee, so glad to hear from you! Glad you got there safely, now waiting for news about Mr. Dee.

Twins for what it's worth category, I've found that often what shows up on "informed digest" might not hit our P.O. box until a day later. Hope that's all it is. I don't go through that as our refund is deposited automatically. Though I do need to remember to change our bank receiver for next year because we're closing that account. Mainly because we have to keep a $2,000 balance in our checking or they charge us a fee of about $20/month. Figure we could at least earn 3% in a money market account so it's benefitting us -not them.

Re: Monday PWYC
Halloween candy is out on porch along with water bottles as I am finishing up dinner and dishes.
I had to buy some more candy as I always get nervous that we will run out even though our street doesn't get a lot of kid foot traffic. we get a lot of families with dogs on weekends from people going to the woods path.
I always buy nut free candy as well as the regular pics of chocolate candies.
I have a load of dishes on in the dw
I have the egg noodles cooking and the Swedish meatballs, cucumber salad, green bean salad are all made and in the fridge.
the next right thing: clean counters
wash utensils and one pot
clean stove top
sweep floor
I have to leave her at 5:50 to pick up dd older.

Re: Monday PWYC
Dh used to never like to direct deposit and I've just carried that forward. Would have to get him to find his checkbook and give me the info, and heaven knows it could be anywhere.
After posting in the neighborhood group, a couple of people commented - we had a shooting last night at the main post office for this area and apparently that facility was closed down afterwards and closed today. So I bet that's it. Normally I probably wouldn't realize that the mail didn't show up, it may be delayed sometimes too.
Dh came home early and is blowing off the sidewalk and porch. I had meant to do it but forgot, and he did it without me even asking.
Awaiting Ruby's arrival.
This has not been a productive day, between getting up late, the eye doctor (he is a friend, and was talkative too) and then worry about the mail.

Re: Monday PWYC
I am so sorry I am so late to say hi individually. I honestly don't know where the day went again.
hi d dee. Honey so happy you are home!!! welcome to Tampa!!! praying his appointment went well. hope he finds his meds.
I am so sorry you had a scammer that you wasted time on. frustrating.
my dd had someone use her name and her company name that was off by one letter - they charged people for a job application that wasn't a real job.
hi d Kathryn!
hi d Nancy its more than okay to rest and get something to eat - good for you!
so nice to hear that you will be using your loom together.
hi d harmony good for you for voting!
I can imagine how much damage there was.
I am sure that the work you do looks beautiful!!!
hi d twins those glasses are cute, I am sure!!!
it's nice that they tell you what mail is coming but so frustrating that the check wasn't in your mail today.
how fun to have your friends sweet dog come stay with you!!!
hello d lady - I love that your ds is so interested in how things work. It's worked well for my d brother!!! I wish I would have learned more when I was younger. I am thinking of having my dd's do an online class with me for repair or take a wood working class when we are together.
yay on your work on your calendar.
hello everyone.
time to go left to right in kitchen.
I am hitting a tired spot.
tomorrow I have to stop at the store for butternut squash as I am making butternut squash soup. I also want to make some apple muffins tomorrow.
I also have to stop by the hardware store for the pea gravel and wood chips.

Re: Monday PWYC
Glad Dee is safe and sound after trip.
Difficult Desk Day because of the phone calls.
Because of that falling tree damaging the "downline" and connection into our house, and the need for work on the breaker box, we expect to have to have our electricity turned off for a day or so at the end of the week, likely overnight Friday/Sat. That's do-able - not complaining. But the electrician's company wants to do the work on Friday, have inspector here early Sat. Yet, our electric utility company refuses to do a Saturday (or Sunday) restoration of power. They say they literally don't have anyone who does that sort of work available except Monday through Friday. IMO, the electrician company should have known this. Instead, they sent us on a wild phone chase talking to various utility company personnel (and there are plenty), who say "everyone" is supposed to know this. Sigh.
HRH is additionally shocked that our electric utility company actually goes through every weekend without the ability to restore electricity following an inspection ... .. second sigh from me. He says that for his whole working life every plant he ever worked in had to have weekend shifts and that was just to make sure stores remained stocked with foods. But somehow electricity being restored isn't particularly urgent. Now he's remembering the times that, when businesses needed the same thing we'll need on a weekend, utility companies somehow made arrangements. Third sigh. I will not hear the end of this for a while.
Names - blessed, Tobias was the name of a martyr burned at the stake in 315 A.D. (When dd names a pet, she doesn't fool around. This was in response to her big brother teasing that he was going to call the kitten "Lucifer" because he hissed furiously when first rescued.) It's Greek, translated from Hebrew meaning "God is good". HRH has never used a name and always says, "Cat".
Pet messes chat - dd42's household is dismayed because the puppy has digestive messes... um... digestive upsets. (smile) They have been to the vet but there is nothing wrong. Have to assume she ate like a tricky puppy when no one was looking.
Oops... Trick or Treat time!
