After our storm I can say with confidence: lots of land + lots of trees = lots of problems.

We are still working. We got the mulch all done and what is left has been left in a pile on top of a folded up tarp. We had to clean out that corner first. DH kept the forms for columns he built for someone, 2 houses ago that he built. They were covered, but they were wood forms. All deteriorated and had come apart. With a lot of difficulty we hammered apart the concrete that he'd used as weights to keep the plastic anchored and loaded them up, loaded up the pieces of the forms, half a truck load full, and put them out with the rest of the stuff for household pickup. I brushed the wall behind it all. The mulch is all out of the truck in that spot now and the truck washed out. About 5 hours work.

Every time I look around I see more that can be done.

I did get the trash that was pruned off last month ready to go next week. Yea for that.
Got the outdoor kitchen area spiffed up.
Got 5 min. done outside and was great to help me relax and unwind a bit and it was great to get those tasks I"d been putting off out of my hair.
Added a bit later perfect timing b/c it is now raining even harder.
Did 15 on the stat bike as well, a bit more stretching this morning.

I truly admire who cook every night for their family. it now takes me forever!
From now on I will make something really really easy on grocery shopping and errand day.
the recipe that I tried had 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper - I made it little less and it's still too hot to me.

dishes are washing themselves.

Blessed, then you can admire dh who does most of our cooking, including right now.

My day has been steady and productive but no housework done yet.

I did:

1. get the extra grandfather clock out the door and the clock specialist will call me to make an appointment to fix my clock. Coincidentally, he was the same person who worked on it years ago including doing a tune up on the works before we moved in here and bringing the works with him after we moved the empty case.

2. take all the leftover candy to the new social room (not opened yet) for the staff to figure out what they want to do with it since they bought it.

3. get all the decorations moved up to my apartment and they are now all packed up and ready to be put away by staff (these are the landlord's decorations, the recreation association just did the decorating and handled T&T for the landlord.)

4. spend too much time chatting with neighbours

5. walked over and got my flu shot

6. have a long zoom call with ds (and eventually TG and dgs who didn't nap near long enough today) learning how to read their family google calendar for their hospital shifts so I can anticipate which days I'll be babysitting. Plus he'll be with me for a weekend in January when ds goes to visit with dfs, and he'll be with me for a week when they go on vacation down south. We also discussed wedding plans (October 2023.) Dfs and family are coming up so we have to find them accommodations and I assumed here except I just found out there's a honeymoon as well, and I'll have dgs for that!

7. freeze the pork tenderloins we bought while I was getting my flu shot. We also bought whole chicken so we'll have one of those tomorrow night and I'll freeze the other then.

8. Pay a bill due today.

So that's a pretty busy and productive day.

My arm is sore and my tummy is a bit wonky.

Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment and then I might take a day off. Friday I have the dgs6 and dgd for the day and dgs is staying overnight. Sunday I'm the coffee hour host. So this week isn't getting any less busy!

Another late evening ci:
After a very productive day yesterday, today has been pretty slow.
* Morning routine, including Bible reading (devotional AND the chapter a day, which is my goal, but often gets overlooked)
* Post office
* Updated calendars
* Dmom came over, helped her schedule repair for her BRAND NEW refrigerator
* Answered email
* Typed teacher group minutes
* Talked to ds on phone
* Ate supper w/dh at sandwich place in Next Town

Now I need a nap! Just ate a turkey/bacon sandwich on wheat bread and a scoop of chicken salad, a few crackers and a small cookie.

Wasted the evening and am now headed to bed late.

Correction: I just realized that I did my kitchen weekly chores after I cleaned up the dinner dishes. So I didn't waste all the evening. But I did waste a good portion of it.

Cathy, I'm glad your new cat is okay.

I rode along with HRH to business he had in the next county and also by the bank. A nice trip.

Fielded a call from a friend from church. It stopped me from getting anything done during that time, in which I sat and waited to get back to projects. But at the end she told me she had called to chat with me while she got in her walk outdoors to keep up her step count! Somehow that isn't fair.

During that time, dstepson, HRH and dd42's family worked on organizing over at dd42's. HRH came back with more stuff for us to store. No comment.

I agree fully!

My childhood best friend will call to chat with me on her way home from a blood donation clinic if it is a long drive. So I know it will be an hour long call. Sometimes I can do dusting or tidying, but anything more than that makes it too hard to hear since she's on speaker phone in the car.
