It is Wednesday, right? Dh was bowling last night, I worked until eight or nine last night, can't remember what time it was. I'm chomping at the bit to get going upstairs this morning,

Tonight we're going to see dfriends - she is the one who had knee replacement. We'll get take out dinner to enjoy together.

I'm still thinking that I need a trip back to Nash-vegas and still feeling I don't have the time. Every time I get it tamped down, the feeling comes back that I really should. Not sure I can do that and manage to distill it into what I've written already and still review a bit and get it all ready to go. Next week is a weird week - I lose most of Wednesday - we'll go to ATL to meet dh's dsis (not dear) and her dh for dinner. I don't think they will be happy driving into ATL at rush hour to meet us at that time of the day, but they suggested we meet somewhere because they'll be staying somewhere south of there. DH raves and rants about the fact that she wants us to drop everything to meet them, when he still works and they are fully retired. She texted him "Can't you just try?" when trying to set this up, so we texted back with time and where to meet and that he's buying dinner. (But I digress...) And then next week on Thursday, dh will go out of town and I'll have Thurs. Friday and Sat with him away. I think he gets home sometime on Sunday. So I have a block of time on my own to work.

Heading on upstairs, I'll finish a.m. routine this afternoon.

Good Morning!

I'm enjoying a normal start to the day. I love normal.

Today's plans include -
** DD11 public school and academic team practice.
** DS14 homeschool. He already has most of today's assignments finished (worked on them last night). He has some questions & has requested me to sit with him while finishing 2 assignments.
** Chili simmering on stove top in Dutch oven. I will do the final seasoning after lunch and before I transport it.
** Prep food, drinks, and setup for feeding church family. I need to have the meat in the oven by 4pm and then I have 1.5 hours to do the prep for everything else. Dinner is served at 5:45pm
** Worship service.

Day is off to a good start after a lousy sleep.

I started the process to handle a Facebook group issue before heading out.

Doctor's appointment went well, I have my first 'old person' prescription now but it should solve my issues which are common in old people.

I got taken immediately (despite the warning appointments may be delayed an hour) so came straight home instead of taking myself out for breakfast.

I'll get the building's Halloween decorations stored in their storage area instead of my hall, and put some other RA stuff in that locker. Then maybe finish up the weekly house blessing.

It is a beautiful sunny day here.

Not even sure I posted yesterday -well maybe I did but I kept losing posts -aarrgghh! I need to figure out how to disable the onboard mouse. Think I keep hitting it and I only want my portable mouse to work! Any suggestions?

"Old People" prescription, Kathryn?

Dsonil has left to pick up dd at school. She'll take him to the Orlando airport and he'll be on his way to meet up with dh. He gets into Rochester at 6:32. They plan to leave DS-A's early tomorrow morning. Have to admit I'm still VERY confused and anxious about dh's physical condition and change in meds AGAIN.
During that time, dstepson, HRH and dd42's family worked on organizing over at dd42's. HRH came back with more stuff for us to store. No comment.
Totally understand the "no comment", Harriet!

Sorry your sleep was little last night, Kathryn. I manage to get 1 hour/2 minutes between 4 and 6am Sunday night. I was wide awake at 6 this morning. Took my thyroid med and went back to bed. At some point I drifted off again and slept until just after 9am. Got 9 hours/23 minutes. Boy, I needed it! Especially with this cold, although I think it's getting better. Hope I'm well over it by the time dh gets here. Once he's here I need to figure out his new med directives. I just don't understand how they weren't doing anything knowing he's back in Afib. I know our cardiologist definitely does not want dh going to Drs here. ?????????

Dsonil called a few minutes ago and I thought something had gone awry. Not

If nothing else, my day started with a lot of excitement!! Cat that had the vet appointment yesterday had a mouse cornered in the pantry. She caught it a few times and then released it. Tiny little mouse is now un the least accessible place for me or the cat. I have 2 Costco sized chrome shelving units with all the business paperwork on the bigger shelf and it has no wheels on it. I don't know why I gave dh the wheels but I will see if I can order another 3 sets to put on the shelves that don't have wheels so I can just wheel them out of the way as needed.

Any way... mouse is still under the carpet against the wall in the corner of the room. Smart mouse for such a small mouse. I think it's just a bit bigger than a baby.

Sylvester (the tuxedo cat) is on the job for pest control. Her sister is kind of helping. Right now they both seem to be sleeping, but their ears are twitching.

We don't have the newest cat yet. It will be interesting to see how she deals with pest control.

Dee: "Old people" in this case is estrogen cream. I made it through menopause without needing any support whatsoever but apparently that didn't mean I had arrived at a new normal and things have apparently changed to the point that I need some meds.

To be honest, because of my sister's breast cancer (diagnosed when she was ~35, death at 40) I had wanted to avoid hormonal treatment and some how I didn't know that topical, local, estrogen was an option. The doc told me today it has been around since the 1940s. I know in the 1960's my mom (age ~46) was put on oral and was zoning out and losing large chunks of time through the day so took herself off it. So in my brain, oral was the only option and I wanted to avoid it.

On the plus side, this is 'normal' and is likely also causing my pre UTI-like feelings as opposed to it being something more serious.

All Halloween items have been stored away and I also finally moved some tarps which were being stored in the back of the car for lack of a better place to keep them, to the locker they belong in (not our personal locker.)

Dh has just finished his breakfast now, so I can move onto housework and not disturb him at the table.

I might have a new hobby. I find myself enjoying going to estate sales because I like exploring older homes. I don't go to the estate sales for the STUFF but because the house is open to the public and they encourage exploring all the nook & crannies of the house. Today I went to an estate sale at a farm home a few miles from me. The location was beautiful surrounded by hundreds of acres of pasture with a long winding driveway ending at the home, barns, cattle lots. However, the house is approx. 30ish years old and built with a typical modern floor plan so I didn't find anything about the home that caught my fancy. I am interested in older homes with unique floor plans and features. Although I didn't intend on buying anything I did find a unique rolling wooden desk chair that came home with me. It will replace my current desk chair that is showing its age.

I'm on Windows 11 so it might be different on a previous version but it should be similar.
