** BIG sigh of relief***
Both kids have been delivered to the departure point. I had them start packing two hours before we needed to leave, and it took them the entire time to pack. It was a happy chatter filled non-stop moving time. After they finished packing, I checked their bags. DS14 had no socks. DD11 had no underwear at all. I had fleeting thoughts of how nice it would be to have a packing list for them. Maybe next time. Once they had packed them DD11 asked "Are we supposed to take our own sheets and pillows?" ARgh! We had all forgotten about that. They are staying in dorm type facilities that only have bare mattresses. So, we had another flurry of activities collecting & packing pillows, sheets & blankets. I just realized.....they didn't take any towels, washcloths, or soap to use in the showers. oops.
Not only am I not organized at getting them packed. I also wrote the camp wrong on the calendar. My calendar said they will be gone for 2 days but it is actually 3 days. They will return Sunday evening.
The house is so quiet now.

Enjoy the quiet house, LadyM!
I just got off the skype call with the grands so back to the mines (kitchen.)
I have just finished the cupboards inside and out but still have 10 drawers to do. They will actually be faster or I may skip some of them. These get attention at times, unlike many of the places I did today. For instance, I cleaned out my tupperware and take-away/yogurt container drawers (that's 3 of the 10) in the past 2 months. And 4 of the drawers are really quite small so will take little time. Plus they are well away from the cooking areas so not greasy at all (that's what takes the most time.)
I switched from Netflix to Prime and watched an Amazon movie (The People we hate at the wedding) and it was really quite good. Now I'm watching a movie from 2000, with Julie Andrews, Stephen Fry, and Colin Firth. It is also entertaining.
Tonight's dinner will be either lasagna or chili. I'll see once I get the kitchen a bit more under control.

Re: First Friday of December!
I raked the leaves on the side yard and front driveway this morning.
Then purged some planner pages and pulled some sheets I want to use for my Q1 planning.
Then walked the dog full walk quite brisk but 35 felt like 38* to me. Glad for the fresh air and sunshine saw 2 deer , roads are good.
Neighbors had their truck hauled off I assume to the shop unless they are trading rigs.
Enjoying having my decor up and ready to go.
Did take out some items to declutter out to the shop and found my latex gloves
I had been looking for out there yea!
Had lunch leftovers from Mon. are gone now.
This morning 1st thing I seamed up a blue baby blanket flannel on one side.
Watched an episode of a show I am watching on Net - Flicks.
Ordered my books.
LM you might consider the go bag concept of toiletries;. we used to keep a bag packed for each of us when
we traveled on motor - cycles, and camped. It there a way you can incorporate that into home work?

Re: First Friday of December!
I wanted to just sit in the recliner once I got the kids launched to camp, however the weather was beautiful so i decided the recliner could wait.
DH is still cutting trees down in our yard. He has cut two big trees in the past week. It takes several trailer loads to haul off the tree & limbs. I rode with DH as he was hauling off one of the loads and enjoyed myself immensely. We meet DNephew that lives next to our pasture and walked with him for over an hour. The neighbor to the south of us has contracted to have the fence line cleaned out. It has been decades since this has happened, and the fence line is overgrown in trees. There are 2 big bulldozers and 2 heavy duty excavators working on this project. We watched them a bit then walked to check on the natural springs. The heavy equipment has buried the natural springs, but we all expect the springs will make its appearance again once we get out of this drought type weather.
I am trying to establish the daily habit of doing a quick PUPA, vacuum, and dusting of the living room. I can usually accomplish it in under 5 minutes.
1, 2, 3, GO!

The lack of towels and soap will be something to process for them, LadyM, considering their own responsibility to pack and inform, and they likely will remember and benefit from that ... .. someday.
Hearing about the decorating and nativities is so nice. I'm so happy for those managing that.
I had a scare here when I evidently went onto a questionable site and my micro soft warning bells went crazy.
It has been years since that happened. Thank goodness for an IT guy
in the house, because that sort of thing is so disconcerting. Took a long time to re-identify myself after alarm-bell frantic-ness and have the courage to continue.
That delayed my call to accountant because I needed an email I couldn't access until HRH was finished. By that time accountant was on the road and required us to wait until Monday. Sigh.
HRH went alone to grocery after that. Honestly, I worked on the house cleaning and generally organizing while he was gone, but later in the day when kids came it was a mess. I don't know why.
But then I was tired and agreed to his idea of veggie hotdogs for lunch. Problem is, ya'll know that is breakfast for me since I've started limiting my hours of eating. Unwise. Sigh.
2 more cards went to mail. One I wish I'd just delivered but it's done now. At this rate, I'll be finished by Valentine's Day.
Dstepson came and changed the difficult light fixture's bulb. Dd42 came and chatted and let me see her video doorbell as the boys took grandpuppy for a walk. I tried to say "hello" and surprise them but it didn't work, so she needs to go into geek mode herself and see what's wrong.
She planned Tuesday with me. She will be gone to in-person work and it's a tough school day for her youngest, so I may be over there quite a while.
Oops - she's calling now asking a favor for the children ... .. bbl

Re: First Friday of December!
Kitchen is finished. I watched the entire Pepsi Where's My Plane Netflix series but things are finished.
I'm exhausted so was moving really slowly at the end.
I also got all the recycle and garbage out. I will run the dishwasher now and head to bed.
Tomorrow will be the dining room. The autumn placemats are still on the table (I removed the centrepiece earlier this week) and that annoys me. The dining room has 1 bin of decorations but I'm not sure how many will go out this year.
