Home indeed by Douglas Malloch
Draw up a chair and light a light
And find a book to read.
The heavens dark, and wild the night,
And home is home indeed.
The louder seems the winter’s ire
Tonight, the brighter seems the fire
For when the wintry storm begin,
The more the comfort here within.
The wind is at the windowpane
The wind is at the door;
It shakes the house and shakes in vain,
For loud the chimney’s roar.
And higher leaps the crimson blaze
In winter than in summer days;
The more the weather is unkind,
A greater joy wishing we find.
The fields in springtime call us forth,
Their rosy paths to roam
But when the wind is in the north,
We pluck the rose at home.
Perhaps God sends the wintry hours
To show that there are other flowers;
For when a roof and fire you need,
Ah, then a home is home indeed.
I loved this poem and thinking that even with cold and snow that it is a season we can all take time to enjoy. (our home/including family and friends are the other flowers in the winter).
How are you doing today?
Have a wonderful day!
Home indeed pwyc Sunday

I will listen to service on line
okey dokey artichoky
I pulled my dailies
other:
wrap the last white elephant gift
check presents
write family to see what I can bring for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day - haven't heard yet.
it's 18 degrees but they say it feels like 2 degrees. it is chilly. On Christmas we are supposed to have 8 degrees. - remember to put blankets in car.

Beautiful poem, blessed.
How am I doing? Oh my goodness I am sleepy. Late night… early morning. Busy day ahead. Maybe a shower will help.

My thought as well as far as church goes.
Not feeling as chipper as some days.
Slept hard however.
Coffee is done.
Rs taken first round anyway.
Waving to all who follow.
Finished a book last night.
sort of a self help type book not all that helpful.
Self care Sunday for me.
Working on my plan.
S2s done
Got kit. sinks unstopped yes!
Walked ddog that was good the sun was out then.

d Nancy hope you feel more yourself as the day goes on!
I find books come in the perspective from the writer - most are sincere with what they are sharing but again it's like talking to anyone - we take what we need from their wisdom; if it fits with us. Not all advice fits all people. Some writers (not many) want to sell books and make up something that they themselves may not try out or believe in. I have books that I read all the way through and think... why did I continue reading it or geesh that won't even closely work for me. (again it is the author's perspective and we know ourselves).
hope the next book is wonderful
WAVING HELLO

Morning…
My contents are due to show up in the next few days and I made the decision not to put up a tree this year. Gonna have a Christmas Table instead. I’m fine with it. Need to move things around in my kitchen cabinets to make room for the new. Hunting for a box to put my donations in. Out with the old and in with the new.
Had a grand time riding around with my son yesterday as he did some errands. He wanted to look at a building that has community offices for people who work remote. He’s trying to reduce the stress in his home with two toddlers running around. He can rent a 8x10’ office for $600. The building also has a reception area and conference rooms he could use. This is a win/win for everyone in his home.
I ordered a bike for myself from target and thought it cam in a box. My son took me there to pick it up because he has a pickup truck. He even offered to put it together because I’m not sure Sweetie is up to it. My son has his own bike and rode all the time when he lived outside of Miami.
Imagine our surprise and delight when they brought the bike out all assembled! Brought it home and my son adjusted the seat and handlebars to fix me. I’m so excited cause I love to ride. However it did take me a while to get my “wings”.
My ADD has kicked in big time and I am going with the flow. I’m here and there doing this and that but the energy is strong so I’m going with the flow buzzing around like a little bee. Not even trying to corral it.
Thinking of Dee and Lucylee’s husbands and sending healing prayers.
Nancy… take care of yourself.
LadyM…I love the idea of use it or donate it. I’m in the same frame of mind. Would love to see your Christmas curtains. I have two friends that change all the bedroom spreads and shower Curtis plus towels to match the Christmas holidays. The best I can do is Christmas table clothes and kitchen towels
Waving to y’all… it’s back to work for me
Hurray…Sweetie just found some boxes for me!

Re: Home indeed pwyc Sunday
Dh and I enjoyed the beef ribs so much the other night that I am doing the same thing for tonight but with pork ribs. I had to use the larger crock pot for them. We went back to the grocery store this morning and picked up what we didn't get to last night. Now my pasta shelf is so full I can't get another bag of spaghetti in there. There is pasta sauce and canned tomatoes and cans of salmon and tuna on that shelf as well. My pantry is starting to look like a grocery store again, so dh is happy.
Dh's best friend lives in south Niagara peninsula on Lake Erie and it takes an hour to drive to his place. They got 8 inches of snow last night. We didn't get anything.
Supper tonight will be the pork ribs along with scalloped potatoes. Most likely some green beans for dh.

Re: Home indeed pwyc Sunday
Taking a break…
Watching the World Cup as I work in my kitchen. Great game and I don’t even know the rules!
Harmony…every time I climb around on my Gorilla step laser I think of you! I love this step ladder because it’s tall enough to reach all my high places and the ladder is very strong and steady. I’ve redo several cabinets and reorganized my pantry. Loaded up a box for goodwill and am sure there will be more to put in it once my contents arrive.
After working at my moms, I’m really in a decluttering mood. Once the year is over I want to order cabinets for the garage and laundry room. At the other home I had cabinets in both and I miss them here. I want everything neat and tidy and at the moment it’s not.
Back at it…

Re: Home indeed pwyc Sunday
I am in shock on how the floor looks still. I haven't done anything with this work like I had planned yesterday.
wrapped the last present for dd younger to give dd older
wrapped the white elephant
dd older threw the mattress cover I watched into the dryer and washed her own sheets.
I ordered soup for lunch and will put the remaining soup into the fridge for dh and dd.
hello d rose
glad you are taking a break!
good for you - decluttering rah rah rah
so happy you had a nice time with your dear son
hi d cathy so happy the ribs turned out so nicely! so happy you all are happy that your pantry is filled again!
it's amazing when snow or rain hits One area and not another area!
hi d lucy!!! hope you feel energy after your shower!
hi d d Nancy!
hello d everyone
feeling a bit tired! I know I would rather put on a nice show and just rest.
