Thriving Thursday

Sometimes I can only tell what the day of the week is by either the PWYC thread or my vitamin dispenser!

It's Thursday so I hope you are all thriving.

Rough sleep. Dh had a really rough sleep so that probably explains my rough night.

Got up at 6:40 and have done a batch of nuts and bolts, made a pan of Rice Krispy treats, and washed up last night's dishes and the dishes from the nuts and bolts. The other dishes are in soak now while I have my tea and chocolate and light therapy.

Big task I have to get done is make the carrot cake.

Oh, and plan dinner and all the steps that entails including timing. I can't remember when I last cooked a fresh turkey so have to look up the details on that.

Morning….

Bet it smells yummy at your home Kathryn.

Today is laundry day for me. Haven’t don’t much around the house for the last days because my shoulder hurt so much. Had Sweetie work on it last night and it feels better.

Need to figure out how to reset my Fitbit … it’s been a while. Also want to work some more gathering information to submit to my DAR application. Then I need to send it off to the gal who is working on my application.

I really need to redo my office and bookshelves. And I need to figure out where to store some things. I want to put up shelving in the garage and my laundry room. I hate the way it looks. Plus I promised to help Sweetie with our Homestead application.

First up, finish morning routines… I slept in this morning, a gift to myself, so I am a bit behine, but not sweating it.

Waving to y’all…

Good morning! In the 40s here and getting warmer. We’ve gone from the bitterest winter to practically springlike weather, including rain expected.

Major thing on today’s agenda is a hockey game tonight. They’re doing a Batman promotion, so DH is all over that. They’ll likely have a silent auction for the players’ jerseys; I wish they’d do a raffle for at least one of them. It seems to me like they would get more money that way.

Before that, though, I’d like to put a grocery order together. The loyalty program we’re on lets you earn points that can be spent for a certain amount off per gallon of gas or a percentage of your grocery bill. I’ve been letting the points ride because when we do a big grocery run, it can get quite expensive, and we can save as much as $100 or more. But we still haven’t gotten the new refrigerator yet, so we’ve been doing mostly small runs. Thing is, they’re switching to a new system, and I think at the end of the year, they will automatically switch you. So I’ve only got a couple of days to use these points. My plan is to stock up on staples. I’m disappointed, but what are you going to do?

Have a good day, everyone!

Hello! Still morning here... Hope everyone is really thriving. I am trying to get back to normal around here but it is slow going. I did take 2 envelopes out to the mailbox. Other one will go out tomorrow, so it will get there on time but not go through my bank in this year. That means I do not have to make a spreadsheet for the project that we'll hold over to next year.

I did reorganize my china closet. It is a big thing with 2 sliding glass doors. It's more like a breakfront. The left side has everyday "good" dishes and the right side has all my Christmas things. Mostly my dishes are not good bone china, but I like everything I have. Since I decluttered in there I didn't find a lot to donate...a little music box to give to DGD (not the one that used to be our Mom's - I love that one) and a set of salt and pepper shakers that even pliers won't remove the tops (those I threw away). That all made room for the wood holder and the 4 Christmas mugs I got (I didn't have any). So that's done now. I threw away the deteriorating box which held my cookie cutters and loaded up another for the baking drawer.

I need to work on one bedroom.

Think my house is bothering me because up at DD's BIG house that she's selling, they are both very tidy people and she's packed up a lot of stuff and made everything look neat and pretty because people are coming through. It feels wonderful up there. I need to do some work around here!

I'm up and about here and need to peel my bottom up and start moving.

The dog was scared of dh when he got home last night. Barked, then she was shaking. She did that two days ago with me. I need to bring her over tonight when dh is already home sitting in his chair and let us all just hang out. Last night we were going on out for dinner anyway.

Today I need to do floors and do odds and ends of cleaning. (some things need to be redone by now!)

For dh's birthday he suggested a sugar free chocolate cake that our dfriend made when we were at the cabin. It's a sugar free devils food cake mix and died dr pepper. It was good, but I couldn't stop thinking about all the artificial sugar in it. If I can find the sugar free cake mix I'll make that for him, and get some sugar free whipped cream - it doesn't have icing.

I need brunch first, then should start with vacuuming. Another job to do after vacuuming: clean filter in vacuum cleaner. (might need to order new one, need to see?

Big rocks in jar for today:
-floors
-make lasagna sauce
-see if I can find ingredients for dh cake
-dog socialization this evening?

smaller rocks that are OMM
-finish weekly cleaning
-goodwill
-recycle drop off: glass

Sand to go in jar last:
-what else?
-upstairs desk clean up, need to get colored papers off desk - they will fade...

I'm kind of all over the place today, unfortunately.

Annnndddd, much later. I am all over. I vacuumed the MBR, hallway and kitchen. Then dfriend M texted me and [red face] I was supposed to take R uby around for a walk this morning while she had her colonoscopy. So I walked down there - M is still woozy - and took R uby for a walk.

Taking a break until quarter til the hr, then working again.

Good Morning! I need to hurry to post this so I can make it while it is still morning here.

I was up around 6am without an alarm. DH asked why I didn't go back to sleep since we are in Christmas Break, but I was ready to get started on the day.

I have been tweaking my hourly schedule and enjoying the feeling I get when checking things off.

Last night appt with DS14 counselor went well. There are some tough issues being discussed and worked on. I couldn't be more thrilled with how hard DS14 is working on issues that are bothering him. I can't imagine where the kid's headspace would be if they weren't doing routine counseling. IMHO it is vital for emotional growth that spills over and has positive influences in all areas of their lives.

This is the one day this week that doesn't have any events or appointments.

I hope our missing SHE's can CI

LadyM, I'm so glad the therapy is good for ds. You and dh are smart to help him work some of these issues out now.

Finished vacuuming and mopped kitchen floor. I'm calling floors done. I've done enough for the moment, my back is feeling it!

I think I'll head out now and go to store, and drop off at Goodwill. I think I'll stretch my back a bit first, then I have to load the car. It's spring like here today also, Mystery. When I walked dRuby (M's dog) I stopped to talk to a neighbor and she said the same thing you did!

Dee hasn't posted on Facebook since 24 December but her dd posted yesterday about doing outside things with relatives. I hope Dee is just busy with family!
