Re: Happy New Year's Day!
Trusting blessings will show themselves today. Spent most of the night awake, awaiting time for DS-A, family & DD to head to Orlando airport. They left here at 4am. Got about 25 miles east of here and decided to re-check any messages. Lo' and behold they were soon back here. Their flight back to Rochester had been cancelled -who knows what reason this time? Their flight down was cancelled and they decided to drive. DGS23 had planned to drive their car back and the others were to fly. So now they have all left again on their journey north. DDIL is fit to be tied and sure she'll be fired for not showing up tomorrow for work. I'm sure it'll all work out.
Gal (of the couple of friends staying with DBIL) called this morning to say that DBIL had been extremely agitated during the night and this morning. Tried pulling out the catheter, getting out of bed, saying he needed to get out and do things. Know it's just the phase of his final days. They really wanted dh to know so he didn't try to come over this morning. DS-R is to fly down on Wednesday at some point. Not sure of time. Just hoping dbil is enough 'with it' at that point so he'll know his 'favorite' nephew is there.
Dh has been on antibiotic now for 2 days for diverticulitis. So hoping it does the trick!
I felt awful last night about the time the rest of the crew got home from the Tampa game and I went to bed. F itbit says I got a little over 3 hours altogether but it definitely was disjointed. Praying that maybe, just maybe I can start getting a little more sleep time in the nights to come.
Dsonil/dd have to go to the Tampa airport soon to pick up the Dbil's niece (daughter of his Sisinlaw who lives in front of them). Hoping she will take her Mom home with her. Think she's 89 now and definitely cannot live on her own. Then I think dd is coming home and taking a nap! She's so exhausted. She's been going great guns for the past few weeks.
DS-A & DDIL went to C amping W orld the other day with her uncle. Yesterday they went back to look at a motorhome that had come in Friday. I guess they decided to buy it, which now means DS-A will be driving their present one back down here to trade. Doesn't make sense to me but then what do I know? He texted me last night from the game with a picture of the motorhome saying, "Are we crazy?" My answer: "No DOUBT".

Re: Happy New Year's Day!
The new calendars are both up. Two appointments are written on the big calendar. Dh is getting his toenails done on Wednesday and a hot shave and haircut on Thursday, unless he changes his mind about either one. Right now he's asking why I have 2 Thursdays circled. Reminder to myself regarding garbage day. This week we are allowed 4 bags of trash instead of 2.
Supper tonight will be spaghetti and meatballs. I told dh I want to start having some sort of a schedule regarding when we eat certain foods, like pasta. I want to do that on Sundays and either make or go out for cheeseburgers on Mondays. That's as far as we got.
There was no wind this morning, so dh took 4 bags of burnables out to the fire pit and now that is dealt with. Last week I asked if he could be of more help with stuff like over flowing garbage bags. The one in the bathroom is almost 100% his, so he actually went and got it for me when I brought out a green garbage bag this morning.
I also told him that between when he had his coffee and when we will eat supper tonight there is more than 6 hours where I would need the surface of the kitchen table to sort out some stuff from the library. I am in the middle of that now. The kitchen table is the closest flat surface to the door of the library. Right now it's covered in cross stitch stuff.

Re: Happy New Year's Day!
I was up late last night with the ddog - she was terrified of the fireworks, shaking and scared, in spite of the small dose of meds. We know next time she needs the full dose for sure.
I'm pretty peopled out, but dh is planning for a fire this evening. It's a good evening for it, and will be a small group, but I can't wait for things to get back to whatever is normal here. And I'm just tired.

Re: Happy New Year's Day!
I took dh to the outpatient place - they told me to take him to the ER as he sounds like he has pneumonia. I had to drop him off as they said covid is hitting hard again and I can't afford to get sick. I want to be with him but until they see what's happening then I will wait for the call from dh.
I don't know how I let him not go yesterday - he fights it and even though deep down I knew it was right for him to go yesterday - I let him talk me out of it. He told me he was feeling better.
I knew better.
praying he feels better soon.

Re: Happy New Year's Day!
bw2, praying with you for his health. Has he been anywhere he could have gotten COVID?
Dh and I walked dog around, he had already done so early this a.m. and he's going around again. I am so achy this a.m. - sleeping so long, walking more the past few days, and probably NYE alcohol have a role. Anyway, it's dry January so I'm dry until the 31th. Always nice to lose a pound or two and start the year feeling well.
I'm working on a.m. routine off and on. I told dh that with the recent overexposure to people that I need some time upstairs by myself. I'm also picking up an order at Target today. Tomorrow I have a therapy appointment and then we're going to visitation for dneighbor's dmom.
Dh isn't working tomorrow, his office is closed and market is closed. I look forward to his return to work, and normalcy on Tuesday.

Re: Happy New Year's Day!
It's the beginning of a new year. I'm thinking...what's in store for us here? I was up past 12:00 last evening, but wasn't even paying attention to it. DH slept through it.
This morning we had real thick fog. Neither of us went to church. I am still coughing a little bit. DH is definitely contagious. We both just took it easy most of the morning. I found the London England parade on PBS and we watched that. The most fun parade I've ever seen. Lots of bands from all over the world. I really enjoyed it, it was more like a celebration than a parade. I think the rose bowl parade is on tomorrow.
I've cleaned out the refrigerator (didn't get it done yesterday). No plans for the rest of the day...did some filing, that's about all so far.
Blessed, thinking of your DH, hoping he's getting much needed help.

Re: Happy New Year's Day!
my d bil found out he had Covid right after Christmas - my 4 year old gr. niece as well.
I am worried for him - I have tried to call dh a couple times and am thinking I should go over there. - I don't know if they will let me in. I will call to see if they have taken him in at 12 - they said there was a wait list of 2-3 hours.
hello
d twins, happy New Years
I am glad you are taking time for yourself in your social life. it's great!
my social butterfly said she was thrilled to come home and not see anyone or do anything.
hi d cathy we are having spaghetti and meatballs as well!

Re: Happy New Year's Day!
And here comes Harriet dragging in. We were up laaaaate last night. Have been bleary through the a.m.
Dd24 and the young man came by earlier last evening and dd opened the present we didn't take to the party. We enjoyed them.
Got a phone call this morning from the woman who complimented so many of my quilts the other day. She called right at worship time, but of course online worship can be accessed later, not so difficult. She just wasn't thinking, I guess. Anyway, she wanted help with a sewing project over the phone as she worked. That was odd. I did help, I'm sure, but basically told the truth that YouTube is the fastest and most complete tutoring for sewing, no doubt. Me on the phone trying to understand her questions is not going to help the way visuals will.
(blessed), he's getting help now and that's wonderful - hopeful this will not be a difficult time for him.
Thinking of those awaiting good medical news for their families!
dstepdil is awaiting Covid test results, too. I don't think she feels terribly bad, but enough to worry. She was around her sister over the holidays and sister called to say she has been diagnosed with it, definitely.
Evidently, I ran into a lot of "buy-one-get-one-free" deals with my grocery order yesterday. For one thing, twice the amount of FRESH COLLARD GREENS!
(don't ya'll need some?) I need to start cooking. They are taking up a whole fridge bin!
I asked dstepdil if she wanted some and she answered not a chance, so I know she doesn't feel well. She's our constant cook.
And I stand corrected in that every item I ordered was available, so I guess I can stop being critical of the grocery. It means a lot to get the quantity of impossible meat I ordered without a problem, so that I can have those in the freezer and plan those menus. Also, the right cat food in a large quantity without having to give up and search other places.
My new planner (and HRH's one he's trying) is here. I've filled mine's front clear cover with a favorite cut-to-size greeting card front and substituted (glued) an oval "2023" for "Thinking of you". Worked great - looks expensive.
Also, I've printed my Jan healthy habits circling chart.

Re: Happy New Year's Day!
Well it must be a spaghetti new Years Day cause we’re having it too!
Been up and working around the house. Changed the bed and washed the sheets. Decluttered much of the dinning room table. Worked on my hall closet where I keep decorations, place mats. Cloth napkins, table clothes and such. Also worked on our bathroom closet and loaded up another bag of towels for the dog shelter. After all, I mean how many bath towels do two people need.
Worked on my DAR documents yesterday and will meet with my sponsor later this week at one of our library. Thankful for her help because I am stuck on a few things. Order some decorations and such for Mardi Gras am tossing around the idea of having a small party to celebrate. Perhaps a dozen people or so… very doable and a nice way to thanks to all my new friends for being so welcoming to me.
Hope all the ill husbands in the village are doing better. My nephews house… wife, year old son and in-laws that he lives with are all sick with Covid and all have been vaccinated. My same nephew had it several months ago. My nephew who is a primary dancer for the PA ballet and dances the Nut cracker has been sick for over a week with it too. However everyone here where I live are all well.
Next up is watching the Giants game and finishing the rest of my laundry. May use my Gazelle as I watch. My Fitbit has died and I have a different type version is due to get here tomorrow.
Waving Happy New Years to y’all. I’m glad 2022 I’d finally over and hoping for a better year
