Re: New Year Working Wisely Wednesday
I like working wisely Wednesday, Harriet!
My day is already feeling "off" and I just got up. It's raining and dh didn't walk the dog. I struggled into clothes (before coffee) and took her out in the rain and am wet and she didn't even "go." I only got about 1/4 around the circle before the rain started up hard so we turned back. So she still has to "go."
I have another day crowded with events. Invisible fence person here between ten and noon, assessment at two for working out. And there's a bird in the house. I bet it came in the garage last night when dh left the garage open as he was changing for bowling, and slipped into the house when the door between the two was open.
I'll need another cup of coffee before dealing with the bird. And the dog still needs to go potty.

Oh, and by the way, there's a bird in Twins' house. Wonder why she didn't lead with that? She's the calm sort. Hope the assessment is very helpful to you, Twins'.
Rain is an understatement here. We are getting a good bath today, with a soak.
All the neighborhood dogs must be looking out wondering how bad they really need to go.
HRH has a script to be picked up but not happening in THIS. I'm grateful I don't really need to leave the house until tomorrow. Waiting on some call-backs to discover what time, as others choose between early and late hours, 9 or 4, for that.
Made one dreaded phone call already and have two other DPCs on my list.
Various housekeeping and self-keeping from which to choose, otherwise.
Thinking of an Instant Pot meal today. Seems comforting.
Resting on the laurels of back-to-back perfect days of healthy habits.
lucylee's response about additions to planners of the same thickness as pages then making them twice as thick was sobering! I starting thinking further... .. if on both sides of a page, would a planner have the possibility of becoming three times as thick? (gasp. I'm just a cardfile girl here, trying to comprehend these important problems.)
Hoping to hear from the families coping with Covid today, blessed, Mystery and perhaps others. Hoping blessed's dear husband might not have to stay away from home too long.

Re: New Year Working Wisely Wednesday
Harriet - Thank you for the triple W start today.
Twins - You have a lot packed into today especially with the unknown time needed to deal with the bird and new furkid. I am interested in what you discover at the evaluation with a trainer.
DH is taking his DSis to the city today to get staples out from her Dec 12th surgery to remove cancer in colon. That surgery revealed DSisIL has extensive cancer. We don't know how many organs are involved because she had to recover from the major surgery before the medical team can proceed to the next step of cancer discovery and develop a treatment plan. DSisIL is younger than we are but she has physical limitations because she is a very large person. She struggles when walking a few steps.
Homeschool is underway.
I have a menu plan for myself today. I have gathered ingredients to make manwich for the family. I'm also making a big pan of mac/cheese for potluck meal with church family tonight.

Re: New Year Working Wisely Wednesday
Morning…
Just back from my exercise class and enjoying my second cup of coffee. Likewise my day is filled with things I want to accomplish.
Put Xmas stuff still on guest bed away
Take the sheet of guest bed, I uses it to protect my bedspread while using it as a big table
Fold and put away additional sheets
Make my moms oatmeal cookies for my brother… he has been helping me by finding and sending me document info for my DAR
Make three very necessary phone calls.. on is in AZ so I can’t call till after 11.
Set up my weekly/monthly planner
Remove things that don’t belong in my office to their correct homes.
Start rearranging my office bookshelves
Look for cabinets for my laundry room
Make sure I get my steps AND water in
I have a busy day ahead …hopefully Dee’s dh is on the road to recover and we hear good news about Blessed
See y’all later

Re: New Year Working Wisely Wednesday
I'm just now coming back through. It's been nonstop and the bird is still around. After I posted earlier, I chilled out a little, then walked dog two laps so she could potty. From there back home and breakfast, and dd called while I was eating. I had to cut it short with her because the invisible fence person arrived. And she just left.
Yesterday I went to enter continuing education for Association of Professional Genealogists. It's not only hours but several questions about what education you've done and what was most useful. I gave up yesterday (don't remember why but I was interrupted) and then tried again this a.m. to enter over breakfast when dd called. I did a screenshot and will need to start over later.
The bird is upstairs in my office room, I think. If I could get screens off the windows it could fly right out but I don't see easy way to get screen off from inside. Anyway, the door to that room didn't close behind me when I went in so bird - perhaps a wren - may be someone else in the house now. Need to wait until I hear chirping again.
Right now I just want to clear kitchen counters - there's an unassembled raised dog feeder on the counter and its packing materials. Our recycle bin was too full to accept any more last night.
I'm just feeling off balance today. I still have laundry from earlier in the washer, bed not made yet....
I
And I should eat lunch and not to at two p.m. on an empty stomach. Not a full tummy either.

Re: New Year Working Wisely Wednesday
I am good today.
Laundry is dry and ready to be folded still in the dryer just heard it shut off.
Desk duty is done. Got dson's card ready and paid a bill.
Cleared off some of the counter.
It is cold and I am still in pj's/
I mended one other pair when I started laundry fist thing.
Glad for my wise choices today journal , qt, & bujo done yea!
Had a bird in my home one time the dog caught it must be some bird dog in her.
Seems like I remember chasing it out of my bedroom with a broom held upside down.
I closed drapes and doors to the bedrooms and it went out when the dog took it out.
-----
Got dson's bday card ready for him to pick up.
Laundry is dry folded and put away now.
I boiled more eggs as I had stocked up. Still have 18 left! They were a good price where I shopped the last two stores.
I also mixed up bread it is raising. [I only bake with butter.]
Cookies smell wonderful from Rrose's kitchen.

Re: New Year Working Wisely Wednesday
Today my in-house jobs start with "W" as in "Watery Wednesdays". I've watered all the inside plants. Mother Nature is doing a very good job on the outside. It's still raining here. Very foggy as well. Because I wanted to test out the scrubber on an extendable pole that I bought at Walmart yesterday, the tub and shower are already done. Dh started a load of laundry last night AND he put it all in the dryer and turned the dryer on! (Thank you, MIL!!) He also took out a big green garbage bag full of garbage this morning!! Without being asked!
I think my water jobs are all done other than actually washing pot soaking in the sink. Maybe Walmart can be a Wednesday thing as well. Hmmm...
Supper tonight will be macaroni and cheese from a box, "German" sausages and potato salad. I think the sausages might be Brats, but the bag said "German style". Any way, whatever they are, they are getting boiled for a few minutes and then fried with onions.

Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Re: New Year Working Wisely Wednesday
Twins… better a bird than a bat like I had in my house. We tried everything to get him out… my ceilings were 14 feet tall and Findlay used the swimming pool net to capture him and then set him free.
I’m pretty on track with what I need to do. However had to do two closet resets so I could put things away.
Made my moms cookies and an see why everyone loved them. She only made them at Christmas and I was never home. The cookies have both raisins and walnuts and made with utter flavored Crisco which I haven used in years. Once they are all finished baking I’ll head to my office. Forgot I need to pay bills as well.
I also have several new recipes I want to print out. Hopefully I can get the kids over for dinner. My grandson is allergic to milk and garlic and my ddil is still breast feeding at times so she’s off of dairy as well. I found a whole chicken with veggies that can be cooked in my slow cooker and think that will work. I like to make beer chicken on the grill but my lanai is too nasty for me to cook it out there.

Re: New Year Working Wisely Wednesday
Bird is out. I called dh and he was coming home to help, but I got the screen out of the window in my office myself and bird flew away. That's settled. And he assembled the dog feeder so that's switched out. And I managed to clear the long counter on the outside of the kitchen. Now for the island and to make the bed and I'm done.
Temp is back to nearly seventy again and dog is enjoying the screened porch.
