Managing Monday PWYC
Kathryn is getting frayed from a little too much babysitting, I'm back in town and frayed this morning from starting a genealogy institute and not being ready.
Is January and the new year getting away from you and things feel crazy? Does anyone else feel that Monday needs a firm management style and perhaps redirection and guidance?

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
We got in around five yesterday but I was just too tired to regroup for Monday. We basically went all day on Saturday through dinner and got back to hotel around nine perhaps. And up again for breakfast at hotel, IKEA and very late lunch at a Jewish style deli. Didn't even cook dinner last night - we had some leftovers from lunch and leftovers in refrigerator.
And I feel like I've caught a cold - sore through, ears a little sore, and runny nose. I don't have to go anywhere so I'll hold off on COVID testing.
Webinar starts in an hour and fifteen minutes. I need to walk dog and have breakfast, and do a few other tasks:
-finishing a.m. routine
-find ruler and protractor I need for platting by hand (I have them upstairs in my desk area - ha ha)
-find cd with "Deed Mapper" software on it so I can upload to upstairs computer - or take downstairs lap top up to desk when I need software
When I received the email about needing the software I knew I already had it, but just realized at orientation on Thursday that I didn't have it on the upstairs computer, and I may not have the most current version. Just like I knew I had the protractor and ruler but didn't go locate them.

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
I'm also frayed because I was up past midnight last night.
The drive out was a bit dodgy due to the slush but the roads weren't busy so I could drive at the speed I wanted. On the way home, our gps told us that there was just a minute between the 3 options to drive home. That was significant to learn because normally one route is clogged with traffic but I always thought it would be the fastest if it was clear. Last night I learned if all three routes are clear, there is no difference in the time.
The street lights and home owners' lights on the snow covered trees were magical, especially since a good portion of the drive was along a parkway lined with historic homes. A surprising number of homeowners still have their Christmas lights on, especially surprising since it was past midnight. But it added to the magical, winter, night-scene and made me think of "the moon on the breast of the new fallen snow, gave a lustre of midday to objects below."
Ds was super appreciative that he could leave directly from the airport instead of driving into our place. Bonus, his car was warmed up and cleaned off for the drive home. His flight arrived 25 minutes early but I found that out in time to get us there in time. Unfortunately, ATC changed the arrival time (it was actually 40 minutes early) because they were so early, so we still had a bit of a wait. Even so, combined with a bathroom break, the result was still he was driving away from the airport 5 minutes before the scheduled wheels down. I pulled up to the terminal first and he went to hop into my car but I said, "If you wait, you car will be pulling up behind me" just as dh pulled up in the Prius. He was confused and pleased!
Dh is still peeved with me.
Because I went to bed after midnight, I didn't wake to pee in the night so had 6 solid hours of sleep.
I've been up since 7:40 and have unloaded the dishwasher, had my meds, tea & chocolate, light therapy x2 (it is another dull day) and sent two important emails and learned more about printing options for the booklet covering the apartment complex's history. It will still cost 40% of our money on hand but online services will give us 10 extra copies at a reasonable enough price that I think people will buy them. One company gives us access to an online copy of the booklet for people to read it that way, so we could mount a link to that on our website.
My 9 a.m. "Are you dressed and ready to go?" alarm has been snoozed twice so far, but I'm ready to step away from the computer now and get my shower and get dressed.
Then I'll alternate focus between housework and residents' association stuff with maybe an hour of bookkeeping as well. And try again to get an appointment for my mammogram and to book an in-person doctor appointment. Slowly the piles of paper surrounding my desk as thinning out. Dgs6 and I did some shredding on the weekend (I hope he liked it enough to do 10 minutes or so each time he visits me, so I can slowly hand that task over to him!)
Yesterday, the strap of my decorated mask for church broke when I took it off to have a drink so I had to switch to a plain backup in my purse. So I got three more of them decorated (snowflakes or forest scenes) last night while I was staying up late. So those need to be put away at the front door and my markers put away as well. My goal is to become better at keeping my desk area clean since I have to drop the roll-top often.
Just remembered I have to pick up my ADD meds too. Can't do that tomorrow or the next day due to babysitting and they are a restricted drug so dh can't pick them up for me.
Twins: I'm fighting a cold too. I felt pretty chesty, had a slight sore throat, and was a bit achy when I went to bed but I find the symptoms go away with rest. I feel fine now except for being tired after the short night. I'll be shooting for a 30 minute nap around noon today. Maybe you should take one as well! (I use a ton of Vitamin C and zinc chewable tablets to boost me through the day, fluorescent pee for the win!)
Cathy I'll see you over there after my shower!

I'm going to knitting and then I have to take the youngest cat to a vet appointment to get her ears checked. She's been shaking her head a lot since Thursday. Not as much on Saturday and even less on Sunday, but the appointment has been made and she has been give her "Happy Cat" meds.
I need some "happy human" or "happy wife/caregiver" meds.

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
Morning…
We had a huge storm during the night with lots of thunder and lightning. I love these. Got up a little late but made it to class on times. Came home and enjoying my first cup of coffee.
Harriet… I only have a limited area to grow here at my new home. My backyard that runs into the lake is very small and it is where I need to plant my sunnies because it faces south and get the needed sun to grow them. I will add several large planters in my lanai to grow some others as well. I’ve grown many sunnies before in them.
You can buy “sliders” at HD or even WM to place under furniture to move it. They work great and I keep them on hand in case I need to move things. I have used rugs and pieces of carpet before but in my opinion these work better.
Have the normal things to do around my house today. It’s overcast and drizzly so I’m glad I got everything done yesterday. Also need to do a short grocery run later because we are out of a few things.

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
I woke up at 4:50 could not get to sleep again so got up and stripped the sheets off and got them in the wash.
Then dumped the trash before trash day Tues. it's good to feel a bit ahead of the game and on track.
Last nite's meeting was great!
Two dinner meetings next weekend I am contemplating my options! LOL!
I have things I can cook in my new pot!
My Bs was awesome. I slept well till I woke up.
Working on my weekly stuff.
Take it one step at a time
one day at a time.
Hugs to all who need it.

I saw my trainer on Thursday and he texted positive for COVID on Friday. Good news is I don't have to try to get workout tomorrow (they're closing for a few days), bad news is could be I have COVID, not a "cold."
