Class is over for today but there's homework - although instructor did say do not stay up all night doing it, lol. There's also a plenary session tonight with speaker, but I don't think I'll get there.

Dh just got home downstairs and he, very kindly, is bringing home supper for us. I'll come back up and start homework once I eat.

I need to find COVID tests too. I don't remember where I moved them to, lol. Dh is in a mood about me possibly being sick. He's kind of in a mood generally, to be honest.

BTW, ROBINS! Been meaning to say they've been around for the last few days. So my northern friends, take heart!

I have seen a couple of Robins the last few weeks.

We had bright sunshine, no wind and almost 50F temps today. Tomorrow the temperatures stay below freezing and we are predicted to get 3-10" of snow. Several schools have already announced they are closed (our school hasn't posted their decision yet). On the good side Wednesday temperature will be back to mid 40's so the snow will quickly disappear.

Dh and I were watching the news earlier. Did anyone realize that there have been

THIRTY mass shootings in the United States in the past 23 days??? Scary stuff.


I did some pots and pans after supper, which was spaghetti and meatballs, by the way.
Then I unwrinkled a load in the dryer. As that was going I did a rinse and spin on last night's load.
Last night's load is now in the dryer and most of the unwrinkled load has been put away.
Dishwasher is full and doing it's thing.

Tomorrow might be leftover spaghetti or turkey drumsticks that dh took out of the freezer earlier. Haven't decided yet.

There were 647 last year which was down from 690 in 2021.

We just got a call from the school. No school tomorrow. The snow is predicted to start here around 10am tomorrow.

I just realized that we are following the public-school calendar so homeschool is also having a SNOW DAY! My scheduled workload tomorrow just got cut in half. WooooHOOO!!

I hope the snow is enjoyable and the roads passable, LadyM.

I have not seen robins. It is possible that I don't see ground birds here as much as I did at the other house because there is less lawn visible as I go out the most-used door here.

Dd43 reports that her high-level meeting went well. There had been kerfluffle previously and she was specifically directed to calm that down if possible while they went over practical things. She felt good about the meeting. Everyone is feeling some pressure over the level of demands, as the whole univ. expands percentages of research across all the colleges there.

Tonight, WonderBoy is supposed to choose a location in his house and ask permission from a parent to create a crime scene tomorrow. Can't say he doesn't have an interesting course in forensic science. I told him he is not allowed to get good at crime.

I've had a good day eating-wise.

Took me a while to cuop. I got up and walked out to the kitchen, and discovered that after my nice warm shower which felt wonderful now I am so stiff I can hardly bend my knees.

Oh well. Not surprised. We worked on the gutters. Up and down the ladder from 11:00 to 4:00. I should get a medal. DH forgot we were planning on starting this today. I could have skipped out on it...but I didn't. I asked him if he wanted to work on them. YES! So, we tried to get stuff together to do the upper ones along 3 sides, but that wasn't working very well, so we tackled the rest of them. My goodness there was so many little stones in them. I finally got a little narrow trowel which helped so I didn't have to use my hands so much. I've rubbed my skin raw in several places. When I got to places where I couldn't just throw them over the side, I had a little empty container to hold and fill up. That thing got heavy. DH moved the ladder around for me, handed me the hose up and down, all that stuff. We got all the way around the house and just have the top high ones to do.

Sure glad of leftovers for dinner. DH had a plate and I had a couple eggs and we finished the homemade coleslaw. DH wanted to go get a hamburgers. I was too tired to go out.

I hope I'm ok tomorrow. Surely I can't be any stiffer than I am now.

Thinking about those moving things for furniture...and they work best on a smooth floor, like tile or wood. Not so sure they do well on carpet, and doesn't Cathy have carpet there? In that case maybe wheels would work better...unless it's a really low pile carpet...

I found DD11 report card on the floor underneath her bed. When I saw it I assumed she was hiding it from us. When I asked her about it she shrugged her shoulders and said she wasn't hiding it but didn't think it was important. I asked her if she knew what her semester grades were. Nope. She didn't know and didn't care. I showed her the report card with first semester grades being A's in the 8 classes with the lowest grade being a 95. She responded "Ok" and seemed unimpressed. Then I reminded her that during a discussion with her counselor that it was decided that DD11 would receive $5 for each A. That got DD11 attention, and she finally became excited about her report card.

Harmony - I hope you're not too sore tomorrow. I can't imagine being on a ladder for that many hours. You and your DH are a good match with both of you continuing to do what seems impossible to me.

DD11 made cinnamon rolls. All day long I made healthy food decisions....until I walked through the kitchen and saw the freshly iced warm cinnamon rolls on the counter. #NoWillPower

Finished up homework mostly. I gave up on some of the hand platting with protractor and ruler - it just seems so fiddly it makes me feel crazy. I platted the same deeds using software pretty quickly and figured some things out. It just feels like some of the others do this so quickly and efficiently and I'm plodding along.

Haven't tested yet. Dh is in denial I think that I might be sick.
