The addition of using hip pad has resulted in reducing stress level plus my productivity has increased dramatically. Another change I made is when top-of-the-hour happens I tell myself that I am important, so I immediately stop what I am doing and get my 250 steps in. I have stopped monitoring if I have met my hourly step goal because I know it is done.

I did some cooking for future meals and packaged them into individual portion sizes.
** shakshuka sauce made & packaged for 11 meals
** Egg Roll in a bowl made & packaged for 9 meals.
** I also ordered the clear plastic plates that I have used in the past when preparing individual green salads.

My hip pad is used for immediate capture and short-term list. I use a 3x5" spiral memo pad because it can be put in my hip pocket if necessary. It is about as simple as it can get and that is what I need when I am feeling overwhelmed.

Normally use a very detailed hourly tasks list that includes google calendar appointments and excel sheet tasks list that is incorporated into a OneNote daily journal page. I still have and use that but sometimes I need to revert to the KISS method. Today my brain needs to keep it as simple as possible

Back home and resting.

Drive to dentist was tense but manageable. At least 90% of the cars on the road were driving according to the conditions so it wasn't scary. The road between here and highway had been plowed from the highway to here but barely touched in the other direction. There was a bus stuck, having not made the turn through the deep snow onto the street its route follows. Then, up at the main road leading to the highway ramp, across from the fire-station, it was as if there had been no plowing at all in the right hand lane so I sat for a long time as cars in that lane wriggled their way out of the snowfilled lane to the snowy lane and went around one car really badly stuck car (likely didn't have snow tires.) I was far enough back that I could take the snowy lane easily. But then the turn onto the main street was really slow with my tires spinning like mad. Both those roads are bus roads, plus the fire station, and the snow clearing was far from adequate for either.

Dentist visit was fine. The drive back was much easier but that same part of the route by the fire station was still heavily snow covered. Whereas my direction of the road was wet pavement.

I texted dh when I left that I could pick him up from the LRT station if he wanted since I was stopping to pick up groceries on my way home. His bus to his hair cut was 15 minutes late so I didn't want him waiting around for another late bus. At this point, he was still before his hair appointment, since he had left home an hour before his appointment. After the cut, he actually grabbed a bus that went roughly to our area, rather than the train, and was getting off at the grocery store, so I just waited a few extra minutes for him and saved him the 10 minute walk home.

Lucky I did. He had an online call with the surgeon at 2:30 but at 2:00, just 10 minutes after we walked through the door, the surgeon called. So there was a slight scramble (I was just getting my soup off the stove, dh was in the bathroom) and then he had the call. No real news except 'soon' according to the surgeon is 4+ weeks and it could be 3 months. The only way to get it faster is to put dh in the hospital. But he really isn't sick enough to warrant that so I have ethical issues about doing that. On the plus side, we know it will not be within the next 2 weeks.

I think I'll take a nap now. I should go for a walk because it is a bit brighter out right now, but I'm really tired.

Edited to add: the snowfall warning has now been lifted. We got 11" of snow in total. So that was a decent storm.

Well all my plans for accomplishing much today went out the window. The Health Care Nurse said she had to call in a report on dh's black stools -not sure why as the Dr already knows that. However 2 or 3 hours later we got a call that dh was ordered to ER. So off we went -again. This was his 4th time in ER in the last 3 weeks. Actually his hemoglobin was up a bit but very obviously quite anemic. They put him on iron pills. His potassium was also very low (sure wish there was some way we could monitor that at home, as it seems to often be a culprit!) Any rate they gave him a treatment for the low potassium. ER Dr agreed there is no doubt he's bleeding from the intestines somewhere and for us to push even harder if we can to get an appointment for the camera pill. He also added a number for a 'blood doctor' who he feels we should see to be sure they're not missing anything. I'll somehow check this with his Primary and see what he says. I didn't stop to get his iron yet but will go first thing in the morning.

Biscuit just gave me a scare as she was barking and whining up a storm and then came to get me. She immediately went in to dh so I was afraid something had happened with him. He says he's "ok" but I can barely understand him at this point -but then he was sleeping away.

We ended up going out to the new Indian restaurant in town. So good. I had enough left overs to bring them home and they will be my lunch tomorrow.

(((Hugs to those dealing with serious medical conditions))) Please remember to take care of yourself as you are under extra stress.

DD11 and academic team won the region contest!

We got pizza takeout because the kids want what they consider real food. *sigh* How do you teach kids to eat healthy? Obviously, I don't know how.

WTG, Lady M's DD11! Yeah good luck with that one, Lady M -trying to learn to eat healthy.
He also has been having horrible nightmares - really scary ones like when he was under certain meds.
I keep thinking baby steps.
I keep seeing that with dh too, Blessed. Yes, baby steps -keep trying to remind dh of that. He's actually been sleeping all evening. Need to get him up and headed to bed.

My "plan (in jello)" tomorrow is to go first thing to drug store for dh's iron pills and start getting those into him. The closer we get to next weekend the more concerned I am that he not be in the hospital when it's time for his db's memorial service.

Congratulations to LadyM’s dd and her team!!

(((Dee))) Dh here is taking iron.

As all of you could have predicted, I’ve done nothing today.
Finally reconciled bank statement. Otherwise, I have mostly napped and read today. My e-library book FINALLY started making sense and I got interested in it. Until now, it has jumped from character to character and time frames so much that I couldn’t follow it! It is The Family Remains by Lisa Jewel, if anyone is interested.
Tomorrow is another day.
