Oh, bw2. I'm so sorry. It really is three steps forward, two steps back. You have such a good attitude - we're here for you if you need to vent or express whatever you're feeling. What a terrible facility.

I feel like I have been going nonstop all day. I've swept and washed all the floors. Bathroom floor was awful.
Cleaned out 2 of the 3 kitty litter boxes. Put away almost all of the Costco purchases, most of which were green garbage bags, recycling bags and household garbage bags. I had to pull boxes off the shelves, take out partial rolls, put the new boxes in and put the partial rolls on the shelf. I also had to re-arrange other things on that shelf. I found a box of large compost bags and a box of small compost bags, so I don't need to get any plastic bags of any sort for at least a couple of months.

Same with cat food. We bought a case of 48 tins, so together with the tins I already had, we won't have to buy cat food for almost 2 months. Now they have 6 different flavours.

Scalloped potatoes followed the roast into the oven. Fat got scored and rubbed with salt. It smells really good in here.

Dh has a fire going for me, because I think the rainy, overcast day called for a cozy fire. Now I'm going to join him and watch Mahones play with the football.

Good news I made it to church and took the stuff I intended on taking yea!
I was late and missed the praise and worship part but no worries, I did stay for the lunch & business meeting.
Called dson and checked in with dson.
Got some rocks painted just for fun.
This morning made two pillow cases yea they turned out well.

I have been in the sewing room pressed and pined the next two pieces to sitch on .

dh has stopped bleeding!
The respiratory believes it's from them pushing the suctioning tube too deep. That's why after they suctioned him that he would start bleeding.
HIs pulmonary dr. said it could be that the trac is short and is hitting his scar tissue from his cancer treatment years ago.
I really don't buy that as since he left the place; he has stopped the bleeding and blood clots in his mouth.

What is happening: tomorrow they are putting in a smaller trac and a longer extension so that no one hits his scare tissue.
they are now thinking that even though he may have cancer in his lung that it could also be dead tissue after the big infection - his mass shrunk from 6.3 cm to 2.5 cm. Now we wait to see if they can take a sample.

The good for dh but terrifying for me:
He won't have to go back to the nursing home.
They will give me training to handle his new trac, his oxygen, his congestion, his exercise, and his feeding tube. I have done the trac before and the feeding tube but I am so worried that his oxygen will go down and give him another heart attack. oh well - my years of caring for him and others will be of help.
I have to get a good bed for him and set up a temporary shower etc. on the first floor.

I think I will need a lot of strength! The nice thing is that his sisters and dd's will be taking the training with me so that I am not alone on caring for him.
also good - dh doesn't have covid lung that many long term covid patients have.

That’s great news and I know both is you will be glad to be home. Also great that others are training with you so you will have help and relief.

Blessed, I will pray that you learn and get comfortable with all that you'll need to do for your DH. And that the work is not too much and too tiring for you. I would look for some home health aids who could come and help with things sometimes to give you a break.

I have added to that To-Do list. It will never get completed if I continue to add to it. Monday I will start a new one, beginning with the things not done on this list. I did three of the items and am figuring out how to do one of the next things. I must open up the sewing machine for that. I've done the hand sewing already. I'm fixing the hem on the new top sheet that has raveled out. I have cut off the "fringe" and sewed it down. Now I'm going to cover it with a nice edge to make it look better, be sturdier and last longer. I have some very pale pink to use. Course, I had to go through all my fabric and decide what I wanted to use. There is pink pattern on the hems of the pillow cases now that I put on when I had to lengthen them. So this will match nicely. My walls are pale peach. Do you know how hard it is to find pink sheets? They don't exist anywhere down here. Maybe for a nursery...

RRose, I don't know any of the cabinet makers in your area, and any up here are just for kitchen and bath. I'm thinking Ikea which you do have down there somewhere. Do you have a Container Store in the area? I'd love to have a set up like that in my garage. We have wire stuff in our laundry room, and metal shelving and used kitchen white cabinets in the garage. HD should have something, they have cabinets you can put together, but I don't know if they're specifically for garages or not. Oh, there's a company here called Closets and More... look into that. They have different stuff, Murphy beds, etc. Worth a try to look.

Blessed, that is good news for all of you — especially that DH’s sisters will be helping you. Now you know he will have good care and maybe you can set up a schedule to make sure you get some rest. I would think home health would definitely be available too.

It had just been an ordinary Sunday. More smiles than last night though, so that’s good.
