Well at least I'm here this morning. Been trying to figure out a few snafus. One was a $1.75 charge on our credit card statement that was charged by dh 1/26. Couldn't figure it out and finally called their #. Guy asked me if dh had used a vending machine and I couldn't figure it out as he was in the hospital that day. Finally dawned on me that he used the vending machine by the ER drop off while he waited for me to get our car. Mystery solved. Only $1.75 but I didn't want it to be a scam and a 'try' at our account. Felt better.

Meanwhile DD texted me at 8am. She has Tuesday off as a bereavement day and planned to drive us to dh's appointment with the gastroenterologist in Winter Garden. (The other side of Orlando). I don't do well with complicated driving anymore especially around unfamiliar territory. She realized she has a game at her 'fun job' in Tampa that evening and the appointment isn't until 3:15 -about the time she'd leave here for Tampa. The other thing with that is that my engine light is still on. Not sure I dare take it that far with that staring me in the face. At least I now know it's the 'oil pressure sensor' so not sure it's essential. Still have 67% oil left I do know that.

Lady M, I have ordered several 3x5 notebooks which should arrive today or tomorrow. My ? for you is when you use your 'hip cards', do you list things you need to do as a list or one to a page? I did use another notebook the other day and seemed to accomplish more throughout the day. Hoping it'll help me stay on track with oh so many distractions.

Dh today and yesterday just seems so bad to us. All this is of course affecting his brain no doubt. Just so wish we could get some solid answers and get on with it, whatever that entails. He's definitely ready for surgery if that's what it entails and I'm sure it will. This would be the small intestine if what we suspect is true. He just feels so crappy all the time and is barely with it. Fairly sure the home health nurse would like to see him back in the hospital but have no idea what they'd do but send him home.

Blessed, do take care of you. I know only too well how easily that's said so uneasily done. But we'll keep on, keepin' on, won't we!

Met with the guy and gave him the registrations, got him to sign a cheque. Have made up the deposit.

Got the church annual report printed off. That's also on the 12th, same day as the social and AGM, and not on my list for today but I was tidying my desk and wanted to toss the reminder to print it off! That took two emails (the link sent didn't work.)

Opened the two piles of mail. Emailed the PoA with the list of stuff for B and my email was blocked. Now I have to make a phone call. That actually 'shut me down' and I've taken some time off to just play games and listen to podcasts.

The sun is out a bit (hazy) so I think I should get my nerve up to walk to the bank.

Harriet & Dee - Thank you for keeping the monthly threads organized.

I finished creating & printing the February calendar and the hourly scheduling. I feel more hopeful, calm & confident when the must-do's are planned.
I also created the daily journal template. This month I am using a daily checklist that I used some time ago. The way I used this before was to write a few words about what I did each day. I set the bar very low in each of the items, so I can be successful with very little effort.
What I do affects who I am
Update habit tracking
Piano play/sing ONE verse
Read ONE page
Learn ONE thing
LGLP - check on ONE person
Quilt/sew ONE thing
Garden ONE thing
Mentor ONE life skill
Declutter ONE thing
Play ONE game/puzzle
Cook/bake ONE thing

Lunch was a smorgasbord of dishes - Pinto beans & ham, hot cornbread & butter, fried potatoes, pulled pork, and green salad.

DS14 is at work. Today he is learning how to deal with a hot water pipe that burst and flooded a basement. The owner didn't know about it until the water was 5' deep! Besides pumping the water out and repairing the busted pipe, they also will also help the owner by removing everything from basement.

I'm having a snack and then will head to grocery. Installation of the fence took longer than I expected. Anyway, I'll put the glass and shred in the car and go. I can make three things off the list then. I decided to use scallops we have in the freezer for our supper, with a green salad and cup of tomato soup left from Sunday.

Ugh. Didn't post this earlier.

______________________________________

Later, back home. Ta das
-groceries, altho not put away yet
-dropped off glass for recycling
-dropped off shred at UPS store
-deposited cemetery check

I've crossed five things off my list for the week, out of seventeen listed. Not a great track record, but I'm trying. Most of then were carried over from week before last because last week was a bust.

Harriet, we seem to have doubled up on some of those monthly threads. You've offered more opportunities than usual for us!

Groceries are put away. Going to go walk dog a couple of laps. My step count this week is off between the rain and colder weather. And the weather channel app just let me know that we will have light rain starting soon.

Does it have a lift on the back
Thanks for sharing your DH experience with this type of work vehicle. This pickup does not have a lift.
two reasons for ds14 not to get the truck is that having it at hand and being ready to go to work full-time might lead him to quit school early. And the second reason is that it is denying the use of it for someone who needs a good used work truck right now.
Quitting school is not an option. Unless I am dead or a total disaster happens, DS14 is going to finish school. Going to college and/or trade school is highly encouraged but I'm leaving that decision up to him.
The truck is being used daily so I don't understand denying someone else. We do have an abundance of everything in life...food, lodging, vehicles. Sometimes I wondered if I would be willing to give it all away to others. I try to imagine what it would be like if I were a monk living in a monastery and owning no possessions. It does challenge me in ways that i can't grasp.
we've noticed that it's a chick magnet. Women are impressed when they see him working with it.
Mr Harmony will forever be the chick magnet. DS14 can only dream to obtain that status someday. In our discussion, I did ask DS14 "Someday you are going to want to go on a date. What do you think will happen if you arrive in a work vehicle to pick her up? DS14 said "if she doesn't want to ride in it then she isn't someone I would want to go out with".
My ? for you is when you use your 'hip cards', do you list things you need to do as a list or one to a page?
I start a new page each day. I put the day and date on top of the page. Then I write whatever comes to mind as I go through the day. If the item doesn't need action, then I put a mark in front of the item, so I know it isn't pending. Once everything on the page is marked complete then I fold the page in half letting me know there isn't anything pending. I can easily unfold the page to review completed items and retrieve information if needed.
your schools have missed many days in the past couple of weeks. Will they make them up at the end of the year
The school has several (I think 5 days) inclement weather days built into their calendar. If the weather days aren't used, then spring break is extended. On the rare years that more weather days are used then they extend the end of the school year.
