Re: Tuesday Teamwork
What a lot on your mind, bw2! You and dh are in my thoughts.
I feel much better after the workout. I told R, the trainer what is going on and he kept the workout simple and gave me some time on the bike and a recumbent stepper for mind clearing too.
Dh is on phone, TV sound is off.
Dog concerns were addressed and the trainer can be here tomorrow afternoon to adjust the fence and assess her reactions.
I'm going upstairs for awhile.

Re: Tuesday Teamwork
Hello, hello! Happy Valentine's Day, (or not,
Elizabeth).
DH and I have very boring Valentine's Day celebrations. Every year, we exchange cards and candy. I get him conversation hearts; he gets me Turtle chocolates. Also, I buy chocolate covered strawberries from my cousin, for myself basically, because he is not so crazy about them. I'm not complaining, just saying there's no real surprise or excitement to it all. He always writes the sweetest notes on his cards, though, and usually, I feel like I've been too brief in return with mine. He never seems disappointed, though, and I guess we're doing something right. We've been celebrating together now since 1979.
Of course, today, we were only together till noon -- he, ds, and a friend have gone to basketball game at College Town.
With a full day to myself and no where to go tonight, I am finding myself a little overwhelmed by all I want to do. I want to do ALL the stuff AT ONCE. Can't focus on where to start.
So far -- I have checked a few things off the list:
[x] S2S, morning routine, including Bible reading
[x] Contact 2 people re: teacher group next week
[x] Send mass email re: teacher group
[x] Send report of phishing emails to A-river and PPal
[x] Make appt for ob-gyn check-up next month
[x] Go to bank
[x] Go to post office
[x] Pick up strawberries
Now... the other stuff OMM:
[ ] Finish laundry -- one load that wasn't done yesterday
[ ] Iron dh's clothes
[ ] Vacuum/dus
[ ] Clean bathrooms
[ ] Straighten up dgrands' room
[ ] Declutter in closets
[ ] Take stuff to donation drop off
[ ] Hem/fabric tape two pairs of pants
[ ] Call dmom
[ ] Order dmom's birthday gift
(BTW, her Valentine's Day card is lying here beside her Christmas presents -- I forgot to mail it -- and I guess we'll celebrate all three on her birthday. Sigh. What a year.
I am also so nervous about her having a colonoscopy in two weeks. DH says he wouldn't do it; she is doing so well right now -- he's afraid "messing with" her intestines will "stir up" more problems and she'll be back in the hospital again. Of course, as ddil said, I shouldn't listen to anything dh says re: doctors and medical procedures, because we all know how he is about these things.)
[ ] Call daunt
[ ] Zone work in kitchen
[ ] Exercise
See??? My mind is just all over the place. And after writing all that down, I want to take a nap.
I think I will start the laundry and come back and try to organize this a little bit. Some of those tasks have been "OMM" for quite some time.
(((BLESSED))) I am so sorry all this stuff has been so frustrating! Praying y'all get everything settled SOON!!!
(((TWINS))) People. People should know no one wants dinner guests the night they return home from the hospital. SMH.
(((MYSTERY))) Car trouble is sooo frustrating.
Harriet, thanks for searching out an answer re: helia. As you said, still very concerning. I did not realize the two schools were so close together.
There is very little teamwork around this house also. DH tries, but he just doesn't feel up to much work anymore. Things that require him to be on his feet/legs for any length of time are just out of the question these days.
Brrr, Nancy & Cathy -- sorry it's so cold for you! Our weather is fairly nice today, 69 degrees, but we are under a wind advisory, and storms are predicted for tomorrow.
Kathryn, you are making great progress! IKWYM about looking forward to AND dreading having dgs for extended time. (((HUGS))) This weekend, I just about lost my cool with mine. I was just so tired Sunday, and they were so noisy, and I just couldn't take it. Then dgd (1) had an accident and wet her pants, and (2) spilled a cup of orange juice all over the kitchen floor. (The accident with the pants was under dispute. They were outdoors playing "cops and robbers," and SHE SAYS he wouldn't let her out of jail; HE says that is not right, she never told him she had to go to the bathroom.) I told them, we are going to have to have some quiet time when they stay together for a couple nights in the next week or so... and then... oh. my. goodness. When ddil goes on that cruise with her mom... and ds has a 4-night trip... and they are both in ball practice...
* Of course, ball practice may be a God-send. Maybe they'll be tired and ready for baths and bed when they get home!
Harmony... no good deed goes unpunished, right? Your bicycle card sounds so sweet. (((HUGS)))
Rose -- how nice you look for grocery shopping!
That is so nice about finding a relative.
Ditto comments about how much you are accomplishing, LadyM. You are amazing.

Re: Tuesday Teamwork
Yesterday's house blessing chores are finished.
I went for a walk after mopping the kitchen floor, then I sat on a bench in the sun for a half hour resting and soaking up the sun. That bench is special to me because I worked hard to convince the previous owners to put it there and it is used almost daily in non-freezing or windy weather because it gets afternoon sun and is a good place for people who don't want to be alone to go sit and visit with people walking by. In the summer, it is used in the morning when it is still shady there!
Once I was back upstairs I started in on the bedrooms, then the living and dining rooms. Just as I finished up, the Skype call with the grands started.
Dh is off now to get Chinese food for himself for dinner. I'll have chili from a can and crackers. I ate some grapes and had a hard time with those because the broken tooth is on the side I favour to chew on, so I expect I won't be eating much tonight. I have a ton of cut raw veggies to eat up. The one time I have handy, healthy, food, and I'll have to cook it up tomorrow night as a stir fry.

Re: Tuesday Teamwork
Elderberry luncheon was perfect in every way. There were 15 in attendance and the way the table chairs were situated made it possible to be facing each other where everyone could talk/hear. The food was varied & plenty. We visited for over 2 hours. #TreasuredMoments #TreasuredFriends
The fence contractor isn't working today because of the wind. It is sustained 30mph with 50+ mph gust. You have to get a good hold on any door you open outside because the wind will blow it out of your hand. Ditto on anything being carried.
The wind blew over one of the rabbit hutches while we were at luncheon. The rabbit hutch broke apart when it landed. I thought the rabbit would run off but it was sitting next to the hutch waiting to be picked up. Now we are down to 2 rabbit hutches. Instead of every rabbit having their own hutch we need to have a male hutch and a female hutch. I put what I thought was the 2 girl rabbits together but one of the girls started acting like a male (mating). So I decided that rabbit was a male and moved it into the male hutch with the other male. Then that male started mating with him? Her? I'm clueless. I'm not experience in telling the sex of rabbits. There is a good chance that my cluelessness will result in baby rabbits. We didn't have plans to multiple the number of rabbits but they aren't listening to me. DD11 came home from school and said the 2 female rabbits act like their mating as a way to establish dominance. DD11 took the female rabbit out of the male rabbit hutch but there is a good chance we will be having baby rabbits in mid-March.
The wind blew one of the windmills apart. The windmill blades were turning so fast that the blades came off and flew across the yard. I brought the other windmill inside before it was destroyed.
There is widespread internet outage with no time prediction of repairs. I can only guess there are poles & wires blown down causing the outage.
I find listening to the roar of the wind hour after hour is not something that I enjoy. I am ready for some calm. Walking outside feels dangerous because of random things flying like a projectile through the air. The color of the sky is brown from the blowing dirt. #NotAFan
The Internet is back! I'm posting this before leaving to go to a local BBQ place to support one of DD11 friends that is singing/playing guitar.
Random saying of DD11 "If tomato is a fruit, then that makes ketchup a smoothie"

Re: Tuesday Teamwork
Well, this is embarrassing.
Y'all know how much I accomplished from that list above?
ZERO. Not one thing.
When I said I wanted to take a nap after considering it all... well, that's exactly what I did. And I slept for almost two hours. Considering that I have averaged less than 6.5 hours per night, maybe I needed it.
But I am going to try to get the ironing done. I estimate it will take about 2.5 hours, so I should have plenty of time to get finished before dh gets home. He said I could put it off till Thursday, as far as he was concerned, re: when he needed anything that was in the stack, but I said, no... better get it done; around here I never know when I'm going to get a call to take someone (dmom) to the hospital.
* Although, as noted in previous post, she has been home six weeks this go-around, and that's the longest stay at home, I think, since October.
That ridiculously long list does include everything I want to do this week. So it is unrealistic to think I'd do it all today. And nothing on the list absolutely HAS TO be done today, or this week, for that matter. But to organize the importance of the various items...
Things that should be done daily or every other day:
[ ] Exercise
[ ] Call dmom
Things that should be done this week:
[/] Finish laundry -- one load that wasn't done yesterday
[x] Iron dh's clothes
[ ] Vacuum/dust
[ ] Clean bathrooms
[ ] Straighten up dgrands' room
[ ] Order dmom's birthday gift
[ ] Zone work in kitchen
Other stuff OMM that needs to be done eventually:
[ ] Declutter in closets
[ ] Take stuff to donation drop off
[ ] Hem/fabric tape two pairs of pants
[ ] Call daunt

I had dinner and then spent the evening watching the superbowl commercials. I feel this year's was not a very good crop, few even elicited a reaction from me.
I'm off to bed now.

Re: Tuesday Teamwork
Dd43 and her youngest dropped me at an appt today and then dd24 picked me up and took me home so she could visit with us. I enjoyed wearing a new Valentine's top today (well, just red and white - no words so it's still enjoyable later). Saw the condescending doctor this time, but whatever. They rotate. This too will is passing.
Dd24 was full of info, having accepted the job offer with the posh title. She will have excellent benefits, all weekends off, and 21 paid days of leave annually, effective immediately. Her previous places of employment definitely had none of the above. Her father has officially exhaled for the first time since she announced the Fine Arts major and made Computer Science a minor.
In her never-without-drama life, however, her landlady has announced she is selling the boarding house property, so the boarders will need to find other places to live. Sigh. Dd knew it was desirable, and neighbors on the street were selling, but she didn't see this coming. HRH says, "you'll live right here". Without missing a beat, he says that. Ooooookay.... .. we'll talk. He says, "she doesn't own anything - how much trouble can she be?"
30 mph, LadyM! So sorry high winds caused damage. Ketchup smoothie - makes sense to me.
If lucylee is also having high wind predictions, maybe I should check the weather. I've been writing down the temps at the time of my appts and that has helped me with clothing/shoe decisions, but I never clicked to see wind.
Hugs to Twins' and Nancy for tearful moments, easily understood.

Re: Tuesday Teamwork
Elizabeth, I usually don't bother with protein powders in smoothies but believe, as LadyM's dd does, that smoothies have lots of real fruit, and also real greens for their protein. However, my dd43's gift of K'Chava (sp?) powder has so much nutrition to brag on, and I actually do like it and now recommend. It ain't cheap, but then it lasts a long time. I just use one scoop at a time. Not their recommended two.
At the risk of sounding ... not nice ... ... I've been sent to a dietician lately and we clashed a bit. The K'Chava was one of the few parts of my diet she didn't criticize. She seemed almost relieved that I was finally telling her about a properly processed food. No further comment on that. Anyway, it's protein does look good on paper, and it translates into actual food variety in the powder.
