Re: Thursday PWYC
Went to bed hearing the east side of the house getting thrashed with sleet or ice pellets or something. Dh and I had a wonderful fire in the fireplace while we watched tv after supper. Woke up to lots of snow, but one part of our patio remained absolutely clear due to the wind. There is a snow drift right outside our back door. We didn't lose power thankfully. Lots of closures for various things today, including schools. So glad neither one of us need to go anywhere today. Still under a freezing rain warning. I made dh a coffee so he didn't need to go to Tim Hortons.
I need to do dishes, put away clean laundry and wait until it's time for supper. Dh really wants to go to a local restaurant just to get out of the house. We'll see what happens.

We got snow, just just 4", not the 8" that was threatened. It is currently 11F with a -8F windchill and it will get windier this afternoon.
Nancy, when you posted your temps, I did a double take since my mind interpreted them in Celsius!
Last night, Twin's said:
I was to bed at midnight. I got distracted looking to buy baskets to organize my chest freezer. This morning I slept in and then got up and while the tea steeped (and for a good amount of time after) I emptied my freezer, scraped off the frost (not too bad; it was really, really, bad in Sept, another example of keeping to my zone work schedule makes the housework less difficult), and the accurately measured it. I have a half dozen options in my Amazon wish list and will calculate what will fit, in what quantities. My freezer didn't come with a 'hanging' basket on the top so I need to make sure whatever I buy will actually work. Amazon listings are frustrating to work with, one confidently listed the measurements in CMs and then gave the same numbers in inches. It does make a difference!
BTW: I'm noting more and more rust in my freezer. Do I need to consider replacing it? If so, perhaps I should hold off on spending all this money since I'm not sure another freezer will be exactly the same interior size.
I'm still having tea (chocolate is long gone!) and will continue to play with this project.

Re: Thursday PWYC
Now the vet appointment for Millie has fallen through the cracks. I guess it was yesterday morning and I missed it. I didn't get the reminder call the night before, tho, so I thought that it was today. When I called, it's not today. So I just rescheduled for next week and got it on the calendar so I won't miss it. I also need to text my massage therapist and get on his schedule for next week. My lower back is tight, perhaps because I've gotten 11-12K steps the last two days, after a very slow walking start to the week.
I think I'm going on to the grocery this a.m. then, midmorning, when the rain has stopped. Dcleaning lady to be here around 12:30 and I have workout at two followed by taking my sunglasses in to (hopefully finally) get lenses replaced with bifocal lenses. I had to cancel appt last week when dh was still in hospital. I can only go in when their lab is open, so they can do it while I wait.

Re: Thursday PWYC
Yesterday was a pretty busy day with Dr's appointment, etc. Today dh has PT coming anywhere between 11-1. They always give a 2-hour window, which I'm not really fond of. But it's better than nothing at all I guess.
I was supposed to take dsonil to his Dr today for shots in his back. Said we needed to leave by 10:15. So I was ready to do that, leaving dh alone for the first time (he's sleeping right now). Then the person who was "supposed" to take him called and said she could take him after all. This person also cuts his hair and various other things. She is totally unreliable. Told her he had to leave here by the 10:15 and finally called her. "I'm just down the road". So he waited outside and waited and waited. Came in a few minutes ago and asked if I could be ready to take him in a few if she still wasn't here -she'd said she was on the next crossroad down from here. I could see him getting very agitated out there so I began to get ready and was just about to go out at 10:30 to take him when she pulled in. We always kid him when he goes to get a haircut that we'll see him "tonight". She's sometimes as much as 5 hours late.
Well, at least I'll be home when PT comes. This gal is a 'hoot' and we enjoy each other..
Dh is planning to go to the Tampa Bay Lightning Game vs the Buffalo Sabres tonight, while dd is at her 'fun job'. Believe me we both feel he's nowhere near ready to do this. Especially since there's several stairs involved. But I'm not saying anything. DD is willing to cope and get him seated. She did tell him he WILL use his walker and not a cane tonight however. "Oh, I can do the cane!" DD's response: "No, you can't -remember all the other people at these games. All it'll take is one 'jostle'". Goodness what will I do with a night alone after at 2 1/2 months? Maybe I'll try to get some sleep. Last night was a lost cause. I was up/down, up/down, up/down. Managed finally to get 4 hours. Arthritis was bothering me big time in my toe joints and back.

Re: Thursday PWYC
Dh went and did the banking! Then when he got home he used the snow blower and cleared the driveway even though it wasn't deep. He just wanted to actually use it once this winter.
I decided that I really want to have all the dishes done before we go out for supper. I'm tired of always having something either in the sink or on the counter or stove all the time. Believe me, this is the only problem with not having a cleaning lady. I always had all the dishes washed before she showed up.
A bit later...
All clean dishes are away. All dirty dishes are in the dishwasher. Casserole dish is soaking. Pasta pot is in hot, soapy water waiting for me.

Re: Thursday PWYC
~~~waving Hello to all~~~~
Thinking of the white, fluffy, beautiful snow covering some are receiving. Meanwhile, we have bright sunshine and 55F. However, our wind is still too strong for the fence contractor to work today.
I had a good start to my day and stayed up completing the hourly tasks without any problems.
Homeschool is in progress.
I am making 2 main dishes today. Grilled pork chops and chicken alfredo pasta casserole. These dishes don't go together but are being prepared because our leftover stash is empty. Hopefully, they will help replenish the ready-to-eat food available. Keeping pre-teen and teenager fed seems to be a never-ending task!
DS14 and I will be going out to eat tonight because he has counselor appt. It is an uncomplicated way to add one-on-one time together and experience unfamiliar places we haven't eaten before.
