Tuesday - the short end of February PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

It's the short end of February, get ready for March!

I hope you didn't miss the wisdom from LadyM's dd yesterday morning:

Conversation with DD11 on the way to school this morning...
DD11 - Are you sure today is my snack day? (as she was holding a big box of snacks)
Me - Absolutely sure. Here is the snack calendar your teacher sent out. (DD11 looking at photo of calendar on my phone)
DD11 - It is February 27th already?
Me - It is.
DD11 - February has gone by fast!
Me - It is the shortest month of the year.
DD11 - It is only short at the end of the month.
I don't know why her logic tickled my funny bone, but it had me giggling.

I've already had some excitement this a.m. when dMillie bolted the back yard and took off. I was calling her to come back in - had been out with her - and she looked at me and then took off. She only went across the street and I met her with the leash and brought her back in, but proves she still will run. Today she has a vet appointment, and to sweeten it, I'll stop off at a greenway to walk a little with her. Need her to know that not all car trips are exclusively to the vet. Other than that I have my workout at two.

Dh explained that he won't eat salad right now after the gas he had after a wedge salad at lunch a week and a half ago. I told him he could make a quesadilla with grilled chicken for his supper tonight.

Need to get moving.

Woke up with storage ideas and energy!!

It's been a very drippy day outside because the temperature is going up and snow is dropping from the roof of the house and the garage. I just heard a large plow go north on our street.

So far I have deep cleaned all 3 litter boxes, put all the regular garbage into a large green garbage bag, vacuumed and washed all the floors. I have the kitchen garbage can in the tub because I gave it a shower.

I have also washed one large pot and have the cat food plates soaking in the sink because they always get crusty.

I have a load of laundry going as well because dh is down to 1 pair of clean pants. I really need to go to Walmart and get him more pants. We discussed shorts the other day. He thinks he has enough. I like to go in the early spring when they have a larger selection.

Dh was out clearing the patio and the driveway before I was even out of bed. Now he is doing some work out in the garage.

No idea what is for supper tonight. I didn't make enough spaghetti for leftovers.

Later... (10 a.m.)
Just checked my Fitbit and I have the grand total of 849 steps and 4 zone minutes to show for all that vacuuming, mopping and loading the washing machine.

Morning…

Been to class, it was weight trading today, morning routines are done and watered my plants

Turns out some animal has been feasting on my outside sunnies as they pop up. Remember I planted them in barrels so the seedlings are two feet off the ground. Discovered 6 big debits 2 inches deep and 1-2 inches wide so I know it’s some type of animal really made me mad

Vacuumed and mopped most of the house yesterday. Still have my master bedroom and bath to do. As soon as I finish my coffee, I’m going to spend time at our farmers market before it gets too hot.

Forgot…colored my hair as well and like Nancy let it air dry. I use oil on it to control my frizzy s which I have plenty of.

Good morning!

My day is off to a good start. The tasks assigned to the first 3 hours have been completed and I'm making good progress on 4th hour tasks.

DD11 had a good start to her day. She was ready to leave before the "take DD11 to school" alarm went off. I said something about her thriving and striving, and then she took that phrase and made a sing-song chant from it. Kinda silly but in a clever way.

Cathy - I hear you about receiving low step count from being busy. IMHO, it isn't fair! >>>said while stomping my foot <<< I want to receive credit for those active times.

Today I'm going to have to be vigilant with hourly step goals. I will be spending multiple hours in the kitchen cooking which always results in low steps.

I planted Tendersweet carrot seeds outside this norming. There are Scarlet Nantes Carrot seeds germinating on the heat mat indoors. Carrots take a long time to germinate (3 weeks) so patience is needed.

Took a peek at one of the vids. LM.
Made some progress...
I have a rather busy morning with a meeting and sitting so step count will need to be compensated for afterwards.
Got the trash to curb. Bed is made. Had breakfast. Did qt some journaling.

Looking forward to spring in 20 days.
Waving to everyone today!

LadyM, too bad that pickup wasn't 4-wheel drive, it would have crawled right out of there. He couldn't have been too anxious if he could stop to take videos. Maybe this was before the storm hit.

We are waiting for the pump truck DH ordered to pump out our system. Supposed to be here today. DH is pacing, finding stuff to do, took off to get another switch. Came back...we're in a mess here. I have at least 3 LOL waiting.

Folded a load of clean laundry. PUPA everywhere around here. Usual dailies done. Filled soap dispensers. Just doing stuff like this while we wait.

He has me very nervous. This is no time to be in and out of the bathroom every 15 minutes. Gotta do what I have to do. I can't wait till the house is back to normal.

Stopping to put my feet up for a break while updating OneNote journal.

I browned 15 lbs of meat to make chili for tomorrow night. I used 10lb of meat last time for the chili and we ran out, so I increased the amount I'm making. It took me an hour & half to cook the meat and add all the chili ingredients. DS14 sat at the kitchen bar doing homeschooling while I cooked.

Homeschool is done and DS14 has left for work.

Coffee break!
After walking ddoggo.
Step count is great and past my norm for that part of my day yea!
Enjoyed the peace of home study was a bit hectic with office staff doing some other stuff a bit distracting for me.
Saw a ambulance ahead of me on the way home lites but no siren.
I had lunch then colored a bit to collect my thoughts.
After a busy day yesterday it was time for some thought collection LOL!

Good news my new journals could arrive early on Thurs. I am excited.
Colorful l sleeve tees will be her by Sat. hopefully I wear long sleeved ones all year so thinking they will work for Sunday & out of the house days.
Still waiting on my other butterfly hoodie hoping it arrives before spring in 20 days.

Picked up after the ddog in the backyard.
I swept the kitchen floors and dusted off the top of the fridge and under it and the stove and china hutch. Swept the kitchen & dining room.
