Another short night. Dgs slept until 6 but dh and I were up at 4:30 and neither of us slept much after that. Ds and TG left around 2 for the airport. That was 3 hours too early but that's how TG 'rolls' and ds knows better than to counter that! Their flight took off on time. In another 2.5 hours, they'll be disembarking in warm weather. We have snow and ice here, just a bit. The big storm is tomorrow, 8" of snow by the time it is over on Saturday.

Dgs is happy enough today. He's fallen in love with the wooden helocopter which dh had stepped on and broke a rotor a few weeks ago but repaired. Just now the rotors broke off in a different spot when it took a spill from the rocking chair to the carpet. Not playing roughly at all. This toy was bought from a garage sale when ds was little so is at least 40 years old. In this dry apartment, it is no wonder it broke. Dh will try a repair again. In the meantime, I've handed him the plastic Fisher Price one which is likely just as old and missing its pontoons - once broke off so we cut the other off too. Again, it was stepped on. My carpet hides everything!

Oops, I have to fix the wooden helicopter NOW!

Moments later:

My first design worked (thanks to my heavy duty kitchen scissors and the fact the recycle hasn't been taken out yet.) I cut up a PET plastic tray in the shape of the blades and punched a hole in the centre. It is flexible enough that it fit over the spindle and it spins nicely. I feel brilliant at this moment.

Also over stressed. Dh is spending as much time as possible doing things for/with us. He played on our bed with dgs while I set up the guest room with all of ds's clothing so it isn't all in one bag but sorted into my drawer clothing bins (my drawers are a mess now). I went to show dh where everything is and then realized he doesn't need to know, he isn't here to have to even fetch me things if I need them. I'm feeling better now that I have that done. I won't have a lot of extra brain bandwidth so being able to grab pant+shirt+socks, one from each bin, will be easier. AND all the PJs are in a separate box. One time, his parents came to get him after supper and said, "Oh, you have him all in his PJs, ready to put in bed when we get home." And I had to tell them he wore it all day, including out to the library, because I thought it was a cute fleece outfit, not jammies! (His mom sorted out the PJs last night for me.)

I woke up before the sun came up. Tried to get back to sleep, but I knew my alarm would be going off at 7, so my mind suddenly decided it would be a good time to review what I needed to get done today...

Composting, garbage and recycling is at the end of the driveway.

I finally emptied 5 cans of Bubly (clear, flavoured soda water) that dh wasn't going to drink. I added those cans to the recycling bags.

Switched over laundry from washer to dryer. All of that clean laundry is now away.

Emptied dishwasher and started to refill.

Emptied compost bucket and it's soaking.

Large pot is soaking in the other sink.

Bed is made. Floor is mopped in bedroom and living room and hallway.

I will be going to Costc o after knitting. I'm out of paper towels, water and iced tea.

Dh has 3 customers today plus his nail person is coming to do his toenails today. His schedule is
9 o'clock, 10 o'clock, "Around 12:30" and a tire repair sometime "this afternoon".

Unfortunately the septic is still not draining properly due to all the melting snow. We know that is the issue, so we aren't getting it drained at this time, although I would like to get it done this spring because it's been too long.

No idea what is for supper. I will pick up a chicken, but probably for tomorrow night.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Lost a post when I inadvertently closed the browser.

I overslept, in part because I was awake during the night when he had storms. We had a tornado watch which I dozed through, but the storm never got very close to us. And I was already feeling tired and lazy yesterday.

Today I have a workout at two. Tomorrow I'll go to the grocery.

I've added payment info for iCloud space to back up my phone and iPad. The card on file expired and I hadn't updated. It stopped backing up when dh was in the hospital and I'm just now circling back to it. Hated to do it on hospital public internet then. And I've backed up both now and just need to update iPad. What started me down this path was that my Fitbit app isn't working. When I open it, it immediately crashes. Last time I had an issue I spent a long time on the phone and it was on their end, so I'm giving it some time. I've restarted the phone, deleted and reinstalled the app, and updated the software.

We are to have rain most the day. I let ddog into the back yard w/o leash to do her business in the rain. I stood in the rain and watched, but did not follow her around. She peed, but not pooped so may need a little walk in the rain later.

I ate what was left from a chicken caesar wrap last night at a deli with dh for breakfast, and added an orange to it. I'll need a light lunch before I go workout too.

Morning…

Kathryn … don’t you love it when a plan comes together!

I’m back from class, routines done, laundry going and I need to make a list for what I need at the grocery store.

I’m excited as my best friend ..we went to hs together and I have decided to celebrate our birthdays together this year. She lives in Aiken,SC. To add to it my other best friend who grew up in the house next to me will be there visiting her sister, whom I am great friends with as well. My birthday is April 30 and my friends is May 9.

The house that my friends grew up in is the same one the Sweetie grew up in after the sisters moved up the street. One of the sisters was in Sweeties classes. I am really looking forward to this!

Sweetie goes for his first evaluation on Monday. After that is done we will begin to know what we are dealing with. More extensive testing will occur after this meeting. It is both exciting and scary. However the place we are going to has amazing classes and support groups for the care takers which I know I’m going to need. I am thankful for that.

Need to flip the laundry and then take a shower before I start the next load. I’ll buy a rotisserie chicken while I’m out, but first need to make a grocery list after I shower. That way my hair can air dry before I go.

K in C you made me laugh about the pj 's all day!
We got 10 flakes of snow they are gone now.

I am deciding on new pants, if I should take smaller ones back, a bit tighter for might work for walking, and will stay up.
The loose ones can be for sitting.
Need to look for the others again that do better and stretch.
Might need to try the other brand. . . still thinking. This is a journey.

I am pleased with my choice last night to stay home and do some tasks
zone and bwp one, instead of a party at the church with snacks.
I baked cookies bs is up today not much of a surprise.
Made dog food too.

This is my writing day.
One bill to pay.
I put away receipts last nite too.

Good Morning!

My day is off to a good start with the tasks completed that are assigned to the first 5 hours. I just can't seem to quit tweaking my schedule. I find myself wondering if I ever reach the point where the schedule is just right. I seem to be one of those people who embraces and enjoys the process of making small changes, then use them for a few days to see what works, tweak small improvement, use, tweak. repeat.

DH and I teamed up to do the 4 monthly financial tasks that need hands-on effort. All other financial tasks for the month are automated and just need to be monitored.

Homeschool is underway.
I am deciding on new pants,
Nancy - I am right there with you. My pants have started sliding down and I'm constantly pulling them up. DS14 told me yesterday "you need to wear a belt". These are the same pants and size that I have worn for years. One of the pair of pants are new so it isn't because they are old & worn out. I haven't' lost weight causing this to happen. I haven't measured my hips to see if I have lost inches, but the pants seem to say I have. I refuse to wear a belt and put up with the constant unbuckle/buckle multiple times a day when going to the bathroom. I detest clothing shopping, but I am going to have to find a style/size of pants that will stay where they should.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

DH and I are going to C ulver's shortly to grab a quick lunch. We have hair cuts at 2:30. He had a PT appointment this morning. He then reached out to our cardiologist's office up home but found out that both the cardiologist and his 'right hand gal" are both out of the office until Monday. Imagine that! What we know that is supposed to stay UNKNOWN is that this gal whom we absolutely love, is actually his wife. We only found that out maybe last fall or late summer. But are sworn to secrecy. He needs to talk to them about the "Watchman" procedure so he can stay off blood thinners. The cardiologist here says we won't be here long enough for all the pre-procedure appointments. So, we need to research getting the ball rolling up home. DH has a few more appointments with Cardiologist and Primary plus at least 2 more lab appointments before April 7th. If all goes well he can then head north (with DGS23 driving him up). He has actually been better the last 2 or 3 days than I've seen him in months. So hopefully we're on the right path. Cardiologist changed his Potassium amounts yesterday for the next couple of weeks, then lab to see if we're on the right track. Hopefully so.

I'll be thinking of you and Sweetie, RR. I have utmost respect for anyone being the caretaker of loved ones with Dementia or Alzheimers. If Dh's condition over the past few months hasn't taught me that then nothing will. I'm grateful for the 'learning' but am also grateful that we probably won't be staying in that vein.

Dh talked with his cohort (or as he says "trainee") at our summer residence this morning. Seems he has his 2nd W-2 from the parent company but we still don't. So will text the camp manager when we get back today. I know she's out of the office the tail end of this week, so there's no hurry -except I dearly want to get them done!

Have to get ready to go. Did a LOL today to completion, emptied the dishwasher & refilled it, Plus I've done a lot on the computer. Trying to clean up some files, etc. Helped dh remake our bed. Ta-da till later...............
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Dee…thankfully Sweetie and I constantly have open discussions over what is going on with him. He’s been kind of grumpy these last few days and I kind of suspected what was causing it. We talked about his disposition and he has been fussing over the taxes… which I suspected.

Yesterday Sweetie became very frustrated with our irrigation system as he can’t get the timer to work the way he wanted. When I asked him about it his reply was…. I used to design irrigation systems. I designed and make the parts to build the system. I installed irrigation systems for golf courses and now I can’t figure out how to make this damn thing run the way I want!

No matter he’s frustrated.
