a dog or a cat that is happy to see you or leaning against you just to be there to share their love with you.
sunlight beaming through nature! even if cold
a small bit of breeze whispering through the trees." Spring is coming". "Time to wake up"
all around you life is going on - plants are starting to stir even in places where snow covers the earth.
migratory birds are moving back to their spring and summer homes. (here the herons can be heard as they fly high in the sky as they move north).

there is always a second, a minute and if we are lucky, a day of special little moments like these that can be felt and taken into our soul.

Find the joy of the little parts of your life - they are there - even in the hard days.

I am taking a moment to enjoy some Irish tunes this morning.
Did some great reflecting on my day yesterday and the past quarter very helpful to remember my progress
in my journals this weekend.
More coffee.

It snowed a skiff...then melted.
Saw the neighbor fertilizing his yard wondering about that googled it nope not warm enough yet.
so that can wait.

Was chatting on the phone with my dsis got ready for church as I did and left
about 3 blocks from home realized I was an hour early!
So I went to the market on the way to the church for a few things and came back home.
Made up dog treats they are in the oven. aka tortilla shells cut up baking to be crunchy.
Don't tell ddog I did not do em from scratch.
Lovely day here have walked ddog.
After church.
Got some of the patio furniture out.
Swept carport some more moved trash cans.
Dson said to wait couple more weeks to put on fertilizer.
Spring count down 15 days till spring.

I, for one, am appreciating out modern conveniences such as electricity today! In fact, the TV might have been just a little too loud when I got up, but I lived with it until dh stepped away and I could turn it down discretely! He's gone to our dfriends to get meat we put in the freezer yesterday when we didn't know how long it will be. I'll start assessing everything else in a bit. I am really hoping to mostly stay home today - I think we have a birthday party this afternoon. I'm hoping I can make an appearance and not have to stay forever, but we'll see what dh is thinking.

I was out of the house from approx 10 yesterday until after dark; I was at library, then at river. When we got home ddog was freaked out my flashlight app of phone - I think it was too bright and I was trying to shine it on her in the back yard to keep up with her. I ended up taking her for a walk on the dark circle. Our sidewalks are light and there was some moon so it wasn't too bad, and I know she appreciated walking.

DOn't know what the day holds here, we'll see!

Bw2, thank you for the ever so cheerful opening! I'm glad you are hanging on to your optimism, I admire so much your spirit and your determination to get the right things done.

Starting last night at the supper table, suddenly I was shivering and dh suggested a blanket. Things went from bad to worse.I have been sick to my stomach so much that only bile is coming up. I haven't been able to keep anything down for 18 hours. I was clammy in bed and slept with only a thin sheet over me for most of the night.

Dh has gone to get me some ginger ale. I was in bed, sleeping before 6 p.m. last night. I finally just got up now. Because I feel so achy, I think it's the flu.

What needs focus:
dogs am/pm/evening walk dogs once-dd older is home so I can leave for a short bit.

dh has been bleeding out of his trac today - I figure he broke scar tissue again. he doesn't like using his humidifier machine as it is very loud. The hospital one was easy. blood thinners make it worse. he gets frustrated (of course) when this happens.

his feedings have gone very well.

2:00 pt and speech is a must for me to do with him. he doesn't like it. but I am ruthless on him doing the work

I want to figure out some fun stuff for him that doesn't tax him too much.
I have to admit the 24 hour a day car auction he has on - or car anything he has on is ... I don't know what ... but I think its after years of him hearing my videos and pod casts

Mystery, I misspoke when I said DGS10 was playing in Nashville with AAA Rochester team. Actually he's playing there with a team from Bradenton, FL. When they were visiting here DS-A knew the coach there and managed to get DGS a couple of practice sessions with them in Tampa. Guess they requested he play in this tournament with them. Not sure how that works since he hasn't played on their team through the year,

DD left about 9am to keep stats at the college tournament in town. Dsonil said she expected to be home about 4:30 today. But it almost seems (if I'm right) that she has to go back later for more games.

I wasn't sure about church this morning so let myself sleep in. As it was dh felt better early but then in a little while he felt crummy again. So just as well we didn't go and I also have had a headache that was a big one. Not sure I could have gone anyway.

Been working on my "lis ts" this morning and trying to get some things done. I'm hoping to get some work done in their garage. It is a total wreck! Maybe next week and especially if dh is feeling better we can get some things done out there. Spring break is the next week after this. DD and Dsonil are going to Brunswick, GA for a 3-4 getaway so we'll be on our own.

Dh said if he feels better later he'd like to go check his DB's house. So may go over there this afternoon. I noticed last week that there's many adult diapers in one closet. So, going to call the gal who was handling things there and see if she has plans for those. Otherwise we'll take them to the gal who does "Senior Orphans" in Lakeland. Dh and DBil did a lot of work with/for her. No sense in them just sitting there getting old and brittle. Also want to be sure the AC is working.

Breathing is the focus here.

Dgs woke at midnight screaming in frustration because he could breathe lying down. Also deep coughing.

He stopped crying and coughing when upright so dh spent 5 hours with him in the recliner. I came in at 5 and took over.

He woke up fully around 6:30 and was fairly cheery but quiet. Then I put on some TV for him and he lay down, got up and came over to me to be picked up and cuddled back to sleep. He slept that way for an hour.

I've steamed him in the bathroom since the humidifier going full blast in the living room is only up to 23% RH after 5 hours of running.

He was miserable when he woke up from napping in my arms so we finally broke down and gave him advil (he's not feverish.) He's a happy camper now, transformed in 15 minutes. Getting the meds into him on my own is going to be the challenge once dh is not there to help me. Swaddling fully, including the head, will be my only shot at it.

Oh, good luck with that, Kathryn. I can remember when our really good friends (he was our Pastor at the time and she became a 'sister' to me) when she'd call and ask if I could come down to the parsonage to help her get meds down their oldest son. It definitely took 2 of us.

Dsonil just offered to take dh over to his DB's to check out the house. We really need to go over a little more frequently, but it's been difficult with dh's things happening.

I have probably an hour to an hour & a half to myself. Oh boy!

Just finished going over dh's statements in his health insurance. According to that list (and I listed them all) we still owe a little over $7,000 to hospitals, ambulance, etc. We've set it up to pay the minimum to each (other than the ambulance) so some of it is paid. But we owe 4 different hospitals. So it amounts to a pretty hefty amount each month.

Twins - glad your electricity was returned. Hopefully you won't lose too much cold food.

I kept the nursery this morning for the early service. There were only 2 one-year olds so it was super simple. Wednesday night we had a six-month-old baby, a 7-month-old baby (requires special care because she is heart baby that had 2 open heart surgeries) , 2 one-year olds, and twin two year olds. That was a challenge keeping up with them, but it went smoothly. I absolutely love taking care of and playing with the little ones.

DD11 requested fruit salad so I made it for lunch. It has been years since I've made it so I should have looked at a recipe. The mixer made whipped cream (heavy cream, sugar, vanilla) while I cleaned & chopped the fruit. Strawberries, green grapes, apples, oranges, and banana. I put a handful of pecans on top. It looks colorful and tastes good. It is a backward way of cooking but now I'll look at a recipe and for ideas of how others make fruit salad.

Garden chatter - I thought I had all the protection in place for newly transplanted broccoli seedlings. Nope. I forgot one of the basic rules and the cut worm reminded me of it by destroying one of the seedlings. The rest of the seedlings now have little sticks stuck into the ground surrounding the stem building a wooden fence in hopes future cutworm will grow frustrated and find something easier to wrap itself around.
