Fifteen minutes after the meds were in, dgs was his happy self.
AND he asked to go down for a nap, so is down now. And I will be in a minute!

Good going, Kathryn! Hopefully he'll be able to have a good nap, and you as well!
I've been puttering about getting things out of the freezer and refrigerator. Probably leaving some things that are marginal but we'll check it out before we use anything. Did laundry - I had a load in the dryer when the power went out so I rewashed and dried and did another load. Those are folded and mostly put away. I did another load of things to hang up and they're done too.
It's a gorgeous day here.

An hour into the nap dgs woke up coughing and whimpering. I got up and brought him onto my bed and he slept on my chest for 2 more hours!
Dh went for the walk to the store without us. Goodness know when bedtime will be.
We now have medicine syringes so that part of my job will be easier if he continues to need meds.

(((Kathryn)))) I hope you are able to get a good night's sleep.
I still keep medicine syringes on hand even though we don't have little ones anymore. It is one of those unused things that I am not comfortable getting rid of.
Last night at the concert DS14 had an accident resulting in his right arm hurting above the wrist area. His arm is a bit swollen and painful to use. DGS14 didn't tell me about it until this afternoon. He tried to ignore it for almost 24 hours, saying what he typically says when he gets hurt.... "Rub some dirt on it and it will be alright". I think we need to get an xray of his arm/wrist to make sure it is okay. I wish there were some way to get an xray without going to ER. I am going to call our family doctor in the morning and ask if there is an alternative.

Re: breathe in the moment - see the specialness of the minute Sunday.
I'm glad everybody has electric service. cathy I hope you are feeling better.
Church today was something else. We only have 2 services. They are supposed to begin having 3 services, but have not scheduled when to begin that. It really needs to start. The first service was so full there were NO seats left. I went to the 2nd one and all those people leaving and another batch moving in was a challenge. The parking lot is difficult too. There is just 15 minutes between the end of the 1st service and the beginning of the 2nd. Typically our pastor runs over a bit so there is always less than 15 minutes. So nothing is easy on a Sunday morning. I don't find it very welcoming to have such a struggle to attend.
On the way home I attempted to drop off a return to the fed-ex place. Wrong label they said. So when I came home I called the company again and got an email and attempted to print that one out...and nowhere on it did it say fed-ex. Ok. It also said usps which is the post office. She still kept saying it was fed ex but there was nothing that said that anywhere. So I fixed up the box and went back to the pickup spot, where they told me the return service on the label meant it was fed ex. Oh good, why didn't the lady at the company tell me that? And the usps on the label means that fed ex takes it to the city and drops it off at the post office, where they deliver to the house. Why didn't she tell me that, either? Have I said how much I hate ordering online and for sure returning something that has been bought that way. The company pulled something totally different from what DH ordered.
I watered the flower garden with the new plants and seeds, and I watered all the grass in the front yard. Everything is so dry here.
Nice opening, blessed. Take care of yourself.

Re: breathe in the moment - see the specialness of the minute Sunday.
Day is done.
It wasn't my best day ever.
Dh did the shopping and the medicine syringe didn't work as well as the shot glass. He threw it up the first time immediately. We gave it to him again and he threw up a second time after a few minutes. Both dh and I had to change and dgs needed to be rinsed off in the bathtub and my bathroom doesn't have extra towels and there was yelling and it wasn't my best day ever.
Dgs didn't eat any dinner except for one saltine cracker.
He had milk after.
He saw his parents on their call to dh. No real reaction except a small smile behind the soother. We put him to bed at 9.
I've done as much as I can to help out future me tomorrow morning. (and dd as well.)
Off to bed. We'll see what the night holds. I've cleared off the spare bed except for the diapers and change pad, so I can crawl in it with dgs instead of using the recliners. It has lots of pillows and is against a wall on 2 sides so he is unlikely to escape even if I fall deep asleep.
Just looked up on the top of my desk and spotted the missing toothbrush. That's a mystery solved.

Re: breathe in the moment - see the specialness of the minute Sunday.
Got some breaths of fresh air when I was outside doing a bit of spring prep.
Got more lawn furniture out deck chairs out and patio furniture out, yea.
Moved the trash cans over.
Did the dishes after dinner and scrubbed the fridge door handles that was an overdue task!
More chairs to get out tomorrow it got dark.
New gal at church likes to argue said some thing about last year of time change I googled it and
they will not decide on it till after Nov. this yr. they tried it before and was too dark for the kids getting on the bus and going to school walking in the dark was unsafe. I highly doubt that will get finalized.
