Waiting room Monday PWYC
We'll be (in our minds) hanging out in the waiting room waiting for news of Ken and Kathryn, and by extension, that cute little dgs. I'm putting out some goodies for us to munch on as we wait: hot coffee, tea, and cocoa, some sweet pastries that otherwise we wouldn't let ourselves eat, and fresh fruit.
Waiting for good news, and keeping busy as we wait!

Re: Waiting room Monday PWYC
I don't know what I'm going to do next week when the time changes. I'm already getting up at eight, after the clock goes off for an hour. I suspect it's going to be a hard transition.
I had a decent time at the party yesterday - did not know hardly anyone aside for hosts, their parents and another couple, but it was a good time. They are so gracious and welcoming and we stayed 2.5 hours.
Dh had a dr appt this a.m. and they were to draw blood to ck A1c and other markers.

Re: Waiting room Monday PWYC
praying everyone feels better in the Kathryn/ken family!
Thank you for the lovely goodies!
time change? lol I didn't even now that was happening this week! Thank you for the reminder!
Glad you enjoyed yourself at the gathering! How nice!
praying for a very good blood test for your dh!
Hello everyone.
I need to focus on something that is blocking my clean spaces.
my garden magazines etc. are all over the top of the counter and kitchen table. That needs to go. Now that dd younger is back in Florida, I plan to take o over her desk etc. for my library/sewing room/music room. (in a minimal way
)
dh promised me he would do physical therapy at 10:30 am. I know he will try to get away from it and me - but I am dogged persistent

Slipping in to a chair in the waiting room. Thanks Twins, for setting it up for us. Praying & thinking healing thoughts for Ken in Canada, & comfort for Kathryn as she waits.
After cuop from yesterday, also hoping that Kathryn's dgs feels completely better today, & Cathy & Mr Dee, too. Also hoping for a good report from Lady M about ds14 arm.
Blessed, I really liked your beautiful opening post on Sunday. Read it twice. Hope your dh cooperates with you on doing his physical therapy today. You had mentioned he doesn't use his humidifier because he dislikes the noise. Maybe noise canceling headphones would make him more willing to use it?
Had a very scattered week so am having a do over today. Sheets are in the washer, towels are in the dryer, kitchen is cleaned up. I tried a new recipe the other night & we were both looking forward to it & were both disappointed at how bland it was. Oh well. Leftover Chicken Parm for dinner tonight. I'll need to cook up some more linguine to go with it. Will also thaw out some bread. I like to add butter, cheese & spices to it & broil it to make it crunchy.
But first, I have almost 200 emails to go through -- aaaack! And many more in my old & sent folders that I need to delete. Hope everyone has a good day.

Re: Waiting room Monday PWYC
~~ waving Hello to all~~~
Twins - Thank you for setting up the virtual waiting room. (((Kathryn & Ken)))
The tasks assigned to the first 4 hours of my day have been completed. I am staying on track with steps to hopefully reach my daily goal of exceeding 8.5k. That step goal feels huge to me but I'm taking it one day at a time.
As I was planning this week, I realized that we have 7 days of school on the calendar for this week. DS14 is taking a 3 day course at vo-tech Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That course requires him to pass a state test before the class starts. He needs to study and practice for that test, so I have decided to cancel all other class assignments this week. DD11 and DGS14 both have a school field trip on the calendar this week. Next week is Spring Break so we have a two week break from normal homeschool classes. This is a HUGE reduction in my weekday workload. I am feeling a bit giddy with having such a lengthy break. We will resume normal homeschool classes on March 20th.
The fence contractor has returned from his vacation and is working today. It is NOISY. He has two motors running non-stop right next to our house. The motor running the welder and the diesel motor running the generator. Reminding myself.....Let the frustration and angst go. This noise is short term. This fence project will eventually be finished.
DS14 is saying his arm doesn't need to be xray. He insists it is fine.

Re: Waiting room Monday PWYC
Yes, waiting for news indeed.
Not much news around here. Really need to get working on my paid work. Priority for this week is to get the text edited to the point that the artist knows what he needs to do, so he can get to work on those while I finish the editing. I need to check with Dfriend as to how much the artist needs from me. Do I need to specify up front which illustrations we’re keeping from the previous edition, or do I just need to give the artist info on anything we’d like to add? Do I have to have all the captions written by the end of the week, or can those be done after the art? Etc.
I hope everyone’s news is good!

Re: Waiting room Monday PWYC
Thinking of you and PT for your dh, Blessed. Trying to get mine to do his as well. At least he's at the point that he knows he needs it and his day to day activities are not enough.
Think I'll grab one of those 'sweet' pastries, Twins, while we wait to hear "good" news from Kathryn
Actually I already have a lot on my plate today as well.
Did not go to church yesterday as Dh was feeling badly by Saturday afternoon. So yesterday morning seemed good and then he went downhill and felt really bad all afternoon. The Dr's have him taking Metoprolol after he takes his BP in the morning. Only supposed to give it if his systolic is over 100-105. So got to thinking about that and how he's feeling. Took his BP last evening and it was 97/59. So! Today we're not giving that for now and see how he is this afternoon. Then I will call the APRN at the Heart Failure clinic to talk it over with her. Do have to soon give him his eplerenone (can't take for at least 30 minutes after any lasix.)
Meantime today has been an absolute whirlwind! Dh talked to his Dr's office (cardiologist up home) this morning and explained about all the internal bleeding, transfusions etc, and how they'd taken him off blood thinners. Main reason for calling was for them to start the ball rolling on getting the Watchman procedure done up there. As it turned out they had him down for an appointment April 4th at 8:30am. I have a card from them that says April 14th btw. But they are concerned and I'm pretty sure the ball is rolling. Now the conundrum. He is supposed to have labs here April 3, Appointment with the cardiologist April 5th and appointment with his Primary April 7th. So have to figure out what to do with all those things. He is having blood work done March 15th so hopefully that will tell us something about his hemoglobin and potassium. (Dr has him on extra potassium every morning to see what that does).
Then I have to get records from his Capsule Endoscopy (done February 14th) sent to both his Primary and the cardiologist. His appointment with that Dr (endoscopy) was supposed to be tomorrow but has been cancelled.
Meantime on the ranch DS-A called to tell me a man is coming to look at his RV for detailing. When the locksmith was here trying to get it opened he managed to scratch it all up so think they're paying for it. Dh and I planned to go to C ulver's for their Cod platter so will have to wait for that.
And after all that, I heard dh calling me and went to see where he was: Unfortunately he was on the floor outside on the porch. He'd missed the step and fell. The tray table that was there is no more and the glider was half off the porch. While I was trying to decide what to do as I couldn't lift him, he said something about dsonil being in the bathroom -I thought he was gone. So I banged on their bedroom door and he came out. At first he wanted me to call the ambulance but dh insisted he wasn't hurt -except he has a horrible gash just below his elbow on his left arm. Mainly it's just skinned fairly deeply but not enough for stitches. Dsonil got him up and resting and we bandaged him up. He's resting now.
So it's been a morning here for sure! I've asked dd to sit down with me when she feels like it and see if we can figure out the future and what to do when.

Re: Waiting room Monday PWYC
What Dove said. (so well)
Grateful for a waiting room.
Also, arm healing wishes for Mr. DeeClutter and LadyM's ds.
The other day (?) I fizzled before I could come here and say I had just posted a 2023 version of Lynlee's Outdoor Spaces thread. She has done that for us for 3 years and been one of the most prolific posters there. It's one of the many reasons I miss her.
Very little sleep last night. But I did nap the afternoon before. After appt today I predict crashing. My stickers in my planner are a loving cup and blue ribbon today, a "100 percent" tomorrow. Also on Thursday, a sunshine, because at 12:30 I'm going outside in shorts and getting 15 minutes of sun with Vitamin D for first chance this year in our county. (big blousy shirt cover-up though, don't worry)
I have a small laundry load in now and it's just drip dry, so not so much to do. I made breakfast. I took a shower without washing hair, as I am dividing that into two chores lately.
Broccoli sprouts have been photosynthesizing in the window since dawn, so I'll process them (rinse away hulls and dry for fridge container) in early afternoon.
HRH will probably make spaghetti sauce this afternoon.
A project here soon will be gutter cover thingies installed by dstepson and probably one or more of his nephews.
Also he and HRH are going to make me a design wall for the sewing room, but that can wait a while. I've given up on HRH's worry over the walls, picking my battles, and we'll just have an old-fashioned leaning one covered in flannel.
