I bit the bullet and went to the grocery store. Now we are stocked up with a lot of food and drinks for the next few days. The snow is coming from the east and the flags on various flag poles that I passed looked like they wanted to take off into the sky.

Happy Bday LordM.

I woke up around 6:30 or 6:40.
Then the ddog wanted to sit on my lap it is cute when she brings me her piece of a leash to ask
for permission she came up with that on her own. I put the blanket on my lap patted myself and then
she leaps up for some attention for a bit.

We did not get snow today I was excited to hear rain on the roof this morning!
I have been foggy for a while now it has moved on.

I mixed up bread dough then realized I forgot the sugar so put portions in the freezer for individual pizzas.
Then I made up some more and it is raising now.
2nd batch is done did not raise properly but tastes fine I had the heels.

hello again!

Happy birthday Mr. M!

dd older has the Roomba type things vacuuming and then rinsing the floors.
she cleaned the family room as I let 'EVERYTHING" go this week - I don't know why I shut down. Does not make sense. Today I woke up with purpose.

Time to make dinner
I also need to exercise.

dd older received a 2000 piece puzzle and gave it to me. I can't use it bc it's 42" x 36" and is way too big for my kitchen table.

I think I got dh to understand; at least I hope so!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Beautiful, Dee! And Happy Birthday to Lord M!

I need to get myself busy. I got home and went down a rabbit hole. I'm going to allow it until 3 p.m. and then need to do some clean up. Need to finish making up bed and at a minimum do the kitchen floor. So I'm setting a timer.

I'm also distracted. The dog wants to be outside. She's made it abundantly clear to me, to the point on being a pest.

Thank you for DH birthday wishes. He is 70 years old today.

I am reconsidering my plans for this weekend. I thought I would enroll DS14 in the class and then return home for a few hours and then return to get him. That would mean 6 hours of driving. The more I thought about it the less I liked that option #1. For option #2, I considered getting a hotel room and staying in the city for the next couple of nights but i really REALLY prefer to sleep in my bed. Also, I would not choose to stay inside a hotel room during the day so I would need to have somewhere to spend my daylight hours. So, that leads me to option #3. I will make one trip a day to the city and stay while DS14 is in class, then return home each evening. I can walk the big stores to get some steps and hang out in coffee shops when I get tired of that. We will need to leave home before 6am so they will be long days but I like knowing I will be home each night.

Unplanned birthday gift to DH. He will have many hours all alone this weekend with zero childcare. DD11 is staying with DD46 this weekend. DH craves solitude and calmness like I do so this time alone will be a treat for him. Although, I just realized....DH really won't have much time alone. He is cooking for the men's breakfast Saturday morning so that will take several hours. DH is teaching 2 classes and doing communion message on Sunday morning. DD46 is cooking DH a birthday meal on Sunday afternoon. Ohs well...I guess DH isn't getting as much time alone this weekend as I thought.

Once I realized I will be gone for most of the weekend daylight hours I went into food prep mode. I prefer to eat my own food and not eat out unless I have to. DS14 prefers to eat out so I will be buying his food at drive throughs & restaurants this weekend. I have been doing a little cooking this morning to get ahead. I also picked up some food from our local BBQ place. The combination of that results in = 10 meals of BBQ pulled pork packaged. 8 portions of pinto beans individually packaged. Two fat chief sandwiches ready to be eaten. A pound of sliced brisket. Two roasted chicken breasts are ready to eat. 4 hamburger patties with cheese are cooked and ready to eat. I took a break to eat lunch, but will cook one more dish (egg roll in a bowl) and package it into individual portions. While that is cooking, I will chop green salad ingredients and package them individually.

(((HUGS))) all around for these men in our lives and the women who are trying desperately to support and care for them!

Mine is doing "okay," he might say, "if you don't care what you say." ;)
Last night he had a rough time, just severe pain. He said, "You tell people your arthritis is bothering you and they all nod and agree and they think, everybody has that... but not everybody has this kind of severe pain." I mean, sometimes he hurts so bad that he is in tears, and he even says at times like that, that he just doesn't know how long he can live with that kind of pain -- and that he wouldn't want to live if it weren't for me, ds, and the dgrands. I just try to keep him encouraged that it will pass and he will have a good day soon.
It would be a lot better if he could take certain anti-inflammatory medicines, but because of his heart/blood thinners/etc, he cannot take Motrin or Aleve, or certain rx meds. So Tramadol is about the limit for pain relief, and he says it helps, but that Aleve is actually better.

But he's better today -- went and got his labwork done without me! BIG HOORAY for THAT! (I usually just wait in the car, but it was nice to stay home this morning.)
Then I had time to color my hair, which I'd been putting off all week. Glad to have that done.

Otherwise, I'm not having a high energy day at all. DGD has a practice game this evening at 4:00, I think, and we are planning to go to that. Then she will come home with us. We'll swap her with the other grandparents tomorrow and bring dgs here. Then Sunday -- I am taking dgd to a bday party in Next Town, at a trampoline park. NOT looking forward to this especially, but ddil will need to sleep, and ds will have driven home from MS late Saturday night. He said he would take dgs to Confirmation Class and Acolyte training at church if I would do the party. (It's for the little boy who gave dgd flowers at Valentine's Day! I taught his parents in school, and graduated with his grandfather, so at least I will know some people there.)

Acolyte training is very redundant, IMHO, for dgs. He had already served as an acolyte before Covid and the change in preachers. The new pastor wants to make it more "official" I guess. The only dread I have about this is that dgs will be sitting up there on the front row after he lights the candles, and he'll probably fall asleep. The preacher will have to wake him up to carry the light out! Sigh.
More church stuff in MO.

Congrats to LadyM's ds! AND Happy Birthday to LordM!

Had a delightful Friday afternoon nap. When I woke up, dh was sleeping beside me.

Now we are both up and I am making chicken noodle soup for supper.

I finally got the bed made back up and the floors swept of dog hair and tracked in debris. I'm realizing how much she is shedding - not like some of our dogs but it does add up. The dog has been wanting either me or the french bulldog next door to play with her and she's been a pain. I can leave her out by herself now, tho, so it helps, but it's been in and out and in and out, and it's too cool to leave the door open for her.
