The first day of spring is March 20, but the spring equinox will be here only for a brief time. At 5:24 p.m. Eastern time, the sun will be perfectly in line with the equator, resulting in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres receiving equal amounts of sunlight throughout the day. After the vernal equinox has passed, days will start to become shorter for the Southern Hemisphere and longer up north.

Good Morning!

I am back to school schedule this morning. There is very little time for sidetracking and/or lollygagging in the first 2 hours of the day. I take my first break of the day at 8am.

Today is two appointments in the city. Ugh. DH will go with me for my 11th infusion therapy appt at noon. We will turn it into a mini date and eat lunch while we are there. We will get back in time to pick up DD11 from school. Then 2 hours later I will return to the city for DS14 appt with counselor. It will be after 8:30pm before I get home from that. I will need to decompress before I can go to sleep.

I finished cleaning my home yesterday. By the time I finished my back was screaming at me. Made and ate dinner and then headed to my heating pad on my bed.

I dreaded getting up and going to class this morning because I was afraid my back would t want to go. Woke up and it was fine. Headed for class and had a great work out and my back is still feeling ok.

We’ll see how it feels at the end of today. We need to remove all the Lania furniture, plants and rugs so the people who are repairing it can work their magic. There are three heavy pots… one with my sunnies… that need to be moved, but I told Sweetie we’ll let the guys move them because they are much younger than us

Fred needs to have his home cleaned and I have some computer stuff to do as we wait for it to warm up this afternoon. This mornings temps were burr shiver 54* which I must admit I found delightful. I also need to do a short grocery run.

It always makes me smile when one part of the world considers 50F/10C to be cold and another part of the world considers those temperatures to be warm. My personal favorite temps are between 40F and 100F. It is the wind more than the temps that affect my enjoyment factor.

I cooked 4x box mac & cheese with extra cheese added for the kids to have. Life is so much easier when I ensure there are a variety of leftovers available for them to eat.

Homeschool is in progress. Only 2 more subjects to do.

The fence contractor is here working. I have high hopes today will finalize this project and I can have my garden to myself.

DH and I will leave in less than an hour.

I was up in the night went back to bed. Up at 7:50 Rx alarm went off.
Fighting a bit of a bug this morning.
Oven is heating up for cookie dough I mixed up yesterday.
Planning done / may have changed it to not doing that today lol! [Inside stuff b/c of the rain.]

Hello. I do not understand the sun thing with Spring. I feel like our days get longer and longer (sunlight) during the spring and they're pretty long during the summer. We're already having more sunlight in the early evening due to the time change I guess. I notice it right away because DH goes to bed so early and wanders around the house closing all the blinds and then I get to sit in a dark "cave" with lights on. I've been telling him I'll close the blinds.

Oh, ok I just looked at our wall map at the equator. We're in the northern hemisphere (living where we do I tend to think southern all the time, nope not for this). So, that is why our days continue to get longer. Science was never my greatest subject!

And today I do NOT get a gold star for anything. So I took out all that I was going to say and I'll put it in the MO thread.

DH is out working right now and has called me about problems, wanting information. I knew stuff like this was going to happen today. At least I just had to read info off a receipt and not drive all the way out there. I've been holding my breath that doesn't happen.

I have my study caught up to date. Next up: clean bathrooms.

The Earth is constantly revolving around it’s self…24 hours and at the same time moving around the Sun for 366 days

The Earth is a sphere that is divided in the middle, which is called the equator. The top part is called the Northern Hemisphere. We live there. The bottom part is called the Southern Hemisphere. Lynlee lives there.

In the spring and summer the northern hemisphere tilts on its axis so it faces closer to the Sun, so as we circle it we get hot.

In the Fall and Winter the Northern Hemisphere tilts away from the sun so we get cold.

Today the Earth doesn’t tilt either way for just a short time, so the sun shines on both the North and the Southern Hemisphere equally at the same time.

If I was in class I would let you hold a flash light and be the sun. Then I would take a ball, divide it in two and circle around you like I was the Earth. Bet you’d get that like most of my kids

Here something my kids always loved … although we think of ourself as standing straight up, in fact we are really standing sideways to the Earth spinning approximately 23k miles a day. Think of it this was… take an Orange and pretend it’s the Earth, then take a pencil and stick it right into the Orange. This is us

My favorite thing to tell the kids was that by the time the class’s hour was over, they had travelled nearly a thousand miles while sittling at their desks. Ain’t science grand

Sending good vibes for your infusion to go well today. Just how far is the "city" from you?

Never got to fix breakfast until 10:30. Dsonil had a home health visit between 9 and 10. However the guy was here before 9 and I was just beginning to make oatmeal so of course I had to vacate the kitchen till he left. So it was near 11 by the time we ate breakfast. I had a really good night until 2am After that notta. Find myself all too grouchy when I'm not getting enough sleep. I figured out yesterday that I'd had about 30 hours in 8 days. I'm not that grouchy person and trying so hard not to be.

Finally got dh's airline reservation made late yesterday. He leaves here April 1st and sees the cardiologist up home on the 4th. So hoping they can proceed with the Watchman procedure. Our niece is a cardiac nurse and had never heard of it so she learned something new last week. (She's in CA).

It's 59 here and yes, that seems cold. Up home it would be almost balmy.

DS-A and family are due here around the end of March and I'm not sure just when they're leaving. They're flying in to pick up their motorhome that they purchased in December. I will be all too glad to see it gone from outside our bedroom windows. We have no view at all, except looking at the side of the MH. And dsonil will be very glad to have it out of the yard.

I have a call in to the cardiologist's office here to ask about lab results from last Wednesday. They'd instructed dh to take 2 potassium every morning plus the one he usually takes at night. I saw from the labs that his count was still only 3.3 -not high enough considering taking extra. The potassium gets depleted because of all the lasix he has to take. It's a real balancing act and we're not doing too well on that front. He did say he finally had a decent night's sleep last night.

I need to cancel the appointments with the cardiologist and Primary here (April 5 and 7). Dh has an appointment with the cardiologist up home on the 4th so can't make the 2 down here. He was to have a tele call appointment with the gastroenterologist up there this afternoon but we cancelled that. He's seen so many here in the last month or so -had 3 Endoscopies, 1 Capsule Endoscopy and 1 Colonoscopy. Besides he's not happy at all with the one up home. When he was bleeding internally and they wanted to do procedures, but unable to until he did an endoscopy up there he scheduled one for February 3rd! Between dh and his primary they finally got one on September 9th. Here the big issue has continued to be the internal bleeding and they were constantly trying to find the source. They did at long last take him off Eliquis (blood thinner) and the bleeding stopped. Fancy that! Unfortunately dh still is not feeling very well most of the time. He has moments and once in a while a morning here and there. He will be staying at DS-A's for a while up there. Our DGS23 and DStepGD will be staying with him until DS/family get back up there. Hope DGS is ready to take him to appointments. He'd like to think he could drive but we all can see he's not ready to do that and I'll be one very unhappy camper if he decides to try it -that is unless he improves a whole lot fast.

I've managed to make the bed -fold a bunch of blankets, put away dishes from the dishwasher and put all the dirty ones in it. Plus made oatmeal. Wrote out a bunch of questions for the cardiologist if/when she calls. Tomorrow I'll tackle his Primary Dr. Last night I went through the big pile of paper work we have for all dh's medical since down here and got it all filed appropriately (I hope). It was pretty much done but I had to do some tweaking. Only took me about 1/2 hour once I really got started on it. Have the file sitting here for cardiology and hoping she'll call soon.

March 20th is also our DIndiana's birthday. Know she's been gone for a number of years at this point but remember how much she did here on this board!

I have gotten dressed and put fertilizer on the property rain helped I did not have to water with the hose!
I have bread raising added a bit of corn meal to this batch.
Dishes are done and put away from cooking adventures.
Bed is made.
Made pizza yesterday and did not film drat! Oh well. I had stuff on my mind.

Hi!

Went to knitting this morning. It's a gorgeous sunny day here. I just walked to the mailbox in a hoodie and pants. It's 8 Celcius here. Just under 50 F south of the border. Most of the snow is melted.

Dh and I are going out for supper at an Asian fusion place. You order on a tablet at your table and "small plates" are either brought by wait staff or delivered to your table on an automated "server" that looks like a "rosie the robot" but the graphics on the screen looks like the face of a smiling cat. I think the robotic server is only used if they are really busy.

I didn't post last night, but dishwasher did a load of dishes after supper and there was a load going in the dryer when I went to bed. This morning I emptied the dishwasher and the draining rack. This afternoon I did a bunch of knifes and wooden spoons. I hope to do the 2 frying pans before we go out for supper.
