I think my favourite line from yesterday's posts also came from Lucylee:
At least he's bald now.
Thankfully, I read that between sips of tea so didn't spurt it out over my keyboard!
Sorry to read about your dryer. I only have to dry two loads a week in mine (sheets and towels, everything else is hung on a rack in the bedroom) but when dgs was here I used it without thought and boy, not having it at that time, despite how fast things dry in this Sahara-like apartment, would be a big deal. We were both really sick and it felt like keeping up with laundry was the only thing I could manage well, all thanks to that dryer.
I'm not really awake. I'm zombie posting today.
My illness (likely a cold but now I'm keeping an eye on it) circled around and hit hard again yesterday. I had backed off on the anti-histamines and decongestants and mega doses of vitamin C and it hit me hard yesterday. Yesterday was also 2 days after the birthday party and I was quite physical that day which could lead to sore muscles. Plus I know the TG now has Covid so my psychosomatic power may have pulled me down (I tested negative last night.) But I ached and coughed and felt miserable last night.
I did the Covid test and during the 15 minute wait got the kitchen cleaned up from dinner and the dishwasher started. I then had tea and refilled my vitamin dispensers and then decorated my planner a bit more (I had done the basics in the car but all my stickers, tape, and stencils are in a separate box so I couldn't finish the task.)
I was in bed by 9:30, and then saw every hour on the clock. I had forgotten to take my melatonin so didn't fall back asleep easily when stirred. I think I'll sleep in the spare room tonight. When dh was in the hospital, even with dgs sick, I was getting stretches of 6+ hours a lot of the time. Since dh came home, 3 hours was the longest I've gone. If he puts the head of the bed fully up, he can get out of bed by himself (I had to help him at 3 because he was trying to avoid using it so he wouldn't bother me but I woke up and asked if he needed help.)
He said he had a good night but he was awake almost every time I was awake.
I've taken decongestant and have finished my tea and chocolate. I've done his stretches with him but am not dressed because it is my shower day (and not his) so I'm in my fluffy gown. He asked me to check and I don't have a fever. The bed is made.
My activity today is to go pick up dd and dgs and take him to his therapy (to make adaptations in his routine to help strengthen his body or manage what others his age manage.) I need to hit up a pharmacy and find numbing cream for his blood draw (not today but soon.) Today is in theory his last time because his therapist is moving on and dd doesn't want to work with anyone else until August. I certainly don't agree with this but then, I don't agree with 90% of how she is caring for dgs physically. The blood draw is because he's so skinny and looks anemic.
Anyway, this is far too important to let the cough and exhaustion excuse me from today's responsibilities so I will head out just before noon.
That means I should get going. My cunning plan is to have a nap around 10 for at least an hour. Before then I need to shower, dress, walk with dh, and hopefully get some chores done. Dusting is probably the most important since I don't need dust allergies compounding this cough. Likewise, I'm tossing the flowers (carnations), even though they still look good, cuz they are now 20 days old. Pollen and mould are more of my allergies.
