Hello everyone

I visited my colorist today and also happened to have on mostly black. When dd24 brought some things in she said I looked so nice. That was something I haven't heard much in a while. lol

Dd24 needed a talk, mostly her talking. Her new job is intense, which has a lot of good points and a few bad ones. She feels she needs strategies to deal with it. The boss does not allow music/radio and she says the atmosphere, then, is awkward as though each one is afraid to be the one to allow a paper clip to drop. Phone conversations seem intrusive into the otherwise silent space. Boss is not a difficult person, though, just believes that aroma is the answer to all things, so the floor they are on does smell wonderful, for what that's worth. She says the designers on the floor above them, when she happens to travel through there, are so happy and great friends, so she is jealous because of her own floor's seriousness. She's going to try earbuds, but that won't affect any personal relating.

It made me think of the Ma and Pa Kettle movie in which they go to Hawaii and Pa brings his radio to a tour of a pineapple processing plant. He mistakenly turns it on, can't get it to turn off, and improves productivity as everyone bops along to the music.

I have to go out to sign DOT papers in the a.m. I also have a very short grocery list if I feel like stopping anywhere else. I wish I could pick up milk for Kathryn, but transporter, as you know, not yet invented.

I am tweaking, Harriet, don’t worry. I got a nap this afternoon and dh and I went out and ate INSIDE a restaurant.
LOL, then we went and watched dgs’ practice with ds, just for fun. Dgd was with other grandpa.

Kathryn, I am so sorry you’ve got Covid! My goodness… when it rains it pours, right? Praying you have a very mild case and test negative soon!

Re: handsome boy who is now bald —
This is how good-looking he was:
When I was newspaper sponsor, every year at Valentine’s Day we’d do an Ideal Boy and Girl composite photo. Every student in the school would nominate someone for best hair, eyes, smile, etc. It was a pain to count 600 votes in all these categories and we didn’t do a run-off, whoever got the most votes in each category was the winner.
Then we cut and paste the hair, eyes, smile, arms, etc, all together and it was usually a sorta cartoonish picture… but one year we got it all done and the finished product looked EXACTLY like this boy I went to school with. It as amazing.

Of course, I still say Other Guy is the best looking man I ever saw… but handsome boy-now bald was the best looking guy who was ever in school with me. And he’s a nice guy too, a retired preacher now and his wife is just as sweet as you’d hope for a preacher’s wife. She came over and hugged me before they left and he and her brother/his bil came over to speak to us.
