What are you doing on Wednesday?

Post by CathyS »

Are you resting? Are you reading anything interesting? Are you working around your home?

I woke up before dh. I swept most of the floors and washed the hallway to the back door. We never use our front door and right now there is a rocking chair between the door and the kitchen table.

Dh finally woke up (after 9, which is so unusual for him) and he has gone for a coffee, so I washed all the other floors other than the kitchen. I will do the kitchen later.

Dishwasher is full of dirty dishes. The pasta pot needs to be washed. I also want to wipe the table and stove top.

I need to water all the plants this week.

It's overcast here today and not quite as warm as yesterday. I have been going through a stack of old paperwork and crumbling it up as I put it in the bag so I can burn it. Currently there aren't any bags that are full of burnable paper/cardboard. It's nice to be "caught up" on that.

No idea of what is for supper tonight.

~~~Waving Hello to all~~~~
Cathy - Thank you for the start today.
My day is going much smoother than yesterday. My brain is calm & clear with a good energy level. I am thankful.
Homeschool is underway. I sent links to today's science, history, citizenship, and wisdom lessons to DH so he can review them before discussing with DS14. DH and DS14 will also do Spanish & reading together. I will do the 2 Math curriculums with DS14 and check his 2 ELA assignments after he finishes them. DH has never been much involved with DS14 homeschool in previous years, but it is naturally evolving to include him. I still do all the detailed planning & tracking for each subject.
I am making meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans for lunch. Dinner will be BBQ pulled pork sandwiches & ice cream with our church family.
I've been busy until now, will have a rest for 20 minutes then drive dh to the hospital for his appointment. I just won't go in.
I've turned the spare bedroom from a nursery into a isolation room for me. Folded up the crib. Pulle out the card table for taking my meals at and using my computer, bins to hold my clothes, tv tray for my hair brush and stuff like that.
I have a temperature, not a fever, but aside from that am as sick as I was last week before dh came home. I slept a bit better last night with only me waking myself up, not worrying about dh.
He managed his shower, seated, on his own. I would have suggested that anyway as he's getting much better except for extreme breathlessness if he has to bend for anything. Last night he was trying to help me and had to bend to get to my phone charger and then had to sit for 15 minutes to recover. He'll mention this at the appointment today.
I have started 2 loads of laundry and got the garbage ready to go out as well. Recycle will have to wait (garbage chute is on this floor so it isn't as if I'm going somewhere I shouldn't go, since I'm passing by on the way to the car - although I guess I shouldn't be going out in the car but leaving one's home for medical appointments is allowed.)
I need to figure out if I should try and get paxlavid for myself. I can't figure out how it will help and I don't qualify. Even dh doesn't qualify although if he tests positive I might start yelling about that. Ironically, there have been news stories about how people are not using it. No wonder, no one qualifies.
We're still at the beach - we went shopping yesterday afternoon and had dinner out. It's been cool and windy - not particularly good beach weather but I'm enjoying the view so much. It is amazing - big waves today with the wind, too.
We come home tomorrow. I've struggled with cold or allergy all week. I wake up coughing up phlegm.
Morning…still
I had a very restless night so I stayed home from class. Did some of my morning routines but didn’t finish. Watched a new series on Netflix with Sweetie for a while.
I have dishes to finish and many footprints to pick up. Also want to work on rearranging my office after that.
I ordered some bendable garden rods to install and cover with bird net for my sunnies. The birds around here including cranes and herons have very long bills and can get to my seeds. I will make these covers tall enough so the birds can get to my sunflower seeds which they seem to love. I have other plants that are different from my sunnies. They sit right next to them and we’re planted at the same time. The birds haven’t touch them
I knew this was going to be a learning season for me so I don’t mind having failures happen. Next year should be much easier using all that I’ve learned so far. When I first growing my sunnies in AZ my ability grew as my knowledge grew by trial and error. I expected the same thing this year. One of my friends called my very determined because I keep trying new things to get my dummies to grow. It’s not that… I just hate being told I can’t.
That what I was told by many when I went back to get my collage degree at 38. 6 years later I was teaching on a classroom with my Masters degree. :D
LadyM… that’s really cool that your dh is stepping in to help ds14. Good bonding time
Nancy - Congratulations! What a interesting journey you are on as you build your videos and followers.
I made up a new recipe for meatloaf. I might have pushed the "should I" boundaries too far, but I won't know until I try.
Homeschool is still in progress but we have paused while DS14 takes a shower.
Next up -
** Incline pushups. I am trying to build my arm strength but am having to start very slowly. I did wall pushups until I could do incline pushups on the kitchen countertops.
** Stationary Lunges.
** Finish lunch prep, serve and cleanup.
Quiet day here in the village. Hello blessed. I hope your days are going smoothly.
DH brought his customer over here to look at what we did to the floor of our back porch. I sincerely hope he is NOT expanding this job of his. It appears as if he is. :x
My task for today: somehow, clean off the kitchen table which is covered with DH papers and miscellaneous. I will have to figure out what to do with all this, where to put the papers etc. I know he will be unable to find anything once I do this, but I can't stand to look at it any more. I have finished my study for this week and straightened my desk.
