Re: Monday PWYC
I'm taking my first break of the day to put my feet up. That means I haven't checked or updated my hourly tasks which leaves me wondering what I have forgotten to do.
Homeschool is in progress. Only 2 assignments left to do today. Today we finished the Earth Science curriculum! I could start a different science curriculum but with a little over a month left of school, I am leaning toward waiting until fall semester. DS14 needs 3 science classes to graduate and we have plenty of time to get the other two done.
DD11 has appt with her counselor after school. We will use this opportunity to eat together and maybe do a little shopping while we are in the city if she is willing. She typically doesn't like to shop and I'm not picking that as one of my battles. DD11 could care less that her shoes are looking dingy and worn out. She doesn't like change.

Re: Monday PWYC
Another potentially foolish moment for me today. After so much trouble of HRH taking me to the big city appt that has to include valet parking and a long walk, the appt had been cancelled. And they have a record of confirming a rescheduled date with me.
Sigh. It must have happened when I was on overwhelm with so much going on. I don't know. What a waste.
We went to a grocery for a few things, so it wasn't a total waste of a trip, but it took a huge chunk from both our days and did nothing for my self-confidence.
Dd24 has to carry her Felix to the vet this afternoon and will get off work early, coming right by here to go to vet. So I need to be prepared as a helper and potentially as moral support in case this is worse than she thinks. (sudden growth vet believes is a cyst, but could also be a big deal)
So perhaps I should nap. I hate to do it because I've been avoiding the naps for days now and don't want to start that as a daily habit again. I think I do better without right now.
Beet juice - oh, Harmony, thank goodness you got to that quickly. Highly staining. Good for us, but not for grout.
btw, what kind of grout brush do you use? I have that small mosaic-like tile on bathroom floor with the narrower grout like this pattern and would like to think I'm using the smart thing without giving up and using toothbrushes.

Re: Monday PWYC
Blood work was over before I had even 1 piece of chocolate and I had only guessed once on Wordle.
Came home, finished tea and chocolate. Slowly got moving.
Stripped beds and started laundry. Had breakfast. Remade beds and vacuumed and dusted the bedroom wing.
It is supposed to be nap time but dh (who lost another KG over the past 24 hours, we're up 4KG or 6.5% of his body weight in 60 hours) has a racing heart beat today. He's been out of breath all day and I surmised it might be that with the fluid off his lungs his trying to move to quickly and hitting the out of breath we'd expect due to the surgery, but he went down for his nap and got up and called the nurse coordinator because his heart rate is 150bpm. It has since dropped back to 120. I'm glad I have the stethoscope because I can't take his pulse that fast by hand and my watch on his wrist isn't handling the missed beats well.
So, if it stays that fast for 15 minutes or more, he's to go to the ER. In the meantime, starting tomorrow the Lasix is dropped to 40mg (from 60) and immediately, he can have another 2 cups of fluid a day.
So I'm having a snack and then will test for Covid just in case I've turned negative in the past couple of days. I may end up sleeping in with dh tonight or at the very least with the bedroom doors open or an extra phone rigged up as a baby monitor.
Second load of laundry is in the dryer, first load is folded and ready to put away.
Update: this sat here for a bit and I did the Covid test. One thing about being definitely positive is there's waiting around. By the time I set my watch for the waiting time, I looked down and it showed I was still positive!

Re: Monday PWYC
Harriet, sorry about the appointment. I've had that happen. My grout brush we bought at HD in their janitorial section. It is narrow stiff bristles with a section that pokes out to go into the joint. It attaches to any sort of pole so I can stand up straight. The only thing I'd change is it doesn't swivel, so I have to do the swiveling myself. My tile is big squares though, about 20 x 20. I don't think it would work easily on small tile pieces. The toothbrush sounds like the one for that.
End of month coming up so I brought up the one quarterly report to fill out and send off toward the end... and I did something, I don't know what, and it started showing up on the screen upside down! None of the solutions to that I read about worked. Shutting off the browser and starting over worked though, thank goodness. What a time waster. Other report I do gets submitted through the computer and this is too early to do that one.
Kathryn, wow, sure hope the rest of the day goes smoother and things straighten out. His recovery sure has been hard.

I'm having problems with my computer. I can't even get into system restore. Now my favourites list is gone.

Oh no, Cathy! Have you restarted your computer. Shut it down and let it go all the way to off, and wait 10 seconds or something before you restart it.
I'm home again and having some dark chocolate as a treat for myself. I did an fairly easy workout outside with the trainer that runs the place. Didn't need a mask outside, and he said I showed no symptoms to don't need to continue masking. And it's a pleasant day to be outside too - area is shady and temp is 78.
I stopped on the way home and got fish and some veggies for our supper and for later in the week. I didn't get anything out of the freezer earlier and hadn't had the bandwidth to even think about it. All our mail was here, thankfully, and I had a big fat envelope addressed to me, with CG following my name. It's my certificate, a lapel pin, some other material and the judges comments. I read them all through quickly and I'm not devastated. All three recommended certification and there were some very positive comments mixed in.
Right after I got home and had taken the dog out and put perishables away I heard the garage door open and dh was home. Thought he was home for the day and my heart dropped, but he was just getting a late lunch.
I never finished a.m. routine this a.m. - in particular the kitchen. I need to do that, and I need to walk the dog again.
To top off my life right now, we have painters beginning work here tomorrow to paint the downstairs of our house. They'll be here at eight a.m. Supposedly they move everything but I assume I'll be the one putting things back where they live. They are to do one or two rooms daily, not tear up the entire house. I'm not enthusiastic, but will make the best of it. I assume that at least I'll get some time upstairs.

Kathryn, I'm so very sorry that you're still sick and that Ken is having such a slow, difficult recovery. I think you're wise to take action to find out his meds and doc's recommendations.

Re: Monday PWYC
Homeschool is finished and DS14 has left for work. He had a headache, so I took his temp before he left. His boss is immune compromised so want to make sure DS14 isn't sick. DS14 suspects his headache is because of no caffeine.
I have 30 minutes to take a break before getting DD11 from school and heading to the city.
I feel like I'm playing Tetris as i add/subtract ingredients to Cronometer. I treat it like a game where I am trying to get all the nutrients to turn green. I was low in choline and Vit k so I was able to turn those green by adding 4 oz of spinach and 50g of liver to my daily intake. Now I have a perfect score if I can just FTDP.
I have planted 4 more tomato & pepper plants into the raised bed garden. I also added more blocks to the raised bed that I'm designing/building. I am reminding myself to enjoy the journey instead of seeking to get everything finished. I know it will never be finished because there will always be something else to do or add.
DH Dsis came by for a visit. She was on her way to get blood work. Next Monday she will take her 6th chemo treatment which will put her 1/2 way to being done (colon cancer). She is physically & emotionally a wreck but is trying to remain resolved while getting through this treatment

A friend let me know that my Instagram account has been messaging her. I logged in and changed my password, the schedule the account for deletion in a month. I also walked the dog and started a load of laundry. Need to fold two loads now, but I'm starting on the kitchen next.

Re: Monday PWYC
Oh I hope Ken gets straightened around soon, Kathryn. Can't imagine a heartbeat that fast. Dh's is around 63 most of the time right now. But he has had it racing when he was in Afib. I continue to be worried about him and not really happy that he's going up home in 5 days. He does see the cardiologist here on Wednesday so we'll see what she has to say about it all. I see him hanging on to something all the time as he's moving about. And he seems and sounds pretty weak. Next thing is I am trying to figure out what/when for me going north. I'm not liking any part of this.
Had a lovely experience this morning. Last night dh was looking for the B actine that had been on the dresser. We searched and searched to no avail. This morning I decided to get down on the floor to look under the bed. Bad plan -or lack thereof. I could not get back up no matter what I tried. So I manage to scooch over to my phone and started calling dh who was out in the shop. No answer and it went right to voice mail. Finally sent him several texts that I needed him. He finally came in after about 20 minutes. No matter what we tried I knew it wasn't going to work so he called dsonil in. With dsonil pulling and dh getting under my arms from behind me we made quick work. I've heard it said about Seniors: Don't ever get down without a plan on how to get up. Guess it's the last time I'll do that!
We're having peppers and cheese sandwiches for dinner. I know, sounds pretty bland, but we used to have them fairly frequently years ago. Sounds good to both of us. Dsonil can put some of last night's roast on if he wants. I only had a small piece of that as I can't eat meat unless it's literally falling apart. My teeth, after almost 16 months are still bothering me. I'm pretty afraid that I'll end up losing them -4. So if I do I'm sure any $$ I got as settlement will be going for more dental work.
