Still working on April plans. DD11 brought home her Thursday folder which added seven more events to the month of April.
Next up = grab the church April calendar and add those events to our calendar.

Posting without cuop -- I'm up to the middle of posts from 3-30 & there have been things I've wanted to comment on all week but I keep waiting until I'm completely caught up, which is not happening lately. Most importantly (although belated):
Congratulations, dTwins on becoming a Certified Genealogist!
Know you worked long & hard on that. What a wonderful accomplishment!
((Kathryn)), I'm so sorry that you got covid & that your ((dh)) has been having scary high & low heart rate issues. Glad he didn't have to go back to the hospital.
Dee, I'm sorry you had trouble getting up after getting down low to look under the bed. If you or dh need a lift up in future & dd & dsil are not home, consider calling the police. Be sure they know you don't need medical help or an ambulance. My dmom did that half a dozen times for my ddad when he would slip (not fall) down to the floor next to his chair or bed & didn't have the strength to get up.
((Harmony))
Harriet, I hope the steroid side effects disappear soon. I'm sorry to hear about dd24's Felix having a tumor. Hoping that the prescribed Rx will reduce it.
Cathy, that's great news!! Happy you now have a comfortable fit.
((Rose))
Thinking of Blessed ...
I was out of the house most of the day & haven't accomplished much since I got home. Usually I read PWYC in the mornings & don't come back until the next day. Decided to relax & de-stress here at the computer with a cup of tea. Lots of errands done; one especially important. Need to go back out to post office tomorrow as they were closed for lunch when I stopped by. Like many of you, I've been grouping errands in a loop so I don't have to backtrack. Needed to use free K ohls money before the end of the month & was pleased not only to find something useful (plus a colorful Spring top
) but they sent a 20% coupon to my email this AM. Had been waiting for a discount for a while; lately their email offers were mostly clearance related so I'm glad the timing worked out.
Yikes, it's past dinnertime. No wonder I'm hungry. Gyros for us tonight. Quick, fairly easy, & delicious. We have this at least once a month, & always get two meals out of it. I always keep an extra bottle of Tzatziki sauce on hand because we finish most of it the first time. Time to start cutting up lettuce & tomatoes. Thinking of you all, & agreeing with those who have sugggested a big ((Group Hug)). I hope that those of you that are dealing with upset, worry or struggles have much better days very soon.

Re: Thursday PWYC
Hello Dove. Yes, I definitely need a better day.
DH came and got me and wanted me to drive him to the auto parts store to pick up his radiator. Had a real hard time getting to that store. In all the years I've lived here I've never been stuck behind a RR crossing, but today there was a train there not moving. The cars were backed up a long way and DH directed me another way to get to that store...and of course one street was a dead end, and a lot of maneuvering around to find another way. We parked in a handicapped spot because he had his rollator with him and he is barely able to take a few steps with that. So I took a chance we wouldn't get caught and ticketed and we got into the store. Found the radiator matches ok but this one was damaged and probably up into the inside of it also...so they had to order another and we have another wait. New one will be coming in from Georgia, none left in our state.
On the ride out of town DH wanted me to show him where the county office is if we ever get to submitting that permit. He wasn't understanding what I was telling him....so we drove over there and I pulled in to the underground garage, even though they've made that place for employees only. He wanted me to be sure they were still in that building so I walked around to the front because I didn't have an employee badge to open the door... and found a way in. Elevator locked and no badge...but another lady showed me the badge hanging on a cord to use to get the elevator door to open. Knew all that would confuse DH so I pulled the car around the front and got the walker out and we went in and I showed him how to operate the elevator.
I guess he was feeling overwhelmed and said he'd have me drive him there. Once he's able to walk and has the plan from the engineer. He is sure he's never been there before. He's been there many many times...lost to memory I guess.
Dinner was not so great. I couldn't seem to get the vegetables cooked through in the oven so we ate very late. Cleaning up I discovered a huge bunch of those little ants all around my end table and chair in the family room, so a lot of cleaning and mopping and spraying. Sigh... I can't seem to catch a break.

Re: Thursday PWYC
Dove, what type of hot tea do you drink? I have recently started a cup of green tea with most breakfasts in the morning because of the healthy reports. It is not so bad, seems chronically "thin" to me, if that makes sense. I try to squeeze more tea from the tea bag, lol. But I have almond creamer with hot drinks, so it is really not so thin when I've added that. The taste is nice and it is healthy.
So far so good on itching (hopeful, hopeful, realizing I'm not out of the woods until I'm out of the woods).
And also thanks for asking about the little critter. The first night (2 nights ago) his swelling seemed reduced, yesterday morning no progress but last night a little more progress. So he is not, at this time, a candidate for that end-of-life discussion with vet. Trying to see his face is an exercise in how fast you can focus, of course. Ferrets live to the beat of a very fast drummer.
Mystery said "perpetual ascent of Mt. Washmore". lol. Enjoy the bubble tea - I always think it's so pretty and interesting but seems squishy!
This has been a really good day.
My appt included blood work which came back right away for dr to see (will wonders ever cease) and was quite good. She was very upbeat, everyone so nice. HRH drove, so I had a less stressful trip, and there was a wide screen tv for him in the waiting room, very comfortable. So medical is through for the week, hurray. (and next week is not me but him - I have nothing until second week of April and not as stressful)
The young man's company has received an important Small Business Administration award and he's so proud. This really vindicates him for changing jobs when he did, to this different company. I think his father, especially, was very concerned about making a decision that might have been taking a chance, but he had researched and made a good choice. This sort of thing is so encouraging for all the people there and bodes well for their futures - general happiness with their work, plus the recognition of doing right.
On a more grounded note, dd43's youngest flushed a paper cup down the toilet. Humbling.

Re: Thursday PWYC
Just wanted to say hello to everyone.
I’m okay, just down with a terrible cough. Pretty sure I got it from Dgd, and she was negative for Covid, so I don’t think that would be it… but I do feel rough. Considering calling the doctor tomorrow.

Re: Thursday PWYC
Dinner turned out well just 45 minutes late. The counter top oven never got above 300 so I moved it to the main oven (which I had never shut off) for the last 15 miutes. Dh knocked on my door after I'd settled into my room to tell me that dinner tasted wonderful. I'm so glad he was able to eat it. It was his first enjoyed food of the day (breakfast is still a challenge, aside from his scrambled egg which is barely cooked so very runny, nothing tastes good to him or goes down easily.)
I froze the remaining two servings so now have two emergency meals in the freezer that we know he can tolerate while so dehydrated.
Tomorrow is technically pizza but there's no way he'll be able to eat that. So I'll have to come up with something moist. I bought everything except cream for fettuccini but he's worried it won't be moist enough or that he won't have the energy to cook it.
He signed up to MLB.com (US$149) to watch the Blue Jays season opener (in St. Louis.) Turns out all Canada is blacked out on MLB.com but he didn't realize that, he had to cancel because the app won't work on his phone, the phone is too old. He'll lose money on that cancellation since it was on his C$ credit card and the refund will be less than the original charge. In the meantime, while he was messing with that I read that he could sign up for $15 per month to our sports channel and stream games. He did that and was able to stream the game from the 5th inning onwards and when I checked in on him later, he said that one game was worth the $15!
He has a 'baseball' friend in the building so they were both watching and texting back and forth. I told him to invite the friend up on Saturday for that game. We can project it on the big screen.
I'll be out since I'm taking dgd4 and dgs6 to the farm for the afternoon. Dgd is so excited about it she keeps asking her mommy how long she has to wait. The forecast is heavy rain but we'll have fun anyway. I'll take them to McD's for lunch and then a couple of hours at the farm looking at the baby animals. It will be a weekend so there will be craft activities and a cooking display if they are interested.
Then on Sunday it is DC's 14th birthday and we are going to her party at a restaurant that is coincidentally next to the farm (although, being a farm, it is still over a mile away!) Perhaps I can take DC and dgs2 to see the babies while the others are gathering. We'll see, I haven't checked the timing. I just hope dh can eat something while there.
