Waving on Sunday, PWYC
Good morning!
For the church goers among us, it is Palm Sunday. Our denomination does a parade of palm (of some sort, I used pampas grass cut from ditches one year when the order wasn't made in the autumn!) waving children.
Then the service turns more somber as the Passion readings are done since so few people go to church on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
If not going to church, then I hope you have the bright sunshine I have and can be out waving to neighbours as you walk or drive around the neighbourhood.
Sunday should be a 'friendly' day, in my humble opinion!

It's a gorgeous day here! Very little wind. Bright sunshine and blue skies. Too bad it's so darn cold.
I have nothing to do right now. Dishes are all done. Laundry is all done, other than what's in the washing machine.
Dh and I are heading to Walmart soon for cat food.

Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.

Re: Waving on Sunday, PWYC
I need to rush off and s2s now and head to church. I'm thrilled 1. I can go cuz my isolation is over and 2. I have the energy to do so.
I slept fairly well after a successful day.
The weather pulled an April Fools stunt and instead of being very windy and rainy it was sunny and calm and 46 degrees. The wind finally showed up as we went back to the car so we had to eat inside instead of sitting in the back up with the sun shining on us.
The farm wasn't an overwhelming success because dgd4 (who confided to me that she had never seen baby animals in person on our way in) raced through the three barns because she didn't like the smell. She wanted to do buttons instead, so we spent 10x as much time in the buildings without animals than in the buildings with and I had to promise every time we went into some place that there weren't any animals. That takes the shine off a trip to the farm!
Dgs6 had a good time and insisted we got to every building.
I had taken an ADD pill yesterday and the day went smoothly for me. I picked up pizza on the way home. That wasn't as much as a success because it wasn't moist enough for dh to enjoy so he had to drink extra milk in order to make up for no saliva in his mouth (brushing teeth is also a challenge.)
He'll skip his Lasix today (every 3 days he can).
In the meantime, he had a good day while I was out. His walk on the treadmill, ate some breakfast, nap, had a friend over to watch the baseball game, then was walking on the treadmill when I got home. He didn't check his heart rate. I think I might have him set alarms for that. In bed at night it was 50. That's the first time we've seen anything under 75 since I've been doing my best to monitor it. It was back to 147 or 84 this morning depending on which reading one wants to take.
I bought a new BP machine yesterday and it will come on Tuesday. It allows tracking of 2 people, holds the last 60 readings of each and has an app that will track everything (also allows downloading to other health apps.) I think we're going to have to start keeping better records and tracking more. Just a sign of our aging, sigh....
I also picked up more masks. I had hoped the 25 I had at the beginning of March would be enough but went through 11 of them because of Covid. Those ones were not reused day after day since I knew they would have virus particles in them. Normally, when using a mask to protect me, not others, they will last a week or two before the elastic gives out because of all the on/off. I let them dry in between and I only wear an hour or less a day. As opposed to the last 10 days when I was wearing them for hours a day.
LadyM which O2 monitor do you use? I figure my Garmin tracker watch isn't all that accurate (I'm seldom over 95% but I know from my hospital stay ages ago my O2 level is usually lower than ds would like it to be). I bought it for night time monitoring of that but am considering getting something that may be more accurate.

Re: Waving on Sunday, PWYC
Good Morning!
My day is off to a smooth start. My hourly tasks are greatly reduced on Sunday because I remove several of the categories. I don't plan to do any decluttering, organizing, or cleaning on Sundays.
I have bought several brands of oximeter over the years (for us & our parents) and they all seem to work okay. The last one I bought was this one. Our doctor's office uses similar. My FB watch shows my oxygen level lower than the oximeter (ours & at doctor office). I wonder if it is because I intentionally breathe deeper when the oximeter is put on finger which raises the oxygen level.
I've been in the garden twice and washed dishes twice this morning. Both were quick activities for just for a couple minutes each time.

Re: Waving on Sunday, PWYC
I am up woke 4 ish too early but got out of bed by 4:45 and check my bs bc I was hot it was up a bit.
I have been trying to do breathing exercises I think it is helping.
Had bfast muffin.
Journaling done
listening to music.
I need mojo today.
Thinking on a couple things for my day it is sunny but 33* is cold and frosty outside.
My purple leaf plum tree is budding.
There was snow flurries in the mountains yesterday that melts back a bit in the distance.
Meant to say my dsis & family in Ark. is okay after the storms there.
I got the laundry out of the dryer and needs folded and I need to do a pupa.

Re: Waving on Sunday, PWYC
We ended up going out for breakfast. Then we went to Walmart and dh waited in the truck while I went in for cat food and came out with more than that.
There are 2 curling games on TV today with Canada playing. The event is taking place in Ottawa. I wonder if that is affecting the traffic because there are numerous teams playing, plus all the people going into the arena, camera crews, etc.
Going to sit with dh to watch the first game.

Re: Waving on Sunday, PWYC
I slept in and it was wonderful. I was awake around eight, but then dozed until 9:45ish when dh took dog out to walk. I'm having coffee now and reading online.
Dh is starting to hang pictures again. No, now he's working on leveling the washer, with many sighs and groans.
Yesterday we went on to the river - warm and very windy but nice. I used sunscreen! We went out for Mexican and dh and I headed home from there.
Today is staying home and working here some, except for perhaps going to Lowes or a plant nursery.
Ooops, I've been supervising installation of paintings and need to sign off.

Re: Waving on Sunday, PWYC
Thanks, LadyM. That brand is not sold in Canada (except by resellers who bring it in and mark it up 100%.) Sigh.... Lots that look similar because 90% of it is just relabeled Chinese stuff all from the same factory.
Church was amazing. Great music. Communion. And we skipped all the passion stuff so got to stay in the happy part of the story.
Dh is down for a nap and I've just finished my breakfast so will go down as well. I wasn't tired until I got home and then found myself exhausted.
Edited to add:
I just looked up recommended pulse oximeters and NOT ONE of the brands in the articles are available from Amazon in Canada. (The Zaccurate showed up as recommended, BTW.) The fact that not one of them shows up is very suspicious. All the Chinese junk is there. I'm wondering if there are specific rules for selling in Canada that "real" medical equipment companies don't meet so they just don't make their product available here. If it was one or two of the companies, that would be one thing, the fact the it is every single company is what is setting off warning bells.
I can get mid-priced ones here, such a Braun (another brand not on Amazon.ca) but there are no reviews anywhere listing what is in Canada except the damn websites that scrape customer reviews from other websites and aren't legit sources of what is a good item.

Re: Waving on Sunday, PWYC
And this is the one we got also from A river, Kathryn. Seems to be paralleling ones used by our Drs and hospital:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086Z ... UTF8&psc=1
Our BP machine also does 2 people and the same kind of memory and heartbeat. It's proving invaluable!
Had my lunch. Dfriend at church did a can of brown bread for me. My Mom used to make that very often and I hadn't had it in years. Had a slice for lunch. Yum!
Sermon today was very good and applicable.
Dh called a while ago and he sounded especially good! Said he and DGS23 went to Brockport to W endy's, th Win A ldi's, then the $store. After they got home they went out to our campground. He said water was up to our front steps but he went in and has set the furnace at 40-degrees. He was going to get bottles to get water for the RV but they were stored out behind our shed. The amazing thing is he SOUNDED SO GOOD. All of which is making me wonder about the seasonal allergies here. I pray they aren't that big a problem for him down here. Have no idea what we'd do if they are. Will see how he does in the next few days. He sees our cardiologist up there on Tuesday. Hopefully they will have some good news about his receiving the Watchman procedure.

Re: Waving on Sunday, PWYC
Lunch was cook surprise (the cook was surprised along with everyone else). When I started preparing the meal, I had no clue what the end result would be....or even what I wanted it to be. I made a cream sauce that started with alfredo but took several winding turns. I put a big package of pork chops & the sauce in the instant pot while we were at church. When we arrived home, I tasted the sauce and decided it was surprisingly amazing. I made some narrow egg noodles and poured the sauce over them.
DS14 has left to spend time with friends at the nearby jumps. I went there yesterday and saw what I expected to see. Boy/Girl teenagers watching & taking turns riding each others atv, cycles, dirt bikes, etc. I received two separate comments this morning complimenting DS14 wearing his helmet even when no one else is wearing a helmet. I remember years ago when DS14 therapist told me that having a child with his alphabet (OCD, anxiety, ODD, ADHD, etc) does usually cause them to be more careful in their teenage years. Who knew I would be thankful for DS14 being uniquely different.
