Re: Simply Sunday
Good morning!
I woke at 5:30 and tried to go back to sleep. A bit later, I felt dh moving and thought perhaps I had and it was closer to time to rise. It was 5:40. We chatted a bit and then I decided to get up at 6 because I really wasn't tired and was getting sore. I had a long 5 hour stretch of sleep at one point and was in bed almost 8 hours so was 'done'.
Dh has a severely sore right shoulder and hasn't been lifting or doing anything that would make it so. It started on Friday, I think and he called it in to the nurse to ask if he could take advil. Apparently, not yet. Tylenol isn't touching the pain. It was almost all better yesterday but got worse by after dinner. He had a rough night. Even when it isn't acute pain, it aches, and that made sleeping hard. He did manage some. I've pulled out a sling for him today but don't know if he'll use it. When I left the bed, I passed him my heating pad to put on it for a bit but haven't heard if that worked.
He's supposed to drive to meet ds and dgs for breakfast but I don't know if he'll do so. I'll find out in a bit, he's in the shower now.
I'm going to stay home for church and use a few uninterrupted hours of being in the apartment by myself to get back on track.

Re: Simply Sunday
Morning….
Simple works for me!
Kathryn…. I get a sore left shoulder a lot. When it first started to happen, my trainer asked me if I slept on my left side, which I do. He told me that was he thought was causing my pain. I could hardly lift my arm as well. Once I started being conscious of my sleeping position and stopped sleeping on my left side, the pain finally stopped. I really had to work on doing that and every once in a while when my shoulder starts to bother me, I know what caused it and how to make my shoulder better.
It’s an easy day for me. Routines done and sunnies watered. Sweetie saw a snake outside that went under our pool pump, but he couldn’t chase it away. Sure it’s just a black racer because that’s all we see around here.
Next up is to color my hair and then work on getting my steps in while I wait. Yesterday we watched some of the basket ball play off games. Sweetie really love those and though I had some other things I would rather do, this goes under the category of making memories which, given our situation, I’m really intend to do

Re: Simply Sunday
House guests still here, they are packing up and getting ready to head back home later this a.m.
We had a good day yesterday. After they arrived we talked awhile, then had lunch here and went to the art festival. Dh and I purchased a couple of small items and they also purchased some things. Later, L, the wife of the couple, and I had naps or rests while dh and D yacked, then we had cocktails and yacked, later had dinner and dh made a fire outside for awhile.
D brought his Sous Vide and did the steaks for us. They were placed in freezer bags with some olive oil, rosemary, garlic and salt and peppererd, and immersed in a 130 degree water bath for an hour to cook to medium-rare. Then they were put on the grill (where we had chicken going) to sear them. Delicious! I baked sweet potatoes and roasted asparagus, and we had strawberries, cheese cake and cream for dessert. Ds joined us and was personable and I think had a good time. It was nice to have someone else grilling him about his life!

Re: Simply Sunday
I burnt a pan last night with some egg on it I googled how to get that smell out.
I've cleaned the pan, aired it out had the fan on one to moe air another to take it out on the stove hood had opened windows.
I guess deep clean is next up.
I have been fighting sniffles not sure on church yet but did listen to on line stuff.
Harriet one choice I heard was Charles Stanley's last message.
I've had my breakfast.
Not dressed yet.
Some planning & journal done.
We have rain in our forecast.
Did some cleaning in the kitchen and it has helped.
Now I have vinegar vanilla & spices simmering on the stove it is helping too.
I have meals planned for lunch & dinner today.
Tonight I will do more weekly planning.

Re: Simply Sunday
Hi!
It's cool and really windy here. I think it's going to rain. We were going to do stuff outside, but it's too cold and too windy.
I was given a bunch of tapestry wool this past week, so I started yet another scarf. This one will start off with the pride colours, and then carry on to be what I am calling my "Joseph" scarf. (scarf of many colours)
We are having salmon with lemon and dill tonight. I will serve it with rice and green peas.

Re: Simply Sunday
Dh ended up driving to meet ds for breakfast and then they took dgs to a park to play. He picked up stuff needed from the bulk food store on his way home.
I've managed to *finally* get all the quicken data entry finished (it was almost done, just some stuff from this month) and the 3 months each for our two active credit cards reconciled. The receipts have been matched up as well and shredded, the statements are filed. I also reconciled the two bank accounts and transferred some money between them. Finally, I paid the two bills I have and filed all the papers. I culled the apartment insurance folder, leaving in the old bills but shredding everything else but the current policy.
So that's the accounting desk work that has been dragging me down for the past 2 weeks and now I can print the report for corporate year end bookkeeping. Although that gets to wait until after doing the taxes.
I'm going to go for walk right now since it isn't raining and then start dinner cooking (roast chicken tonight). Then I'll start in on the taxes. I'm counting on them going smoother than I think they will. That is true for most years and now that I can download my t-slips into the software, there's a lot less typing and just double checking that everything is there.
I started the whole process by cleaning up my desk and that led to the unhappy reminders that I have to drive dh to his blood drawer in the morning, I have a meeting in the afternoon and a doctor's appointment (40 minutes away) at 6. So much for getting my heavy housework done on Monday! (I haven't looked ahead to see what Tuesday looks like!)

Re: Simply Sunday
~~~waving Hello to all~~~~
My day has been smooth with no major blunders or drama. Church was excellent and I enjoyed and was fully engaged in every part of the small group and worship service.
I put a spiral ham in the oven this morning and it was done when we got home from church. That made putting lunch on the table super easy.
I am feeling the need to make a change in how I plan and track my day. There are too many items in my days to keep up with using digital only. I am becoming overwhelmed. I'm going to temporarily use a 8x11" sheet of paper to print my food plan and calendar items for each day. I find it easier to jot down OMM items onto paper as they flash through my mind. I recognize we are approaching the end of the school year, so I just need to hang on during this super busy schedule for a few more weeks. I am so ready for summer break.
Next up .... plan the 32 homeschool assignments for this week and get them onto DS14 calendar.
Re: Simply Sunday
I've been working on the "progressive" pride part of the scarf. Violet, indigo, green, yellow, orange and red, followed by black and brown, turquoise and baby pink and then white. For some of the colours, I only had enough to do 2 rows. Thankfully I had a shade of red that worked. Not a bright red, more of a burgundy/blood red.
I still have a lot of other colours for the rest of the scarf.
Actually talked to dd on the phone. She is coming here on the 13th to celebrate Mother's Day and to help with yard work and to get her tires swapped to summers.
Re: Simply Sunday
Thought I posted earlier. Obviously not. It's been a pretty tough day with dh and I'm sure that's why I'm way behind. He's really out of it today and has slept a lot. Been trying to get him to drink more. He was probably drinking 'enough' before but unfortunately it was iced tea. I'm thinking he may be dehydrated as the tea has caffeine and he's already taking so much lasix each day. (3 furosemide and 1 metolazone every morning through Tuesday.) Then we have to call his Dr back and let him know dh's status. I'm just hoping we can make it that long. He just finally made it up from his chair to go to the bathroom to get his night clothes on. He's barely able to walk through our RV holding his cane in one hand and moving the other one along our counter and any walls between here and the bathroom.
DDIL-A came by for a while. She and dh went for a golf cart ride and he took her through the newest section of the park. Think there's 80 new wooded sites that are going to be beautiful. She fell in love with them.
