I would generalize and say that SHEs are excellent at setting up systems. Where we are less than optimal is that we don't maintain the systems!

Dove: you might consider getting a counter top oven if you really miss having the second oven. I use mine for about 90% of our oven stuff since my big oven (it's a rental so I have no say over the appliances) takes 25 minutes to heat up to 400* because only the top element will come on to heat the oven until it reaches the set temperature (or to raise the temperature if I'm switching from 350 to 400, for example.) My oven also doesn't have a convection fan to blow the heat around, which I think slows down the heating up since the thermometer probe is closer to the top of the oven than the bottom.

My counter top oven heats up more quickly and is convection so cooks more quickly than the big oven. The downside is they only seem to last me 3 - 5 years (my last one was 4 years, but the current one is less than one year and only the top elements seem to working correctly so the hottest it gets is 375 degrees.) Remember, though, I use it for almost all my oven things. They are versatile (bake, broil, keep warm, and currently air fry), plus on a hot day I can still have a roast, I just move the oven to the balcony to cook it in. You can get them large enough to handle 9x13 pans so you can do baking in them. They tend to be between $100 and $200.

I'm clean, mostly packed, and have had breakfast. I had hoped to leave in 20 minutes but dh is dawdling.

Hi y’all…

Got up, did my morning routines and got ready for my class. Came home, cut some sunnies for my friends and then went to my coffee gathering.

Harmony… it’s storming and raining here!

Dove … I am waiting for my new stove and dishwasher to be delivered. My old stove is a double stove and I hate it! I didn’t mind the bending over, but I kept burning myself either on the lower opened oven door or hitting the rack with my hands on either oven. My small oven was on top and my larger one was on the bottom. I probably burnt myself with this double oven more times during the time I’ve had this oven that I have ever burnt myself in the entire 53 years that I’ve been cooking

Speaking of systems yesterday I started a social media planner for my yt channel.
There are things I want / need to learn like editing so I had to schedule time to do that.
Not sure what else. I am sure some of the planner gals on yt can help me with that once I find them.

Today trying to remember my meat loaf recipe pizza sauce ground meat & veg. & seasonings. egg & cheese I have a place to start.

I watched a couple videos and got myself motivated...and I cleaned out a bedroom closet and a little bit in another. I will put my discards in the declutter thread... but the outside rolley garbage bin is half full. Stuff wasn't in anybody's way, but for the whatever, whenever, a lot is gone now.

Brought in the rest of the laundry. All put away but one basketfull.

RRose, Yay for rain! It should soon be rainy season here. Typically we get into a pattern where clouds build along the eastern coast and move across the state. Some years we can set our clock by when the rains will start. Stop what we're doing outside for a bit and wait for the rains to go by, then get back to what we were doing. Other years it's not so predictable. It was helpful for DH when he was out working every day. They'd take a break and then be able to get back to work. My friend said the predictions for hurricanes are that storms will form in the Atlantic and come across, or up to the coast of the Carolinas, but not go south and up into the Gulf, which is so bad for us here. I hope she's right.

We have clouds building, big white puffy clouds, so lets see what we get today.

Sorted mail. 2 bills to pay. Glad I do that online now.

Hair was cut and styled, then I treated myself to an iced coffee and also got a baby gift. The baby gift was just a gift card, but it's at a very frou-frou store so I know they will enjoy picking something out.

I am sore from my workout yesterday. Somehow, forty-five minutes in I just felt I had hit the wall. Trainer stopped at that point and I stretched and was done. I'll workout once in the next two weeks before we are home and I can get back on schedule there.

I just took a little nap...

I enjoyed my unfocused day with no alarms. I cooked a big meal for the family and got the taxes from the CPA so there was some progress made. I did try to relax but with kids here that only happens in small segments of time. I handled 16 incoming phone calls, a video call and several text messages. It is a busy season of life even when I try to slow it down.

Good evening! I should have shown up here earlier — I could have used the focus.

I did manage to get a couple of hours of work done, and I got a load of laundry done, including the new print (hide the dropped food stains!) blouse that I will wear to tomorrow’s breakfast. (Girls’ night is girls’ morning this month!) Played a couple of games with DH, too.

Tomorrow, besides the breakfast, we’ve got the livestream at church and a visit with friends afterwards. These friends have health issues and have been very cautious about Covid, so this is only the second time we’ve seen them in the last couple of years. Sadly, their daughter, who is between our kids in age, will be away. DD, at least, is still looking forward to going. If DC wants to stay home, I won’t stop them. For the most part, the folks we’re expecting to see there are either older or younger.

It sounds like many of you were successfully focused, so hooray! For me, I need to focus on getting to bed. My ride will be here half an hour before I usually get out of bed on a Saturday. Sweet dreams, everybody!
